## Emma Reviews
  ### 1. The tool you expected to create newsletters.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robert W. | Customer Support Professional. , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2019

**What do you like best about Emma?**

What I like the most is how easy it is to use it. I also like that you can import your contacts with a spreadsheet and not have to manually enter the email addresses. Ideal for professional newsletters, you can also learn without training which is excellent and saves a lot of time.

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

The only thing I do not like is its price since it is a bit expensive.

**Recommendations to others considering Emma:**

If you need to make newsletters this is the perfect tool. I recommend it since it is very useful and easy to use. You will always get a timely and complete response to the product questions.

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No problem to solve for the moment.

  ### 2. Great email platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rose E. | Executive Consultant, Education Management, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 27, 2019

**What do you like best about Emma?**

You can see who clicks on your links and exactly what they click on. Also I love seeing what time of day people open up the email. I also like seeing who unsubscribes... I don't like to waste time on people not interested.

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

Creating visual things like new boxes is a bit laborious. It is hard to just drop a line of text, takes a little bit of practice. You definitely need to be a slight bit savy to work with it well.

**Recommendations to others considering Emma:**

You need to be ready to learn a little about how to place pictures and change font.

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Building clients, getting people to come to my trunk shows. Allows people to schedule appointments with links right there.

  ### 3. Excellent tool for staying in touch

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** nancy c. | Communications Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 21, 2019

**What do you like best about Emma?**

One of the best features is seeing who has opened your mail, when they did so, and who did not. It is also interesting to see who ops out.

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

It runs a bit slow for me - always has. I'm finding out that other users are saying the same thing. It likely wouldn't appear so slow if other web-based applications weren't so fast.

**Recommendations to others considering Emma:**

a really good value for the dollar spent

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I don't have to worry about emailing someone twice - the system weeds out duplicates and always compares a new list to those who have opted out so you do not email someone by mistake.

  ### 4. Does what it needs to most of the time...

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hank S. | Digital Communications Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2019

**What do you like best about Emma?**

- Easy to update and maintain email lists
- Test emails actually look like the original
- Colors are completely customizable

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

- Templates are rigid and can be hard to work with
- Features often glitch
- Images do not upload consistently (sizes are altered, orientation of image changes on its own, etc...)
- The copy/paste feature does not work as stated in the system

**Recommendations to others considering Emma:**

Test platforms like Marketo or Constant Contact in conjunction with Emma. You may find that certain platforms have key features or functionality that are crucial to your team and missing from other options.

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed an email platform that allowed us to stay on brand, reach targeted audiences, and look professional.

Emma has helped us realized these goals, although not always in the most elegant fashion.

  ### 5. Emma works for email marketing

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Courtney S. | Manager of Marketing and Communications, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 10, 2019

**What do you like best about Emma?**

Ability to segment audience and recreate mailings from past mailings. The templates are nice but could have a bigger selection with more customization available.

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

I dislike that there is not a lot of customization options for the mailings. I would like to be able to do one main article then have columns of paragraphs underneath the main article.

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Able to effectively communicate with a wide audience and see the analytics of who is interacting with our newsletters.

  ### 6. it is an email marketing software which gives all tools

**What do you like best about Emma?**

they are helpful in sending emails for the subscribers who are really interested and need to connect you, emails can be better with the help of the powerful automation and also personalization feature.

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

nothing like that, they have an approval dashboard and camping management and template sharing control to manage the customers

**Recommendations to others considering Emma:**

with the pre-built app and integration, we can use our data to power highly personalized messaging

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

we can test different aspects of your email with a small percentage of your audience and send the winner to the rest of your list

  ### 7. Excellent product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richard S. | Associate Director Administrative Services, University Housing, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 04, 2019

**What do you like best about Emma?**

Data tracking and metrics. Granular insights into every contact's open/click history. Easy set up of specific, targeted contact groups. Fantastic reporting of metrics. Integrated mobile app.

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

editing content of emails is a little clunky, and the formatting can be a challenge. Lack of a simple "undo" function instead of reverting to previous versions. In app spellcheck difficult to see with color deficiencies in vision.

