"Outstanding Support and Seamless QuickBooks Integration"
What do you like best about Nickel?

Their customer service and how open they are to new features and to improving their system based on each client's needs. It has been amazing working with them. All the problems I've had, they resolved them, and if I need help or if I have questions about anything, they are always there to assist.

On the other hand, their system is easy to understand, is awesome working with a platform that can connect with QuickBooks, and where we can manage everything without trouble. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Nickel?

When I first started working with them, I had a couple of things that were a challenge for me, as soon as I shared with them this, they started to work on it to fix and improve what I needed. They are prepared to grow, and all these challenges are just a way for them to keep getting better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Free ACH Payments and Reliable Communication, But the Free Version Lacks Recurring Invoices"
What do you like best about Nickel?

As a commercial landlord, I decided to switch to Nickel because they offer free ACH payments. Although it can take up to five days for payments to appear in my account, I don't mind since that account doesn't earn interest. As long as I know the payments are coming through, the timing works for me. I appreciate Nickel's communication—they send emails when payments are received, processed, and when I can expect the funds in my account. I believe payments are processed more quickly if you opt for the monthly fee, but for my needs, the free option is sufficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Nickel?

I wish there were a mid-level subscription tier in the $10-15 per month range that included a few additional features. I’d be willing to pay for the option to set up recurring invoices, but at the moment, I have to manually create a new invoice each month for every tenant. It only takes me a minute or less per invoice, but having an automated option would be much more convenient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Convenient QuickBooks Integration, but Needs Smoother Refunds and Fewer Glitches"
What do you like best about Nickel?

I appreciate how easy it is to use, especially with its integration with QuickBooks. It's very convenient to be able to pass fees directly to the customer, which saves us from having to calculate and manage them ourselves. I also value the promptness of the bank deposits. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Nickel?

Glitches tend to occur at inconvenient moments, which can be frustrating. The refund process is somewhat confusing, and it would be helpful if there were more options available in the refund reason dropdown. Additionally, the integration with QuickBooks occasionally fails, requiring me to resend invoices in Nickel that should have already been delivered. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Cost-Effective Payment Processor with Responsive Support"
What do you like best about Nickel?

I like that Nickel is really cost-effective as it helps me minimize fees by not adding their own. The quick payment page at a subdomain is great, allowing anyone to pay me easily. The user interface is well thought out, so people understand what to do quickly when trying to pay me. Although it's new, Nickel doesn't feel buggy and has a mature vibe. The setup was very easy, and their support is very responsive, having personally helped me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Nickel?

I wish it was more intuitive for clients to choose to store their payment method. They want to but don't usually do it. I feel like if the flow was improved more of them would. Right now I believe it's after the payment is made and I think they must be closing the page first and don't see it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Melio forced us to find an alternative - SO glad we landed with Nickel"
What do you like best about Nickel?

We were happy with our former payment portal, Melio, but they changed their pricing structure and instantly alienated us. After an extensive search, we settled on Nickel and couldn't be happier. Initially the platform wasn't an exact 1-to-1 replacement for Melio's functionality, but there are regular improvements and Ray is always excited to hear feedback on how Nickel can be improved. The core tier currently meets our needs, but the paid tiers offer some great advancements that we are considering utilizing in the future.

The UI is easy to understand and navigate. The integration with QuickBooks Online is easy to set up, quick, and seamless. You can tell they take great pride in their platform and forming it to satisfy the needs of their users. I am excited to see what improvements are coming in the future! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Nickel?

We primarily use ACH payments and there is some variance between how long it takes to complete. The platform says 2-3 business days, but we have seen anywhere between 2-5 days. I assume this isn't 100% in control of Nickel as there are multiple institutions involved. But if we could reliably tell our vendors when they will see their deposits hit their accounts, it would save us some headaches. This isn't a problem unique to Nickel though as we have seen it with other payment platforms as well.

