I've been a daily user of Microsoft Word for years, and it continues to be an essential part of my workflow. Its user-friendly interface and robust features make it my go-to for everything from drafting simple documents to creating complex reports. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
My biggest frustration with Word is the financial commitment required to use the full desktop version. While there are free, web-based versions available, the most powerful and feature-rich experience comes with a paid Microsoft 365 subscription. The fact that you have to pay a recurring annual fee for a suite of software that was once available as a one-time purchase can be a significant turn-off, especially for individual users who only need a few of the applications. It feels like you're being held hostage by a subscription model to access the full functionality of what has become the industry standard for document creation.