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tracking of emails sent, content and contact management, assessment, and verification of communication history with individual clients. A great help in determining best practice in our messaging, and in holding students accountable to information received but ignored. Excellent resource for collaborative editing of html rich emails among work group and in staging planned communications on a schedule.

Emma have made it easy for me to share any form of digital information

  ### 10. Satisfactory

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2019

**What do you like best about Emma?**

I like that various fonts can be pasted.

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

There is a glitch when moving images and text boxes up or down- it doesn’t accurately drop to the desired area.

**Recommendations to others considering Emma:**

Only use it if you need eCommerce capabilities

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It’s not as easily customizable as Constant Contact. It has e-commerce capabilities.

  ### 11. emma’s review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Government Relations | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2019

**What do you like best about Emma?**

Emma's email marketing platform makes it easy for teams of all sizes to create and collaborate on beautiful campaigns across departments or locations, delivering a seamless brand experience that increases engagement and drives more revenue from email.

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

Some of the changes to the Audience. You should be able to minimum keep the First and Last name showing with the email in the groups and searches.

**Recommendations to others considering Emma:**

You should at least have a customize the group views that the customers can change to their preference.

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Emma is designed for marketing teams at businesses of all sizes with tailored editions for agencies, universities and franchises.

  ### 12. Basic, but solid

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 27, 2019

**What do you like best about Emma?**

Easy interface and WYSIWYG makes for simple newsletter creation

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

Does not have any automation capabilities and unless you pay LOTS extra they don't have a native way to connect to a CRM and track a single user to a single account. This means if the same user exists in 2 list, they are counted twice.

**Recommendations to others considering Emma:**

Keep pushing support. I often find that they will add functionality to road map when pushed.

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were looking to do a single newsletter to internal audience. We've achieved this goal, but the downside has been we can't do single emails to a new group without exceeding our account limits and getting expensive bills.

  ### 13. Emma

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2019

**What do you like best about Emma?**

Emma is so easy to understand and to teach others.

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

N/A

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We analyzed our email marketing much more in-depth than ever before because of Emma. We learned so much and never realized we were ever missing out on so much info.

  ### 14. Overall easy to use to use.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Medical Devices | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Emma?**

Basically anyone could figure out how to design and send emails.

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

Lack of customization. I wish I could change the overall appearance of the emails but it is somewhat restricted.

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easily sending out mass quantity of emails to specific groups.

  ### 15. Professional and Competent Software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Writing and Editing | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 26, 2019

**What do you like best about Emma?**

I would say the aesthetic of this software is both beautiful and easy to use. I can create different sections in which I post my work, and can return to these at any time. This helps me maintain an organized platform for drafting and completing different projects and works.

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

Sometimes the links for posting can be a bit complicated, but overall I have no issues. Learning the system can be a bit complicated, but once I figured out all the tools I had no issues.

**Recommendations to others considering Emma:**

Make sure you have people on your team who are competent and knowledgable about the software and tools, navigation, etc, and this system will work well.

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it primarily for compiling portfolios. I can set up different sections, which helps me keep my work organized. It also comes equipped with a large variety of editing tools which are helpful both for the editor and for the writer. Many other softwares rely on other processors such as word and "track changes," whereas this one has its own set of internal tools.

  ### 16. Not super user friendly, better options available

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 29, 2019

**What do you like best about Emma?**

The software is easy to use and follows a good system for using templates.

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

The line up of wording and spacing is very uneven and difficult to use. There isn’t much room for
Customization and adding media is tough.

**Recommendations to others considering Emma:**

Use it for general mailing, extra features not super available

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Emma to keep in contact with our mailing lists. For the price it works for basic mailings and general communication, especially with our sales force.

  ### 17. Best email marketing tool!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jalisa L. | marketing associate, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2019

**What do you like best about Emma?**

I use Emma at work and I love it. Its super easy to use, lots of great template choices, and I love the analytics, I'm able to see in depth open rate results. A lot of people in my organization use it too so I love the team feature where I can see what everyones sending to stay consistent.

