The amount of time you are able to gain when working at Excel is just insane. Excel is at the core of any M&A job so it was essential for everyone in the company. I wish you could create your own shortcuts on specific workflows. You could change the shortcut keys, but building your own new ones was a bit complicated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Alot of the functionalities were the same as the softwares used in my Investment Banking job but at a fraction of the cost. I use this software daily. The xls shortcuts are almost identical to the ones I was familiar with from my wall street job (I used Factset xls macros). I cannot use xls without the shortcuts.

I also link my xls spreadsheet tables to my ppt (& word) reports. Whenever I have to update the xls spreadsheet with new figures, all I have to do is refresh the linked tables in ppt which saves a TON of time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Macabacus is feature rich but not bloated - the plugin is designed with modelling end users in mind. My most used features are:

- Fast-Fill Right

- Formatting (font and color cycle, cell shading cycle, border cycle)

- Footnote cycle

- Table format cycle

- Pro precedents/dependents

I would say relative to other plugins (CapitalIQ) Macabacus is more stable and less likely to crash Excel which is a huge plus. Overall Macabacus is great and I would highly recommend it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There is some cross-over with keyboard shortcuts for CapitalIQ and other plugins which can cause compatibility issues and force you to remap shortcuts - not a fault of the product itself but I came across this issue early on.

Also - if you are too quick on your keys you can come across "runtime" errors i.e. you didn't give the Macabacus macros enough time to do their stuff. The obvious solution to this is to have a faster computer or slower hands! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Macabacus excels in data linking and updating. It allows users to establish links between Excel files, PowerPoint presentations, and Word documents, ensuring that changes in the source file are automatically reflected in the linked files. There's a plethora of different functions within Macabacus that make my daily tasks much quicker. The linking between PP & Word is also much more secure than using it without Macabacus. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I use Macabauc for Microsoft Excel 90% of the time, and the only thing I dislike is that sometimes when I need to undo my last change, it won't take me back to my last change depending on which Macabauc function I used last. Being able to use it in powerpoint for pictures and graphs is what I use it a lot for. It is super helpful and saves me a lot of time with excel shortcuts too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I think its slow at times when updating the pictures or graphs on powerpoint. It would be helpful if it allowed you to update all at once instead of clicking individually. Also if there was a drop down or list where you can see all the graphs and pictures and what they are linked to so you can quickly audit. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

As an Investment banking analylist, Macabacus helps me do my daily activies in excel much faster. It allows the creation and adaptation of different shortcuts that suit my specifics needs, allowing a much greater productivity and faster delivery of my tasks. What I deslike the most about Macabacus is the fact that the add in presents usability problems relatively often. ~ once a week or every two week period, the add in vanishes from my excel and I have to recall for external IT help to install it again - which takes me some precious time. Pro Precedents / Pro Dependents. When used, a box pops up that lets you clearly/quickly see all the all the cells (and their values) used in the calculation of the cell being audited. Makes reviewing your own model that much faster, and it's even more valuable when auditing someone else's model. There's also a significant amount of customizable shortcuts that really save time when it comes to formatting, colour coding, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The list of features is very long, and while there are 15-20 (maybe more?) different user guides covering all of them, it is still slightly overwhelming when starting out. I've been using Macabacus for ~8 years and I'd guess that I use a fraction of the features available. With AI being the hot topic these days, maybe some engine could be built into Macabacus that learns 'how' you use Excel or what features you use most, and it would then recommend other features not currently being used within Macabacus that it determines would be most relevant / beneficial to the user. Most useful features to me are the excel shortcuts. Love the ability to customize the formatting shortcuts and the productivity shortcuts do save quite a lot of time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Quite often, the excel shortcuts will disrupt my ability to undo - for example the undo button will only undo the formatting, but will not undo my most recent text or formula inputs.

It's also a bit disappointing that having paid for a solo membership, I find myself having to wait up to 30 seconds to use a significant proportion of the features. I understand you have a tiered subscription business model, but as an individual user who is already paying a lot of money for the solo membership, the wait time doesn't entice me to upgrade. It's just way to expensive. It does however make me question whether or not I want to pay so much money for a product that makes me feel like I haven't paid. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
