I like that Navan keeps all my travel plans in one place and makes travel easy. I can keep each itinerary organized, see what my travel calendar looks like, and share an itinerary with the people I’m meeting or with family and friends who want to know I’ve arrived safely. I don’t have to answer a bunch of messages asking where I am or when I’ll arrive; I can just send the itinerary. The expense reports are great during tax season, and if I need an Uber, it’s ready by the time I leave the airport. When I have a hiccup or issue, I can go to support and they take care of it. I also like the rewards: I get points from hotels and flights, rewards for booking certain hotels through Navan, cashback when my contractors or employees book, and credit card points when I use my card. It feels like I get “quadruple the rewards,” and I don’t lose anything by using the platform. The transition was easy, and since getting onboarded I haven’t turned back. I like how easy Navan is to use. I can cancel or change a flight without speaking to an agent, which is a huge time-saver for me. I also like the chat option when I need help. When I create an event, I’m only allowed so many characters to share all the details. I then have to create and email the details to everyone, which adds another step and can be frustrating. I’d like to be able to upload a screenshot from a Word doc, like an agenda or hotel and transportation details, so everyone has the full event details in one place. As an admin who manages events, I can see whether people have booked and check their itineraries and arrival times, which helps me answer questions quickly. I like having all my reservations in one place, including my hotel, flights, and train reservations. I can pull up one trip in the app instead of checking multiple apps, which makes travel simpler when I’m on the go. I also like Navan rewards because choosing a more affordable flight or hotel can save the company money and earn me rewards I can use for personal travel with my family. The Expensify integration is convenient: I can click a button and have the expense loaded into Expensify instead of downloading and uploading it myself. Sometimes Navan doesn’t show all the flights or hotels that are available on other websites, and I’ve seen pricing discrepancies. It can sometimes be a lot cheaper to book outside Navan, even though I’ve been told the prices should be the same. Changing or canceling a reservation through Navan can also be more annoying than going directly through the airline or hotel, since having another party involved makes it a little more complicated. What should be improved is the customer service. Recently, we had an incident with some travelers who had to catch a train, and on Thursday afternoon an issue arose because the tickets for those travelers were not issued, and Navan was not able to solve the problem until Friday afternoon, considering that the travelers were going to catch the train on Monday at the first hour of the morning. As a result, we were forced to buy other tickets outside the platform, although later on, the platform took responsibility for that incident and refunded the money for the initially purchased tickets. I haven't used Navan extensively yet, but so far it has been very useful for company travel. Booking is straightforward, and I really appreciate how easy it is to get reimbursed quickly for anything I pay for myself, or to have bookings billed directly to the company so I don't have to pay in advance. I like that Navan is a user-friendly, one-stop shop for travel. I can put my credit card on file for team members who would otherwise need reimbursement, see my team’s travel, and adjust bookings as an admin. I’ve also been able to transition booking responsibility to the traveler. The guest travel feature is a game changer for executive interviews and new hires: I can email them a link and the information they need to book their own flight or hotel within our parameters, and I’m notified when they’re done. It saves me from arranging bookings over the phone and has made our travel program more efficient and professional. Setup was pretty easy, and the sales team was great at getting us onboarded. I’d still love a credit card authorization option. For team members without corporate credit cards, I’d like to book their hotels online without telling them they’ll need to put a card down for incidentals. I like that Navan shows me what’s within policy, groups my trips automatically under the city name, and keeps things like rental cars, hotels, and flights together in one trip record. The UI is easy to use, and it’s low friction to add something to a trip later if I only booked one thing first. I can add a hotel or rental car easily and route it to the right approvers with a note.
