## Dext Reviews
 ### 1. Dext: Intuitive, AI-Powered Tool with Seamless Automations and Stellar Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Danielle G. | Accounts Assistant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Dext?**

It's intuitive and the AI features make the work easier and more efficient especially when working across multiple clients. The automations and integrations allow for easy reconciliations without overthinking it! Don't think I have ever had an issue with Dext and the support team are amazing . Always one step ahead with their new features.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

I think one thing I have been wanting, and the Ai tool has partially addressed this, is to be able to set rules for specific account codes rather than just a supplier. For example, if an expense needs coding to Directors Loan Account, I'd love the VAT to default to No VAT. A small thing but means that these don't get missed by junior team members when processing invoices.

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dext is making it as easy as possible to provide paperwork for their bookkeeping which is an issue as old as time. Clients couldn't have ay more ways to provide data whether thats by email, Fetch, WhatsApp, the app, etc. It makes my life so much easier as it takes the obstacles away from them!

 ### 2. Feature-Rich, Seamless Integrations, and Best-in-Class Scanning

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lee G. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Dext?**

Dext is a feature-rich product compared with other products of its kind. The user interface is easy to navigate, and the bulk feature is very handy. The integration with banks and accounting software makes it seamless to get data into it.

I find the quality of the scans, and the way it reads tax rates, values, and other pertinent information, to be class-leading; it consistently outperforms others. The pricing structure is tiered and, in my experience, I pass it on to clients and they are more than happy to pay for it, as they much prefer it to the alternatives.

I have used Dext for six years now, and each account manager I have worked with has been very hands-on and has helped me out when required. Whether that’s at shows or on a call, the support is always there. Recently, we’ve been very impressed with the new AI feature, and it has made over 1,000 suggestions to our client base, of which over 900 have been implemented.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

I’m finding Dext Solo a little clunky at the moment, so I’ll need to go through another session to understand how to get the best out of it and how my clients use it.

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dext has helped us significantly cut down on manual bookkeeping and admin by automating the capture and extraction of supplier invoices, receipts, and statements across multiple clients. It has improved the accuracy of our bookkeeping, streamlined our accounts payable processes, and given us much better real-time visibility into client records. The biggest benefit has been the time saved on data entry, VAT preparation, and month-end work, while also making it far easier for our team and clients to collaborate and keep financial records organised and compliant.

**Official Response from Miguel Mendez:**

> Lee, over 900 out of 1,000 AI Assist suggestions accepted across your client base is a remarkable number and speaks to how well your team has built up the coding patterns underneath it. On Dext Solo feeling clunky, your account manager is the right person to walk through that with you as they can tailor a session to how your clients actually use it day-to-day rather than a generic onboarding run. If you haven't looked at the Practice Insights dashboard recently, it's worth a check as it gives you a clear view of submission volumes and automation adoption across all clients, which at your scale can quickly surface where a bit of attention would have the most impact.

 ### 3. Practical Receipt Capture and Smooth Xero Integration That Cuts Manual Work

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** DAMLA I. | Senior Accounting & Tax Associate, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Dext?**

The receipt and invoice capture is really practical, and the integrations with Xero make the whole process much smoother. It’s one of those tools that actually reduces manual work instead of creating extra steps. I also think it’s very user-friendly for accountants which is not always easy to achieve.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

One thing I dislike about Dext is that the OCR is not always consistent, especially with low-quality receipts or complex invoices, so manual corrections are still needed sometimes. Pricing can also become expensive as usage grows. I also think some workflows could be more flexible, especially when dealing with exceptions or unusual accounting cases. Also, when invoices are sent as CSV files, they usually need to be converted into PDF format before uploading, which creates an extra manual step.

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dext helps reduce the amount of manual work involved in bookkeeping and invoice processing. Instead of entering data line by line, receipts and invoices can be captured and processed much faster, which saves a lot of time and reduces human error. It also makes document collection and organization easier, especially when working with multiple clients. The integrations with accounting software help keep everything more streamlined and efficient. Overall, it improves workflow efficiency and allows more time to focus on higher-value work instead of repetitive admin tasks.

**Official Response from Miguel Mendez:**

> DAMLA, it is fantastic to hear that the receipt capture and Xero links are effectively cutting manual overhead for your practice. Regarding the OCR performance on low-quality receipts, ensure documents are flat and well-lit to resolve most extraction gaps; for more flexibility with unusual accounting cases, try utilising supplier rules to manage exceptions without a rigid configuration. On pricing, it is worth discussing your submission volume with an account manager to see if a different bundle offers better value as you grow. The CSV-to-PDF step exists because our engine is optimised for image-based evidence, providing a robust record for audit trails. Finally, to further enhance your efficiency, it is worth exploring AI Assist, as it learns from your historic coding patterns to suggest automations for repetitive tasks while you maintain total control. Thanks for sharing your insights

 ### 4. Saves money (time), improves accuracy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael M. | Fractional FD, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Dext?**

As both a fractional finance director and an accountant/bookkeeper, I’ve set up Dext for a number of clients—some where the client uses it directly, and others where I use it on their behalf. Clients pick it up very easily, and it improves the quality of their work while also saving them time (often saving multiples of the subscription cost).