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

Theres not really much I don't like, its a great product. The only downfall is its not free like Mailchimp but I believe its worth it

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps with consistent brand messaging, easy system for everyone to use, modern templates

  ### 18. Emma takes the guesswork out of email marketing

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Evan H. | Digital Engagement Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 11, 2019

**What do you like best about Emma?**

Emma makes email marketing a breeze with things like templates, custom groups, and automation.

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

There are some limitations to the templates--there is no WYSIWYG/HTML editor.

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Emma to send email marketing and fundraising messages to our alumni and friends. Emma makes it easy to manage our alumni groups and target them accordingly.

  ### 19. User Friendly Email System

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Emma?**

I like the user interface and the easily illustrated email analytics. It is also easy to load data into Emma.

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

I don't use Emma enough to have constructive feedback to this question.

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Emma to send specific one off emails when the student data is outside of the CRM.

  ### 20. Emma.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 20, 2019

**What do you like best about Emma?**

I love how easy this platform is to use. Also, how easy it is to utilize it. I really like the templates they offer. Also, their customer service, every time I need help with the Emma platform, they are there to help.

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

The only drawback that it might bring is that you have to pay extra to be able to use it with other programs.

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping clients and having all the support is very easy with Emma, and we can also communicate in a simple and direct way so that clients remain interested.

  ### 21. Experience with Emma

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Keith O. | Director, Communications, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2019

**What do you like best about Emma?**

It's relatively easy to use, easy to teach to people who aren't tech-savvy, and the list management is intuitive. Also, it's pretty inexpensive.

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

There are some small UX/design features that I find frustrating. For example, sometimes padding images or breaks can be quite clunky. HTML knowledge is required to do that work. I also don't love the small, medium, large photo constraints. There should either be more options or the ability to customize sizes. Lastly, the saving function doesn't always work.

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it for external communications, internal communications, and communicating with alumni/friends/VIPs.

  ### 22. Perfect for Marketers

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gerson P. | Social Media & Online Comms Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2019

**What do you like best about Emma?**

I enjoy the integrations currently available and the ability to track events and ROI. We use EventBrite for most of our events and this is a great integration tool.

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

More fonts should be available, and greater design flexibility.

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Communicating with a membership base of over 3000 and reaching potential donors.

  ### 23. Good, solid email marketing platform

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jay L. | Marketing Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2019

**What do you like best about Emma?**

Good section of ready made templates. The interface between creating the email and sending it is nicely intuitive. Lots of drag and drop additions available.

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

Formatting of certain areas of your emails is an issue. for instance, many times the buttons and dividers change shape and color. Fonts and sizes are difficult to control between applications. Spacing and text wrap do not work consistently. Adding new mail lists is counter-intuitive and takes some getting used to.

**Recommendations to others considering Emma:**

Like any email marketing platform, Emma needs getting used to to figure out quirks and shortcuts.

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are definitely growing our customer base and have a very good open rate and click thru on our emails. thus are brand awareness is building in the markets we are targeting.

  ### 24. Excellent

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in E-Learning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 05, 2019

**What do you like best about Emma?**

I love that Emma is a local start up that has taken off and become successful. Yet even wirh all their accolades and the money pouring in from outside investors, Emma has stayed loyal to the small businesses that helped it get on its feet.

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

Their pricing structure, which is tiered, won’t meet everyone’s needs. Additionally, for those of us who dislike interacting with a human when working with technology, Emma isn’t for you. Client interaction is top-notch though.

**Recommendations to others considering Emma:**

Talk through any concerns with their client team. They all have proven highly ethical.

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The reporting capabilities, all with a 24 hour turnaround, are invaluable for business owners. Personally the hands-on approach Emma’s account executives adhere to is a major selling point.

  ### 25. Decent-Good basic email marketing software with low integrity and customer appreciation

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Karl T. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2018

**What do you like best about Emma?**

Emma provides very aesthetically pleasing emails while being user friendly. This product is competitive with other basic email marketing SAAS products such as Constant Contact and Mail Chimp and wins in many categories against these providers.

