Excel is at the core of any M&A job so it was essential for everyone in the company. Super easy to use once you know your shortcuts. Easy to implement, used it every day. The integration failed some times but it was easy to solve. **What do you dislike about Macabacus?** I wish you could create your own shortcuts on specific workflows. You could change the shortcut keys, but building your own new ones was a bit complicated. **What problems is Macabacus solving and how is that benefiting you?** Getting Excel and PPT shortcuts so you can be 10x more efficient on Excel and clean/stylish on PPT ### 2. I use this software daily. The xls shortcuts are almost identical to the ones I was familiar with from my wall street job (I used Factset xls macros). I cannot use xls without the shortcuts. I also link my xls spreadsheet tables to my ppt (& word) reports. Whenever I have to update the xls spreadsheet with new figures, all I have to do is refresh the linked tables in ppt which saves a TON of time. **What do you dislike about Macabacus?** Wish I took the time to understand the full power of Macabacus and was able to incorporate additional features to make my work products more efficient. **What problems is Macabacus solving and how is that benefiting you?** I only have to build a template once with XLS and PPT. Once numbers update in XLS, I can quickly refresh the PPT to incorporate. It sames a ton of time. ### 3. My most used features are: - Fast-Fill Right - Formatting (font and color cycle, cell shading cycle, border cycle) - Footnote cycle - Table format cycle - Pro precedents/dependents I would say relative to other plugins (CapitalIQ) Macabacus is more stable and less likely to crash Excel which is a huge plus. Overall Macabacus is great and I would highly recommend it. **What do you dislike about Macabacus?** There is some cross-over with keyboard shortcuts for CapitalIQ and other plugins which can cause compatibility issues and force you to remap shortcuts - not a fault of the product itself but I came across this issue early on. Also - if you are too quick on your keys you can come across "runtime" errors i.e. you didn't give the Macabacus macros enough time to do their stuff. The obvious solution to this is to have a faster computer or slower hands! **What problems is Macabacus solving and how is that benefiting you?** Formatting and tracing primarily - Excel has very poor built-in functionality for these and using Macabacus saves time and provides a more robust feature set. I have probably cut down on my model formatting time by 50%, and my models look better as I care more about formatting them nicely given the features available. ### 5. The linking between PP & Word is also much more secure than using it without Macabacus. **What do you dislike about Macabacus?** I use Macabauc for Microsoft Excel 90% of the time, and the only thing I dislike is that sometimes when I need to undo my last change, it won't take me back to my last change depending on which Macabauc function I used last. It would be helpful if it allowed you to update all at once instead of clicking individually. I truly recommend Macabacus to all my friends that spend relevant part of their days using excel. **What do you dislike about Macabacus?** What I deslike the most about Macabacus is the fact that the add in presents usability problems relatively often. ~ once a week or every two week period, the add in vanishes from my excel and I have to recall for external IT help to install it again - which takes me some precious time. **What problems is Macabacus solving and how is that benefiting you?** Macabacus allows me to create excel shortcuts that make my productivity increase sharply, allowing me to do business plans and excel spreadsheets much faster. When used, a box pops up that lets you clearly/quickly see all the all the cells (and their values) used in the calculation of the cell being audited. Makes reviewing your own model that much faster, and it's even more valuable when auditing someone else's model. There's also a significant amount of customizable shortcuts that really save time when it comes to formatting, colour coding, etc. **What do you dislike about Macabacus?** The list of features is very long, and while there are 15-20 (maybe more?) different user guides covering all of them, it is still slightly overwhelming when starting out. I've been using Macabacus for ~8 years and I'd guess that I use a fraction of the features available. With AI being the hot topic these days, maybe some engine could be built into Macabacus that learns 'how' you use Excel or what features you use most, and it would then recommend other features not currently being used within Macabacus that it determines would be most relevant / beneficial to the user. **What problems is Macabacus solving and how is that benefiting you?** Allows my work/review in Excel/Powerpoint to be much more efficient, saving me a significant amount of time relative to only using stock Excel. Love the ability to customize the formatting shortcuts and the productivity shortcuts do save quite a lot of time. **What do you dislike about Macabacus?** Quite often, the excel shortcuts will disrupt my ability to undo - for example the undo button will only undo the formatting, but will not undo my most recent text or formula inputs. It's also a bit disappointing that having paid for a solo membership, I find myself having to wait up to 30 seconds to use a significant proportion of the features. I understand you have a tiered subscription business model, but as an individual user who is already paying a lot of money for the solo membership, the wait time doesn't entice me to upgrade. It's just way to expensive. It does however make me question whether or not I want to pay so much money for a product that makes me feel like I haven't paid. **What problems is Macabacus solving and how is that benefiting you?** While Macabacus doesn't necessarily solve any issues, it does make using spreadsheets a lot faster. Most of the functionality that Macabacus offers can be done natively within the Office products, but they would just take longer. ### 11. All of them generally work very well and have become a part of daily life pretty quickly as they save lots of time. Once you get your team set up, coordinating across team becomes much easier as well. **What do you dislike about Macabacus?** Undo functionality gives a false sense of security. It doesn't work. You should model with the expectation that anything you do with Macabacus can't be undone. Also random bugs can stay in the releases for years. **What problems is Macabacus solving and how is that benefiting you?** Quick formatting. Speeding up work with shortcuts. Team coordination and brand consistency. Error checking and testing to ensure spreadsheets work prior to sending to third parties. ### 27.
