**What do you like best about Empyrean?**

I really like how Empyrean is very friendly and client focused. They are super responsive and knowledgeable, always taking the time to learn about their clients and our policies. They're always super quick to reply and willing to help, which I find really valuable. The initial setup of Empyrean was also very easy and right on time, which was great.

**What do you dislike about Empyrean?**

It's a little pricey but I would love to see more technical support like in carrier feed building and maintaining

**What problems is Empyrean solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Empyrean helps us handle employee questions via email or calls and organize our benefits. We switched to Empyrean for support in maintaining benefits and expertise in dealing with insurance providers.

**What do you like best about Empyrean?**

Empyrean offers a dependable and user-friendly benefits administration platform that helps streamline processes for both employees and HR teams. The interface is well-organized, making navigation simple, and the workflows are thoughtfully designed to help prevent mistakes during enrollment and life-event updates. I’ve found their customer support team to be both responsive and well-informed, which makes resolving any issues much more efficient. What stands out most is the platform’s stability—it consistently operates smoothly, without the outages or slowdowns that are common in many other benefits systems.

**What do you dislike about Empyrean?**

The platform would be improved by the addition of more modern analytics dashboards and enhanced self-service reporting features. At present, some configuration changes require assistance from support rather than being fully manageable by administrators, which can slow down the process of making updates. Integration with certain HRIS systems sometimes takes longer than anticipated, and the documentation for advanced features could be more thorough. Although the core product is robust, increasing flexibility and providing greater transparency around configuration would further enhance the overall experience.

**What problems is Empyrean solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Empyrean simplifies the benefits administration process from open enrollment through ongoing eligibility management, significantly cutting down on manual tasks and minimizing compliance risks. By centralizing data and automating routine activities, it provides employees with a clear and accurate understanding of their benefits options. As a result, operational efficiency has improved, administrative burdens have lessened, and employee satisfaction with the benefits experience has grown. Additionally, the platform supports accuracy across various vendors, which is essential for audit preparedness and maintaining compliance throughout the year.

**What do you like best about Empyrean?**

First off, the people at Empyrean are great to work with, which matters a lot when trying to fix issues or get something custom/nuanced implemented. Empyrean is always trying to improve the member experience and finding ways to improve their prodcut/technology. The employer portal is very easy to use and provides a lot of useful information on active employees, terminated employees and retirees. They can work with you on customizing reports for you as well, which I appreciate because it helps alleviate some work on my end. The administration fees are also very reasonable compared to other vendors.

**What do you dislike about Empyrean?**

The call center can be a little inconsistent. Sometimes you'll get someone great that knows a lot about your company's benefits, but sometimes you'll get someone that needs more guidance from their manager or doesn't provide a clear answer to the member. This can cause a negative experience for members, and then the Benefits team hears about it. However, the majority of the time it's a positive experience - it's only been about a handful of times where there have been dissatisfied members.

**What problems is Empyrean solving and how is that benefiting you?**

More recently, they have tested and come up with a solution to accelerate a company HSA contribution. Typically, we pay an additional wellness HSA contribution in January of each year, but since we may be acquired by another company before then, we decided to pay out that wellness incentive earlier. Empyrean has tested and said they can accomodate the accelerated payout and also avoid employees going over the IRS annual limits.

**What do you like best about Empyrean?**

Empyrean has been a great partnership for us for several years now.  We really value the relationship as it helps us streamline our benefits administration.  The implementation was easy and the customer support for our administrators and employees is high touch.  We have worked on several projects with Empyrean had great project management and support.  Our Client Service Manager is great to work with!

**What do you dislike about Empyrean?**

The cost of some of the service is high but reasonable to the market.  Project cost is extra for services, support, and configuration.

**What problems is Empyrean solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Empyrean is our third-party administrator for our benefits support and administration.  They engage directly with the benefit carriers and support our employees with questions allow our benefts team to be small, streamlined, and strategic.

**What do you like best about Empyrean?**

The audit checks that are done when our weekly interface is sent.  Any errors are brought to our attention and corrected immediately.

**What do you dislike about Empyrean?**

I can't think of anything that I dislike about Empyrean's system.

It helps us to feel comfortable that our employee benefit elections are complete and correct and we can view current elections as well as history.

**What do you like best about Empyrean?**

Our employees are able to transition seamlessly from one department to another thanks to the Empyrean team, which functions as an extension of our benefits team. They seem to work well as a partner with us, actually hear our issues, and make improvements when they can.

**What do you dislike about Empyrean?**

Process issues included the need to upgrade dashboards and reporting systems for employers so that specific real-time data points may be easily accessible to them.

**What problems is Empyrean solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They comprehend our benefit programs and interact with our workforce effectively, ensuring compliance while managing call center staffing and preventing the need for extra hires.

**What do you like best about Empyrean?**

Empyrean specializes in core benefits administration services and they do it well.  The client service team is excellent and very responsive. I feel like they are a vendor that partners well with us and really listens to our concerns and implements changes where possible. 


**What do you dislike about Empyrean?**

They currently outsource COBRA and direct bill administration.  This can sometimes cause challenges with processing data and requires extra coordination between the two different vendors.   Some of the employer reporting tools and dashboards could be updated so that certain bits of real time data is available to employers with ease at their fingertips.  

**Recommendations to others considering Empyrean:**

If your firm is looking for a solid benefits administration platform with a supportive team that is competent and responsive I believe you should give Empyrean a shot. While the platform does have decision model capabilities, it could use some work to incorporate plan cost in their algorithm. They could also improve HSA functionality to allow employees to front load accounts and/or enter in the amount of their pay check deduction vs. the annual election amount. What I like most is the consistency of the platform and the partnership with the service team.

We have outsourced our core benefits administration services to Empyrean. Which results in a savings associated with not having to hire extra employees, manage call center staff while insuring we remain compliant

Seems like everyone we have dealt with is extremely knowledgeable in H&W benefits regulations - all SMEs.   In addition everyone goes above and beyond to help our company out.

was charged alot for active enrollment for call center - was quite a sticker shock

The Empyrean team is really like an extension of our benefits team.  Our employees give nothing but positive feedback.

We've had some process challenges, but the team hung in there with us and helped us resolve them.

Empyrean is literally like adding a handful of headcount to your team.  They understand our benefits offerings and communicate them accurately to our employee population.