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

Trust and integrity. Don't let their sales staff fool you on their upgraded packages. This is a very basic easy to use email service, that's it. Their upgraded packages which claim to add advanced features and automation don't hold a candle to a true email automation SAAS product such as Infusionsoft etc. Their sales account reps make big claims on the capability of the features but when actually using them, the workarounds that you will need to do are tedious. We have been using Emma for many years because of the attractive email layouts and ease of use. When we saw the new upgraded tools and the functionality promised by the sales rep we were very excited. Unfortunately after really diving in, we found that the tools were not capable of effectively executing the processes and automation sequences that we needed. Soon after we signed the upgrade, we relayed the concern of the program not performing as advertised. We were met with a reminder that we signed a one year contract on the upgrade and that we'd have to stick it out. Did I mention that prior to this we were customers for over 5 years? Because of this, we will be cancelling our entire account when the upgraded package expires. It's unfortunate, as we would have continued to be customers for many years to come. It's definitely not worth the price especially if you have need for more advanced features or if you want to do business with a company that appreciates you. I would not recommend doing business with Emma.

Update: As many will notice, an Emma team member responded to my review and left a phone number to call to speak about my Emma experience. I finally decided to give them a call. As it turns out this is their support line and I was on hold for 18 minutes before ending my call. That being said, if you need support as a customer, your experience may be the same.

**Recommendations to others considering Emma:**

If you are comparing the product to basic email providers like Mail Chimp and Constant contact, it competes and from my experience offers better designs. Looking for automation and other advanced features? Look elsewhere. Looking for a company that values your business and has ethical sales practices, definitely look elsewhere.

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Good for basic, quick and attractive email broadcasts.

**Official Response from Katie Watts:**

> Hi there, Karl. Appreciate you sharing your feedback here, and so glad you enjoy the snazzy design functionality of the Emma application! I hate to hear that you weren’t satisfied with the additional features enabled with your package upgrade. We certainly do value you as a customer, and we strive to prioritize customer experience in all of our interactions! I see you’ve chatted with our Support team on contacts and automation questions several times since upgrading, and I’d love to chat further directly around the specifics of your account and that experience — you can reach me at (888) 493-2525 or support@myemma.com!

  ### 26. E-Mail Marketing at an affordable cost.

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Music | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 10, 2019

**What do you like best about Emma?**

we loved testing Emma because it made the relatively mundane task of e-mail marketing quick and streamlined.

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

We found Emma to be somewhat costly, especially for our application.

**Recommendations to others considering Emma:**

Look at the scalability and if the pricing is worth it for you.

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are currently looking for an e-mail marketing solution and Emma was one of the products we tested. We needed a way to manage and automate our e-mail marketing.

  ### 27. Excellent for emails!

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stephanie S. | Customer Service Manager, Printing, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2019

**What do you like best about Emma?**

I love how there are so many templates and how easy it is to use

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

I wish you could customize a bit more with the colors of the templates

**Recommendations to others considering Emma:**

The program is very easy to use with the templates and gives a lot of information about your emails and the customers who read them.

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are getting out more awareness of some of our products and we are able to use it to reach more customers

  ### 28. Great analytics service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Events Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 06, 2019

**What do you like best about Emma?**

Great analytics service that helps to see marketing outreach efforts

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

Kind of confusing layout. Might have a learning curve

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Analytics and marketing outreach

  ### 29. Solid product, but not the most sophisticated

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2019

**What do you like best about Emma?**

Emma's easy to use interface, especially for those new to email marketing and simple coding, was very welcome.

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

The data analytics for Emma leave much to be desired if you really want to drill down into specific details about individuals.

**Recommendations to others considering Emma:**

If you aren't quite looking for a full CRM tool at this point, Emma is a solid option to get your communication out to large groups. Also, the simple data (open, completed sent, etc) give you some idea of the success of your messaging.

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We utilized this for mass email communication to prospective students.

  ### 30. Highly recommend Emma!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 02, 2019

**What do you like best about Emma?**

It's SO easy to navigate and user-friendly! I love that it's extremely easy to set up campaigns and segment your audience by a variety of different characteristics - location, last purchase, etc.

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

The only con of this program is that it's fairly expensive compared to other email marketing platforms but I think it's worth the premium cost.

