Real-time collaboration is the biggest win for my team — several of us can edit and comment on the same board live, which has cut down on a lot of meetings. I use Lucid mainly for IT infrastructure documentation mapping out network topology, Active Directory structure, and site-to-site VPN connections across our locations. What stands out most is the real-time collaboration: when I'm updating a network diagram, other team members can view or edit it simultaneously, so documentation stays current instead of living in someone's local file that goes stale. For a team managing infrastructure across multiple sites, this cuts out the back-and-forth of emailing diagrams for review or waiting on one person to finish edits before anyone else can see the latest version. From a support/onboarding standpoint, the biggest benefit has been ramping up newer IT support staff instead of a verbal walkthrough of our environment, they can visually explore an up-to-date shared diagram, which cuts down onboarding time significantly. On integrations, having it accessible alongside the rest of our workflow tools (we run primarily on Microsoft 365) means diagrams aren't siloed away from where the team already works day to day. The AI feature also gives you a quick start ease by helping you design template with just prompts. Performance has been solid even with fairly detailed, multi-page network diagrams no noticeable lag when multiple people are editing at once, which matters given we're collaborating across sites. With so many shape libraries, formatting options, and layout tools packed into the interface, it took me a while to figure out the most efficient way to build network and infrastructure diagrams early on I spent more time hunting for the right shape or tool than actually diagramming. Once I got past the initial adjustment period it became much faster, but for someone jumping in expecting something as simple as a basic drawing tool, the depth of features can feel overwhelming at first rather than immediately intuitive.
