Without a doubt, the best feature of newswhip is being able to do a search on social networks and websites simply with one click. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Dashboard management can be confusing, it has a very short menu of features and that makes them pack a lot into just a few functions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
My team and I have been utilizing NewsWhip for quite some time now, and it has proven to be a great tool for staying ahead in the fast-paced world of news and social media. This platform offers a robust and intuitive interface, allowing us to track and analyze real-time news trends efficiently
One of the standout features of NewsWhip is its powerful analytics tools, providing in-depth insights into social engagement, trending topics, and the overall impact of news stories. The ability to monitor competitors and industry influencers gives us a strategic edge in crafting timely and engaging content
The tool's user-friendly design makes navigation a breeze, and the customizable dashboards cater to our specific needs. NewsWhip's alert system is particularly noteworthy, ensuring I am promptly notified of emerging trends or potential crises
While the tool offers a comprehensive suite of features, its learning curve is relatively gentle. Our CSM is responsive and helpful, making the overall user experience positive. NewsWhip has become an important technology tool in our monitoring toolkit and it is continuously innovating by including new features and new platforms. Highly recommend it to anyone in need of a reliable, real-time news analysis solution Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing really - I appreciate that the team consistently incorporates our feedback into their product roadmap Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Newswhip stands out as a beacon of efficiency and reliability. Their platform offers comprehensive monitoring across news and social media channels, ensuring that no vital piece of information escapes notice. The intuitive interface and versatile features make it an invaluable tool for businesses. Their customer service, however, truly sets them apart. Prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable, they address queries with the sort of attention and clarity that is all too rare in this industry. Highly recommended for anyone needing a finger on the pulse of the information age and looking to better improve an understanding of how one's business is being positioned online. Overwhelming Amount of Data: A service that delivers a vast amount of news updates can be seen as bombarding and overwhelming. However, this can also be perceived as thoroughness, ensuring that users don't miss any potentially relevant news piece. That said, it would be nice to know which taxonmy is triggering certain media to be displayed within a dashboard. This is a feature Newswhip is considering in their product roadmap. It aggregates exactly what we are looking for with a minimum of hassle. It is easy to customize searches and manipulate the results to tease out for our clients exactly what they need to know. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
How the ranking system works for results returned. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I use Spike NewsWhip to support our public relations outreach strategies and analyze our earned coverage results.
NewsWhip is incredibly user friendly, and the team is constantly updating the platform to provide new features – like the new TikTok feature. My representative Olivia is INCREDIBLY responsive and helpful; on several occassions she's curated searches for us, provided demos for users and advised us on how we can best use the platform for our goals.
I really enjoy the Alerts feature in NewsWhip and have found it helpful in client reporting. Additionally, dashboard widgets, especially the timeline widget, are incredibly helpful in assesing the effectiveness of our efforts. Dashboards are incredibly customizable based on your needs.
I think NewsWhip stands out for its strong user experience and design. It also uses unique metrics like highest velocity to identify what's trending with insights that I haven't seen leveraged by competitor platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There's not much I dislike about NewsWhip, but there are a few capabilities I would love to see incorporated over time that would be useful for my objectives!
I think it would be great to be able to easily take existing dashboards and bundle them into folders or categories. As it stands right now, we have several dashboards we created for a variety of reasons, and the sheer quantity can make it a tad difficult to navigate (though the search feature is helpful!)
I also personally preferred when the curated searches were discoverable via the side tool bar, rather than through the Dashboard feature. It was great to be able to scroll through them for relevant and trending topics! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Newswhip is fast-moving, and instantly responsive, which is invaluable when monitoring a live situation and sharing updtes with key stakeholders. The extensive Boolean queries allows us to focus in on the exact stories we want to follow, and get instant results. The insigts the platform gives on predicted interactions, highest velocity etc. are also ideal for adding perspective to an unfolding story, and in helping us plan next reactive steps. Though I understand why social media is such a focus, it would be great if interactions on web articles could be accounted for, and if print clippings could also be monitored to get full view on where my business is being spoken about. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Customization, real time, alert system, ease of use, ability to get overview top level insights as well as down to a very granular level if needed. Overall an amazing platform to work with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Twitter isn't all accounts just the "influencers" that have been added specifically. Compared to a platform like sprout that pulls in everything it just has a tendency to miss some of the smaller accounts that may not have a huge following, but one time put out a relevant tweet. Very small issue but with as good as NewsWhip is you have to get into the small details to find a real gripe with the platform since it is so good to work with as a whole. For me, the biggest benefit of using NewsWhip is that it brings stuff to me. Getting custom alerts, including daily digests of top stories, straight to my email (where I'm already working all the time) is really useful. For specific stories or for more detailed info, I can always go into the platform and explore more details, but the alerts help me keep a finger on the pulse of the many, many daily searches I follow. NewsWhip can be a bit cumbersome to set up. The onboarding teams are great about helping you initially, which I really appreciate, but it can be overwhelming to learn everything or to understand how all of the (great) features can be employed for a specific use-case. My works centered around research so NewsWhip has been very helpful for me since I can pull the historical data from few years back. The boolean query is quite powerful and beginner friendly.
The newswhip spike also came with predictive analytics, which is very useful to research and manage crisis / issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are rooms for improvement, such as a more detailed filters on news portal website.
The dashboard can only show the data for 1 year, which could be a little bit annoying when you want to get data for 2-3 years back because you have to repeat the process and export the data iteratively. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The alerting functionality is among the best I've seen in the industry (having used other products like Synthesio, Brandwatch, Sprinklr, etc). I feel confident setting up alerts that i'm not going to end up spamming my stakeholders with too many or too few alerts.
The predictive analytics for engagement is also very useful for us to keep track of emerging stories, and to easily put into context stories about our brand compared to trending stories in general.
The NewsWhip team themselves are great to work with. Quick to respond to questions and eager to hear feedback and suggestions for features/requirements that are nice to haves for us, some of which have already been implemented.
The platform itself is slick, intuititive, and easy-to-use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only slight drawbacks is the limited Twitter universe the tool monitors. This is beneficial in some ways to help reduce the amount of spam that comes through in dashboards/alerts, but as we use other social listening tech that includes the full Twitter firehose, we can't always tell an apples-to-apples story when using both platforms to report on something.
The NewsWhip Spike platform only lets you look at three months worth of data at a time. It would be useful to look at longer periods of time in one go in this view, and I understand NewsWhip are looking to make that happen. I should note it is possible to look at a longer period of time currently in NewsWhip's Analytics' platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
