**What do you like best about Klue Win-Loss?**

I appreciate how user-friendly this platform is. It's one of the simplest tools to get started with, requiring very little onboarding. My team can easily access information on any competitor, where we've outlined our comparisons, battlecards, overviews, as well as each competitor's strengths, weaknesses, and any recent news we need to be aware of. I also like that I can see when something was last updated.

**What do you dislike about Klue Win-Loss?**

This is a fantastic tool, though I am concerned that not all GTM teams within our organization are making use of it. Additionally, we use Crayon and have other places where we store competitive intelligence, which sometimes leads to information being spread across different platforms.

**Recommendations to others considering Klue Win-Loss:**

If you don't already have a centralized space to keep track of all your competitors, a platform like this is essential. When fully implemented across both sales and customer success teams, you can gauge its impact through improved retention rates and an increase in upsells or new deals closed. With competition at an all-time high and new AI features being launched constantly, it's more important than ever to have a transparent system that equips your teams with the resources they need to engage in these critical conversations.

**What problems is Klue Win-Loss solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Klue enables our GTM teams to have competitor battlecards readily available for our Customer Success, Sales, Partner, and Renewals teams. We also maintain information on why a prospect might choose a particular competitor, the weaknesses of those companies, and our top three selling points against each competitor, among other insights. This preparation allows us to approach prospects confidently, clearly demonstrating how we compare and why we are the better choice.

**What do you like best about Klue Win-Loss?**

The team are highly responsive, great at project managing, and excellent at delivering high quality insights in a timely fashion, plus they are generally a joy to work with. Their expertise in interview best practices helps us get answers to our questions from our customers and prospects without bias. The platform's product team are highly inquisitive and receptive to customer feedback. The verbatim quotes from these interviews, both positive and constructive, are highly motivating for our GTM teams at an individual contributor level, and helpful for strategy at the leadership level. Julie Snyder and Alexis Yeh have been phenominal to work with and I intend to work with them through the rest of my career whenever possible.

**What do you dislike about Klue Win-Loss?**

Originally, the win-loss insights weren't very deeply incorporated into the rest of the product, but I see incremental improvements. I also see they are trying to automate more of their processes through integrations, better use of tagging, etc.

**Recommendations to others considering Klue Win-Loss:**

Consider including churn/account health interviews in your program. We didn't have a ton of interviewees who had both a win interview and a churn/account health interview, but I am sure when we have enough to see patterns, that that insight will be helpful in improving our customer experience.

Conducting third-party outreach and interviews of our wins and losses, plus churned and at risk customer accounts. Synthesizing the qualitative data for better insights and recommendations on how to action on insights. Platform to view all the interviews as raw transcripts, reports, and quantify win-loss reasons.

After initially handing off our data, DoubleCheck Research by Klue handles the totality of our Win-Loss program, simplifying the process and allowing us to sit back and reap the rewards. From conducting outreach and interviews to building out the reports, DoubleCheck finds critical insights to inform our marketing approach, evaluate our sales process, and more.

**What do you dislike about Klue Win-Loss?**

DoubleCheck is currently transitioning from a third-party dashboard to its own in-house platform. Transitions are always tricky, but having a single source of truth for all Win-Loss data will ultimately optimize the customer experience. Plus, having two different dashboards to go to during the transition period gives us multiple ways to visualize our data.

In addition to delivering great insights, DoubleCheck’s team is thorough and easy to work with, and if you utilize both DoubleCheck and Klue, it gives you a complete overview of your competitive landscape in a single platform.

They're incredibly organized and they have a process that just works. We'd used 3 other vendors before but none of them had as thorough of a process for aligning stakeholder priorities with the interivew guide or pre-interview survey that DoubleCheck uses as part of their process. With DoubleCheck its clear they know how to conduct interviews without reading word for word off of a script - this was NOT our experience with other W/L vedors - including Clozd.

**What do you dislike about Klue Win-Loss?**

Nothing. They exceeded my expecations and we view them as a critical part of our team.

**Recommendations to others considering Klue Win-Loss:**

DoubleCheck isn't selling a W/L dashboard like some of the other W/L firms out there. They're selling their process and their interivewing skills. We struggled to find the right partner for almost a year but after 3 "pilot" interviews with DoubleCheck we knew that search was over. They're making our business better. Plain and simple.

