I've been using Freshbooks since 2011. It's a really easy to use accounting platform for anyone without an accounting background. I'm a freelancer so it's very easy to use their time tracking and bill my hours to clients as well as creates estimates, invoice project based work and set automatic monthly payments. It has a lot of great features that you can get up and running very quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about FreshBooks? It is terribly expensive compared to other similar services but has always been worth it in my opinion. However, recently they've changed their payment policies so that now, when a customer pays an invoice FreshBooks holds that payment for however long they'd like (some recent payments have taken a WEEK!) before passing the funds to my bank. They will remove the hold but only if you pay for their most expensive plan. If you're the type of business that needs money and relies on cashflow - stay away!! There are much better options out there. And I fear this new strategy of theirs shows a new attitude to freelancers and small business that is much less supportive and more predatory than what it used to be. What I like best about FreshBooks is its clean and intuitive design. It makes invoicing and managing finances straightforward, which is essential for staying organized as a freelancer. What I dislike about FreshBooks is the limitation on the number of clients for certain plans and the need for workarounds to manage more clients. As a premium paying user, these restrictions feel frustrating, especially when I have to delete and undelete clients just to stay within the limit. I started using Freshbooks eight years ago to manage the finances of my executive coaching business. It's simple and easy to use. I have a lot of recurring business. Freshbooks allows me to set up recurring billing with ease. As a non-financial person, they make it very eas and intuitive to run my business. They also have direct connect access so my CPA can log in and see my billing, expenses and reports to come up with quick answers to any more technical questions I may have.