**Recommendations to others considering Emma:**

It's worth the premium cost!

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We tried two other platforms before switching to Emma - the switch saves us time and effort on a weekly basis. It organizes data for you, templates are easy to create and customize for each campaign and the reporting is extremely helpful to see what's working and how campaigns can improve.

  ### 31. Glitchy, but not all bad

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2019

**What do you like best about Emma?**

I like the ability to put images within a text paragraph. It looks clean when the program doesn't malfunction on you. The layouts themselves are a good attempt at modern style, but for the most part turn out like a bad 90s computer program.

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

Emma is mostly disappointing. When you try to resize headlines, titles, even basic text in the box, the sizes completely change and your spacing gets messed up--and then I have to spend another 20 minutes repasting all the text back, which doesn't always work. I also don't like how the layouts all have a sidebar. I find it makes the final product look more 90s and old school than if there were cleaner styles to work off of. You also can't use crtl z to undo or any other shortcut commands. The process of using Emma is arduous and endlessly filled with glitches. It was an ineffective program for creating a well-styled and efficient newsletter.

**Recommendations to others considering Emma:**

Use Mailchimp instead

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Emma for a monthly newsletter. The benefits are I do not need to know HTML to use it. That's about it.

  ### 32. There are better options

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 28, 2019

**What do you like best about Emma?**

That Emma constantly saves your work. You're never left in a situation where your hard-won edits didn't save.

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

Not intuitive whatsoever to upload user lists, and create mailing lists from there. Even within the same campaign, it was extremely complicated and time-consuming to segment distribution lists.
Email analytics were much lower in Emma than other marketing email platforms used in the past.

**Recommendations to others considering Emma:**

There are other, better options! Choose carefully.

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's not solving problem well, given the low delivery. Analytics confirmed much lower than industry average on the delivery, open rate and click through stats. It created additional work to send our event emails via alternate other methods - which was time-consuming and, frankly, unnecessary.

  ### 33. User Friendly Marketing software

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Caroline M. | Project Specialist, Hospital & Health Care, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2018

**What do you like best about Emma?**

I liked that I could send a lot of clients email materials quickly and with a format that fit our company's branding.

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

I was not a fan of removing duplicates contacts and there was not an easy way to fix that issue. I would have to manually go in and delete misspellings with the same email and that was rather tedious.
A lot of the time, our marketing emails would be sent to the spam filter, which caused an annoyance. Other friends using Emma also experienced the same issue.

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It was a fairly easy to use interface after working with it for a bit. It allowed us to send a lot of emails to clients with not a lot of effort past what is normally expected.

  ### 34. Great Email Marketing Platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lauren S. | Digital Content Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2019

**What do you like best about Emma?**

Emma gives us a wide variety of customizations for our company emails. The customer service is top-notch and quality is excellent.

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

There are a few restrictions on design capabilities of tools outside the email realm, such as light box forms and landing pages.

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are greatly benefitting from the use of segmented groups, automations, and email marketing solutions.

  ### 35. EMMA in Higher Education

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2018

**What do you like best about Emma?**

Ease of use in design without a background knowledge in coding. Click and drag and setup a template in minutes.

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

Formatting. Every time you need to cut and paste you lose all of your text formatting and need to hyperlink or adjust sizing all over again.

**Recommendations to others considering Emma:**

It's a great product and you can see that they are making changes to make it even better. They offer a lot of tutorials but once you start using, its easy to catch on. Uploading audiences and sending e-mails are a breeze, along with scheduling. However, sometimes it does take awhile to send the actual e-mails and get analytics back for larger mailings.

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to see how effective certain campaigns are and better locate students in their exact spot in the marketing cycle to help them complete applications or register for orientation, etc.

  ### 36. Limited capabilities. Best for simplicity.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospitality | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 11, 2019

**What do you like best about Emma?**

Emma's "mailing score" report shows an overall summary of how your email performed. It's great to see the different ways in which the email was opened and how many it reached. Easy to drag-and-drop without needing to learn a lot on the front end.