DoubleCheck manages and conducts interviews with our customers on behalf of my firm. They help us not only understand why we won/lost or churned an account but what we can do to win back that customer or maintain account health. **What do you like best about Klue Win-Loss?**

DoubleCheck actually cares about the success of the program. They are essentially an extension of your own team. The team I worked with (Robert and Andre) were highly invested in making us successful and driving the program through each step. They worked to learn all of the ins and outs of the business very quickly. I highly recommend this team.

Recruiting-wise, Robert was organized and efficient, and he was flexible with the way we chose to approach reaching out to our customers and prospects.
Analysis-wise, Andre and the data team worked tirelessly to make sure our executive summary deck was executed in a way that worked for the business and our executive team. Lots of work went into this and they made iterations VERY fast.

There isn't anything I dislike about the team I worked with.

DoubleCheck is helping our competitive intel team scale by completing win-loss interviews and pulling trends/insights into an executive summary analysis. The amount of time they've saved us with completing the actual interviews and identifying trends is worth every penny. DoubleCheck has helped us establish a process and methodology around HOW we conduct our win-loss program. They are experts in their field and feel like a natural extension of our product marketing organization. In addition, the biggest value I see is their in-depth approach to research and analysis. In a short time, it feels like they really understand our business and are constantly delivering valuable data and insights from their interviews. I also expected the process of sourcing and scheduling interviews to be more difficult than it has been. It's been smooth sailing.

I can't think of anything I dislike at the point.

As a product marketing leader, I feel like win-loss naturally fits within your product marketing or compete programs vs. with sales or product. That said, you'll have much more success and fewer headaches if you have the buy-in of your sales team. Supportive reps that are eager to help make introductions will make your life a lot easier. It's important that they understand the value of the program.

Before DoubleCheck, we didn't have a strategic or consistent approach to win-loss. Our interviews and analysis of the data were ad hoc. They weren't driving important business insights and decisions.

The conversation is continuous and our research team is constantly adapting their interview approach based on emerging insights and trends. This allows us to move from anecdotes to facts to insights to action.

The quantitative pre-interview survey elements are clunky to download and process. Specifically, cutting the insights by outcome or demographic elements is difficult to do in the tool, requiring the user to download and cut the data outside the system.

Understand what will drive value to your organization in using a third party research vendor. For us, that was deep industry knowledge and a seasoned research team that can bring in insights from past experience and a nuanced understanding of the industry dynamics. We selected DoubleCheck after a detailed and competitive selection process and have been impressed with the insights they have delivered.

I appreciate their flexibility and willingness to put our best interests ahead of their bottom line. They used to conduct win/loss surveys in addition to interviews. When we decided to move the survey work in-house, they were very understanding and helped make that transition smooth. There was no awkwardness, no animosity, just great support, like a true partner.

**What do you dislike about Klue Win-Loss?**

DoubleCheck has gotten to know our industry very well since we've been working together for years, but there's no replacing your own internal analysis of the findings. It's impossible for them to know what elements might be hot topics internally or what insights might be a goldmine, so sometimes little things get missed. That said, I think they do better than most of our service partners and I don't think any external vendor can it 100% right. DoubleCheck gets us 95% of the way there and it's worth every penny!

For companies seeking DoubleCheck's services, I encourage you to do some homework to determine how you plan to make the insights from your win/loss program actionable. DoubleCheck can't do that for you and you won't be successful if you simply deliver interesting transripts.

**What do you like best about Klue Win-Loss?**

There are a few reasons why we chose DoubleCheck over other players in the Win-Loss space, such as IcebergIQ or Clozd:
- DoubleCheck seemed to have the most experienced researchers, which is very important to us. We wanted the best possible insights.
- Other vendors provided a technology platform, but we didn't see much need for software. Our goal was to gather insights. We have many other repositories where we can store those insights. We did not need another tool in our tech stack.
- The sales process was smooth, and the team seemed easy to work with and highly consultative. Our Research Director has only confirmed this for us.

I especially value their Learning Objectives process, which allowed us to get feedback from our executive team early on - explicitly asking them what they wanted to get out of our Win-Loss program. This process helped us direct our program and got us early buy-in from our executive team.

**What do you dislike about Klue Win-Loss?**

There is not much I dislike about DoubleCheck; they have been wonderful working with. I wish we could do even more interviews!

I would recommend looking at as many vendors as possible, considering whether or not you need a dedicated technology platform to accompany your Win-Loss insights, and getting to know the research team as best you can.