We break up some of our larger transactions into multiple payments because we are limited to $25k/transaction with our current tier. I would love to be able to submit this as a single transaction, and know we can do so at the higher tiers.

We were glad to hear about the recently implemented batch transactions; however, its implementation of still paying each invoice separately didn't work well for our process as we need a single payment to go to each vendor if multiple invoices are paid in the batch. We get around this by creating a new invoice with the total amount we want to pay and put the invoice numbers in the note so our vendor knows how to process the remittance. It would be great if Nickel supported this without us having to go thru the additional steps.

Nickel doesn't take into account any open credits on a vendors so without some double checking, it would be easy to overpay with that actual open balance is. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Payment Collection with Zero Fees"
What do you like best about Nickel?

I collect payments using Nickel, and I greatly appreciate that I can collect ACH payments with no fee, which is a huge benefit for us. I find the software easy to use, and I love that clients have the flexibility to pay with either ACH or a credit card. The simplicity of the software is appealing, and it has a nice, clean interface. The initial setup was simple, which adds to the overall positive experience. Given these benefits, I am highly likely to recommend Nickel to others, rating it a 10 on a recommendation scale. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Nickel?

I find that Nickel is in its infancy and lacks some features. However, I don't mind that too much since I only use it for simple things. Additionally, I would like to have the option to use a client's phone number to send an invoice instead of needing an email. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Seamless Integration with QuickBooks, Cost-Effective Solution"
What do you like best about Nickel?

I love Nickel's simplicity and its tight integration with QuickBooks Online, which makes it incredibly easy to use. The setup was remarkably quick, and we had it up and running in less than an hour. The product allows for automatic synchronization between the two platforms, ensuring seamless operation. Additionally, Nickel provides significant flexibility in processing credit cards, enabling us to let customers absorb fees or have the option to cover them ourselves if necessary. This flexibility was crucial for our business needs and previously hard to manage with QuickBooks alone. Moreover, I appreciate that Nickel offers ACH transactions at zero fees, unlike QuickBooks, which charges for this service. It's been a fantastic experience overall, and I highly recommend Nickel to anyone, as evidenced by my score of ten on the recommendation scale and having already recommended it multiple times. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Nickel?

We have not had an issues Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Cost-Effective and Seamlessly Integrated Payment Solution"
What do you like best about Nickel?

I love that Nickel offers free ACH transactions, which is a huge benefit for us compared to other services. It's wonderful to not have to worry about fees like we did with our previous service, QuickBooks Online. I appreciate how easy it is to send a payment by simply copying the URL, making the process so much more convenient and efficient for our team. Additionally, Nickel's ability to sync smoothly with QuickBooks Online helps us maintain seamless operations and ensures our workflows are uninterrupted. The initial setup of Nickel was incredibly easy, without any complicated steps, making the transition swift and pain-free. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Nickel?

There are some aspects of Nickel that are less favorable despite the positive features. Firstly, the payment hold time is somewhat long. It's manageable, especially when compared to other services, but still, it could be improved upon. Secondly, the inability for clients to download invoices before the payment is made is inconvenient. This feature should be available prior to completing the transaction to facilitate better planning and record-keeping for clients. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simple and reliable payment platform with amazing support"
What do you like best about Nickel?

Simple and reliable payment platform with amazing support Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Nickel?

Honestly, there was really nothing to dislike especially since they did some slight tweaks to make it fit our workflow perfectly Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable, Free, and Secures ACH Transactions"
What do you like best about Nickel?

I appreciate Nickel's ACH transactionability, which gives me a reliable way of sending and receiving money. The service being free is even more important to me, as it delivers high value without any financial burden. I find it remarkable that no other service provides the same level of service that Nickel does, making it a standout choice for my payment needs. Additionally, the initial setup of Nickel was very easy, which streamlined my transition to using it for managing payments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Nickel?

I find the absence of the ability to schedule payments and the lack of recurring payments functionality limiting. These features are essential for streamlining financial management, and their absence makes the service less convenient for handling regular or future transactions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