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

Very glitchy interface that often lags, regardless of the machine or browser used. Basic tools that are limiting if you want your emails to stand out. No ability to load custom fonts. Have to make custom images and PDFs to upload so your email looks halfway decent or visually appealintg.

**Recommendations to others considering Emma:**

See what other options are out there before committing.

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Great for mass communication and segmenting audiences. Automated mailings is a helpful and convenient feature.

  ### 37. Great Program, Minor Flaws

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Luis P. | Director of Marketing, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 23, 2019

**What do you like best about Emma?**

The ease of sending out mass emails and the quality of the emails.

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

Load times can be lengthy and uploading lists can also take a bit of time.

**Recommendations to others considering Emma:**

It truly is a great program. There are occasional glitches, as seems to be true with any program.

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to send out product information quickly and easily with Emma. The templates save so much time!

  ### 38. Emma is Great for Distributing Emails Across a Wide Audience

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jey F. | Senior Platform Engineer, Financial Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 13, 2019

**What do you like best about Emma?**

Rather than dealing with Outlook and CCing 50 different people you can send announcements or whatever you'd like with Emma. You can simply add people into groups and choose which group you send it to.

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

There's a bit of a learning curve when first approaching Emma, but you quickly get the hang of it.

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allows the business to send mass emails quickly. Using Emma helps you organize people into groups and is less clunky than the alternatives.

  ### 39. User Friendly with templates

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rachel B. | Administrative Program Coordinator, Student Service and Support -MBA Online, Higher Education, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2018

**What do you like best about Emma?**

I like that emma saves past email campaigns and templates so that we are able to alter past ones to fit future needs. So many of our emails are timely, or can be used multiple times just in future months so having past emails that we can edit and work off of is great

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

Sometimes there are weird glitches with fonts, and I'm not always able to get original formatting to work. Which is when finding an old template works best.

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tracking emails, sending out campaigns, seeing what taglines create action items like opening the emails and clicking on links.

  ### 40. {"translation":"User-friendly"}

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 10, 2019

**What do you like best about Emma?**

Even if you have no experience with email marketing systems, Emma makes it easy to create an appealing email.

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

I think it doesn’t have some capabilities that others do.

**Recommendations to others considering Emma:**

Go for it. I think that it is user-friendly and helpful.

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Emma helps maintain uniformity in email sends, and it helps keep the audience engaged.

  ### 41. Event Leads

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 16, 2019

**What do you like best about Emma?**

How easy Emma is to use. The customer experience is unbeatable

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

The back end process. After leads are collected the process becomes distorted.

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ROI on community events. It makes the data analyzation seamless.

  ### 42. Emma has been amazing to quickly reach potential customers.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Julie H. | Chiropractor, Higher Education, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 09, 2019

**What do you like best about Emma?**

Emma makes entering pictures and text a breeze to get the information you want to share looking professional. It makes the email look great whether it's opened on a phone or computer.

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

It is confusing how to input your own email lists.

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Emma makes it easy to reach potential customers in a non-invasive way. A customer can simply opt out if they choose.

  ### 43. Outdated and Unrealiable

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Randall N. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2018

**What do you like best about Emma?**

With this system, nothing stands out from the competition. It does the bare minimum. Compared to other systems avaible in 2018, it lacks feactures needed in the modern marketing.

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

If you are looking for any system that is up to date and ready to get conversations this not your first choice. Emma is a very simple system and was not built with data in mind. Very hard to manage your contacts and very un-customizable.

**Recommendations to others considering Emma:**

The system is best for simple use cases.

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The system was designed to help reach our customers through email to drive conversions and inform them on specials and opportunities.

  ### 44. Lacks functionality, no reason to spend on Emma with so many great competitors out there

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 27, 2018

**What do you like best about Emma?**

The WYSIWYG is easy to use. It has the basic email marketing functionalities.

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

This platform is quite primitive. I absolutely DO NOT recommend it. I can't wait to switch to something else once our subscription is up.
If you're an absolute beginner to email marketing or not a marketing person but rather someone taking on marketing responsibilities, then it's fine.
Although Emma looks like a promising, professional platform, in reality, it is quite basic, too top-level (no specificity), not fully customizable, etc.

