It took me a bit, but I like the side pane instead of the layer of tabs in Classic. **What do you dislike about Kinetic?** My opinion is Epicor might not be ready to enforce everyone onto Kinetic cloud. Our team wonders sometimes if our customizations make things not seem to work, but it seems Epicor is sometimes to blame, also. We can be actively working in Epicor, haven’t stepped away, and get the Lifetime Token error. I hate when users complain about “more clicks”, but there really does seem to be more clicks. We aren’t a company that runs production so we have to customize some things for our engineer to order company, and have great developers, but it seems to not be as easy to use as Classic. Kinetic seems some times half-baked, like it was rushed without proper testing. **What problems is Kinetic solving and how is that benefiting you?** We put 11 sites on our most recent implementation and it now has our company off home-grown systems and working on the same system, working on the same processes, and tracking parts from one site to the next. ### 19. There is also the customizability provided through things like BPMs, BAQs, and the Application Studio. We haven't used it as much as I'd like to, but the Learning Center seems very useful for teaching new implementations, as well as general tips and tricks. **What do you dislike about Kinetic?** There are some things that feel unnecessarily limited by Kinetic, whether through transactions or administration. There are a few issues I've faced that can ONLY be solved by Epicor Support, which over time feels like a bit of a hassle, to have to go through them instead of solving it ourselves as a company. **What problems is Kinetic solving and how is that benefiting you?** Kinetic does a great job at managing all of the data we need to have centralized for our ERP system, as long as the users themselves are properly using it. The challenge is that everyone at Epicor seems to work in silos. They don't seem to even be able to answer simple questions outside their silo. Also, I have to design a custom interface for my company and I'm having technical challenges that are even puzzling my consultants. I'm not trying to do anything that fancy and I'm having challenges getting things to work. **What problems is Kinetic solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are on our third tool in the past 5 years. We required a highly customized quote interface and we were told Epicor could provide it. The support consultants have been good and know their stuff. The function of Application Studio has been a challenge. We have had multiple technical challenges getting simple components to work correctly. If we can't get the customized quote tool working correctly Kinetic won't help us. We go live in August. ### 21. The web UI has been a great improvement in both accessibility and performance. Every year, we expand our usage of Kinetic in the company which continues to improve our tracking and efficiencies. **What do you dislike about Kinetic?** One challenge we have with Kinetic is the amount of time and expense required to provide quality, accurate reporting. There are many tools available to us including BAQs, Dashboards, PowerBI integration, etc. However, knowing which tables/fields to use to develop accurate reporting can be challenging. I wish that Kinetic came with more out-of-box tools that simply the task of creating baseline reporting. Even tools like Grow and EDD require a significant amount of set-up to get to baseline reporting. **What problems is Kinetic solving and how is that benefiting you?** Kinetic is helping us better track our production output and inventory management. ### 22. Kinetic is able to be configured to the particular needs of any company, regardless of the business. Most other software systems do not offer the flexibility of Kinetic. **What do you dislike about Kinetic?** Out of the box, the Kinetic user interface isn't as user friendly for people that need to update or review a lot of data as part of their daily functions. There is a lot of empty space without a lot of data. A more compact view with more data visibility would be better in my opinion. Having to go through options listed on the side of the window can be annoying. Out of the box, audit logs must be turned on for almost everything, making it difficult to analyze root causes and/or offer re-training when something goes wrong with a record. On the subject of audit, there is currently no logging of deletions that I know of. It also has outstanding search features, and it allows personalization that enhances the search capabilities. The "Explorer" screens make it easy to find related information. For example, in Order Entry you can easly access the packing slip, and invoice, as well as see if the invoice has been paid without ever leaving order entry **What do you dislike about Kinetic?** It can be harder to identify the table/field names. In the classic version you could easly identify a field in the screen from the help menu. If you are a classic user it can be difficult to find the same fields in the Kinetic screens. **What problems is Kinetic solving and how is that benefiting you?** Taking advantage of queries, custom updatable dashboards, and connecting via OData Kinetic allows us better control of our data. There are too many drop downs compared to what used to be a very simple intuitive UI. It has become harder to find simple things, the Save, Delete, Print, etc buttons used to always be in the same place and have since moved. Kinetic is also stuck on white which is hard on the eyes when we used to be able to change our color theme as we saw fit. Kinetic is also a bit weak when it comes to finance.
