Modern Events Calendar was easy to install, activate and implement, and I liked that I could have a list view of my events as well as a daily, weekly and monthly view in the list style. The ability to use shortcodes is nice, also, because I could modify my events all in one place without going from event post to event post if I needed to change things. The responsive design meant that I didn't have to do much with that after I made event posts. I also liked that MEC integrated with Google Calendar, and my clients liked the iCal export. I did not interact with Customer Support, because I realized that Modern Events Calendar was not the solution I needed for my use case. I have 30+ WordPress sites, and I put MEC on a couple of my sites thinking I would use it on all my other sites, too, but I uninstalled and and decided to go with the EventIN plugin, which actually does include everything for one price. As with most events calendar plugins, I dislike that you have to purchase add-ons to get, what I think, should be basic functionality, like RSVP and ticketing. Not even paying for the Pro version gets you these functionalities. After buying the Pro version you DO gain access to the RSVP addon. However, you DO NOT gain access to ticketing. You STILL have to purchase the WooCommerce Integration addon separately. Also, you can find other events plugins that will allow you to purchase a lifetime license to the Pro version of the basic plugin, like EventOn, but that's not the case with Modern Events Calendar. You have to pay yearly for everything you purchase from them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