My biggest gripes with Emma are:
- Insights and analytics are quite lacking. Does not go deeper than open, click rates, and opt-outs.
- Out of all email marketing software I have I used, Emma emails are the ones that go into spam most easily.
No, not "promotions" or "unfocused". Spam.
- The available pre-made email templates look very old-school and outdated. Very 2004. There is no marketplace or option to acquire more.
- Thankfully, you can use your own custom HTML email templates, but the interface is a bit funky. Every time you preview your email and hit "back" it returns you to the top of the frame.
- You can't save custom HTML templates and then edit them as a WYSIWYG like in HubSpot or MailChimp.
- Their email templates are NOT fully cross-browser or cross-platform compatible.
- Emma automatically generates mobile versions for their "mobile ready" themes. Other platforms let you make edits to how your mobile and desktop versions will look separately.
- They have a field for custom preview text, but it doesn't work for all email providers.
- Has integrations with very few third-party platforms.
- Automation workflow rules lack some basic functionalities (for example, send THIS given XXYZ open conditions are met)
- Etc.
- Doesn't allow you to personalize Subject Lines or descriptions
- Only A/B testing available is for subject lines

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sending mass emails, seeing if they were opened and clicked on. That's it.

  ### 45. Easy to use!

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 20, 2019

**What do you like best about Emma?**

Emma is very user friendly and easy to navigate. (Also, being so user friendly can have a downside if you’re trying to provide high quality communication)

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

More options to create better content within Emma! Editing templates can be a hassle. If you're an absolute beginner to email marketing or not a marketing person but rather someone taking on marketing responsibilities, then it's fine. Emma appears to be a promising, professional platform, in reality, it is quite basic, too top-level (no specificity), not fully customizable, etc.

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Provides the ability to send mass emails to members.

  ### 46. Solid email marketing service with some limitations

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civil Engineering | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2019

**What do you like best about Emma?**

Intuitive email designer, ability to segment email lists, schedule emails, good metrics for sent emails

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

Cannot view or directly edit the html of an email - formatting can get messed up for no reason, with no way to fix it except delete the problem section and recreate it.

**Recommendations to others considering Emma:**

Emma is a solid email marketing service. Great customer service, easy to learn and use.

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps us send professional marketing emails to our audience when we want.

  ### 47. Robust email marketing tool packed with great features

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sean B. | Producer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2019

**What do you like best about Emma?**

The workflow feature was included in the lowest-tier package. This allowed us to start small and then grow.

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

The Salesforce integration was not as good as I would have liked. There were some 2-way syncing problems, but this is not an uncommon challenge with Salesforce.

**Recommendations to others considering Emma:**

It would have been really nice to have Contact Scoring so that we could identify those contacts that were interacting the most with our content.

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Efficiently emailing new subscribers a series of emails.

  ### 48. Easy and fun to work with.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Media Production | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2019

**What do you like best about Emma?**

How user friendly it is for those who are using it.

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

Not showing dates but instead showing "5 days and 10 hours ago" when it comes to finding older eblasts.

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It gives great response on the customers who open and click on our emails.

  ### 49. MyEmma Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Medical Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 29, 2019

**What do you like best about Emma?**

I like that you can create templates. I work for a small franchise and having this feature makes it easy for everyone to access and use.

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

There isn’t much that I dislike, but if I had to chose I would say the image feature. I like designing my own emails and sometimes I want my imagine in a different spot than just the left, right and center.

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This platform allows use to capture emails at work events. We love it!

  ### 50. Glitchy but Functional

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 03, 2019

**What do you like best about Emma?**

Emma provides for sophisticated graphic layouts and good back end management.

**What do you dislike about Emma?**

When you’re designing, the platform is very glitchy. It’s not easy to do simple tasks like undo or move a box around. It can become a hassle.

**Recommendations to others considering Emma:**

It’s not very user friendly, but may be the most cost effective option for your needs. It’s a worthwhile consideration but shouldn’t be the only consideration.

**What problems is Emma solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Newsletter formation and back end analysis on open rates. It provides good data and in general looks more sophisticated presentation-wise.