I like that they understand my industry enough to ask the right follow-up questions and probe where needed. The reports are easy to access and analyze. They let the buyers open up and share candid feedback we may not have received internally.

**What do you dislike about Klue Win-Loss?**

Some of the analytics were not the strongest. The text tagging does not work well with smaller sample sizes of around 13 interviews. Seems better suited to high volume surveys. We did all of our own Competitive Intelligence, so I cannot comment on executive reports, good or bad.

They are a good provider of objective and insightful win-loss interviews and surveys. They are knowledgable in tech and service industries. A key to a successful Win-Loss interview program is getting a good pool of candidates for DoubleCheck to speak with and coordinating with your own Sales teams.

DoubleCheck provides a higher quality of analysis and more depth of insights in each interview than other providers we've used in the past.  Having a full team of analysts, editorial, outreach and support professionals to back our win-loss program is hugely beneficial. I love that we are paired with an analyst who knows our industry and also appreciate having access to a very flexible reporting tool that's easy to search and customize.

The tagging they use through Dovetail is a great way to turn qualitative feedback into quantitative trends, but it definitely requires some ongoing involvement to ensure things are being summarized and tagged appropriately. And tags aren't always consistent across different cohorts of reports (i.e. quarterly batches), so it can be harder to look at trends across different cohorts because the tagging architecture isn't consistent.

Make sure you get alignment from your internal stakeholders on what the learning objectives for the program are. This will ensure DoubleCheck asks the right questions during their interviews and that you're looking for the right information. We initially came to DoubleCheck because we started to expand our product capabilities to the point that we entered a new market. This market is saturated with vendors so competitive insights are critical to our ability to sell which is how we became interested in win loss reports. We also were curious to see if our understanding of why we lost a deal was similar to the customer's reasoning on why we lost. In addition, we wanted to understand if there was a difference between the two, why did it exist.

**What do you like best about Klue Win-Loss?**

DoubleCheck works with many software vendors, so they have a vast amount of experience running effective win loss programs. I'm in a unique position where competitive intelligence is not my full-time role so I wanted to work with a company that could give me the tools and confidence to run the program effectively. DoubleCheck is consultative, completely tailoring their win loss program to your company's needs. They did their due diligence upfront to understand our company and what our executive team was looking to get out of the program. We were having challenges initially with internal buy-in and they offered a lot of guidance to get the support of our internal stakeholders. I have been consistently impressed with their customer-first approach. They constantly ask for feedback on what they can do better and are always offering to help pull together data for presentations or any other content needs you may have. In my experience with outside vendors, DoubleCheck is by far the most proactive team I've ever worked with.

**What do you dislike about Klue Win-Loss?**

The only downside isn't related to DoubleCheck but more so the nature of running a win loss program. I caution anyone looking to start this type of program to ensure they have the full support of the Sales organization. If your Sales team is unwilling to make introductions to contacts at companies where you have won and lost deals, you will be very frustrated with the results. We received initial pushback from the Sales organization but were able to get them on board through sales leadership. We then took the insights we gained through the reports and reported them back to the field. As a result, we are met with much less resistance when we ask Sales for introductions to their contacts.

We have a lot more competitive content as a result of this program. We have created win slides vs. key competitors that have been used in internal enablement sessions and presentations with prospective competitors. One of the unexpected benefits is that with the information we've collected in loss reports we have been able to re-open several opportunities. If one of those deals close, this program will have a significant positiive ROI!

I’ve worked with Doublecheck on projects to better understand why my company has won/lost deals. The results have provided insights that confirmed our suspicions as well as some surprising results which meant we changed our messaging and sales enablement. Our results were shared with our execs. who were very impressed with outcome.

Doublecheck’s process is after our kickoff meeting, we met weekly with Doulbecheck to get update status and for Doublecheck to share findings. To accelerate the process, our sales people sent an email introducing Doublecheck. Doublecheck followed up to interview.

Doublecheck reporting tools, excellent staff that came up with results,  business process, and great community that provides networking  and sharing best practices opportunities. The upside was we found our competitors had huge gaps with their products that we were unaware of.

DoubleCheck conducted the first win/loss program for Oracle Analytics and did so on a global basis.  The insights they identified are being integrated into our marketing message and product roadmap.  The program also provided the voice of the customer and non-customers on why they chose Oracle or an alternative.  Retaining just one  additional customer more than pays for the cost of the program.