The new AI Assist should improve accuracy and time savings even further. I've had very limited need for support but Davide Grande has been a great help in seeing what can be achieved with both AI Assist and Dext Solo (for my Making Tax Digital for Tax clients).

Supplier rules are very easy to set up, and save a great deal of time as well as improving consistency/accuracy.

As a user, it's the best software for inputing invoices & bills that I've used, the processing is quick and I've never experienced any system downtime.

I heartily recommend checking this out.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

I'm an accountant so always fee focused - there are aspects that, due to the size of my clients, that I refrain from using (health scores, line-by-line splitting) that I'd love to see included. As with any software, always fearful of future price rises!

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Efficiency, accuracy, improving client experience.

**Official Response from Miguel Mendez:**

> Michael, really appreciate the review; it is great to hear Davide has been such a help and that supplier rules are delivering accuracy and consistency for your clients. Regarding your points on health scores and line-by-line splitting, we understand those tools are essential as advisory needs evolve. On the pricing side, your account manager can help assess when a client is ready to scale based on their specific submission patterns. Since you are active in both bookkeeping and FD capacities, you might also find Practice Insights useful for monitoring submission trends across your whole portfolio in a single view. Thanks for your review

 ### 5. Hours Saved Weekly with Seamless Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage Integration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emma B. | Finance Assistant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Dext?**

I like that it saves us hours of manual admin each week thanks to its seamless integration with Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage. I also like the intelligent data capture, which lets us scan, email, or snap photos of clients’ receipts and invoices through the mobile app. It automates manual data entry and saves us time, is HMRC compliant, and provides real-time insights into clients’ cash flow and spending.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

The mobile app feels limited and is missing several features that are available on the desktop version. Statement extraction from UK banks can be hit and miss, and the PDFs can be unreliable. Customer support response times are also too slow; it can take up to 48 hours to receive a reply, which isn’t acceptable when we have urgent bookkeeping queries. Finally, the cost of Dext can be quite high for some of our low-volume clients, and it can end up outweighing the time saved compared with other competitors.

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It’s saving us a lot of time through automated document retrieval using the “fetch” feature. We also have seamless reconciliations because it automatically matches processed documents with transactions in our bank feed, especially since it’s integrated with our Xero platform. Another key benefit is that it’s HMRC-compliant for MTD, and we particularly like that it sends automated reminders to our clients, which reduces the need for us to constantly chase them for missing paperwork.

**Official Response from Miguel Mendez:**

> Emma, it is great to hear that the Fetch functionality and automated bank matching are driving such efficiency for your team. Regarding your feedback on UK bank statement extraction, those reliability gaps are often caused by the varying PDF formats issued by banks; where possible, connecting a direct bank feed is a much more robust alternative to manual uploads. We have also noted your comments on support response times for internal review, and we encourage you to flag any urgent delays to your account manager for escalation. Finally, if you haven't explored it yet,
AI Assist learns from your historic coding patterns to suggest further automations for repetitive bookkeeping tasks while you maintain total control. Thanks for your review

 ### 6. Fast, Intuitive Bookkeeping with Superb Support and Smart Automations

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarah K. | Restaurant Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2026

**What do you like best about Dext?**

It is quick and intuitive to navigate around the software. The multiple methods of document submission suit both the client and our team, and the available automations and computer learning for coding and publishing help streamline the bookkeeping process. Dext is fast at processing documents, and the included client expense management has been a great offering. Support with Dext is consistently superb and always quick to respond. With our client bundle, the cost for both Prepare and Precision is extremely reasonable. The adoption by our team with Dext has been excellent and it has far surpassed the software we used before. Dext is an exciting, progressive software who are always developing the product.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

The bank statement extraction does not always work well.

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dext is making our team more efficient in their day to day, and the Health & Insights is giving us accessible data to monitor client behaviours and operating levels that influence our service and fee levels.

**Official Response from Miguel Mendez:**

> Sarah, really appreciate the review; it is fantastic to hear that your team has adopted the platform so effectively and that Health & Insights is providing the data needed to influence your service and fee levels. Regarding your feedback on bank statement extraction, those reliability gaps are frequently tied to the varying PDF formats issued by different institutions; where possible, connecting a direct bank feed is a much more robust alternative to manual uploads. Since you are already utilising our expense management features, it is also worth exploring mileage claims, as this allows your team to submit business travel directly using standard reimbursement rates instead of tracking it separately. Thanks for sharing your insights

 ### 7. Simple, Flexible Document Annotation and Archiving That Saves Me Time (and money!)

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** E O. | Executive Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Dext?**

Dext allows me to annotate and archive financial documents for my bookkeeper. It saves me so much time and eliminates ambiguity.
It is simple to use and endlessly flexible.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

Some of the new AI integrations are annoying and I think they slow the platform down. I would like to opt out of the AI if possible.
Sometimes the AI suggestions are inaccurate. I also find that the system takes longer to process documents now that it uses AI.

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dext is helping me minimize my interactions with my bookkeeper (who charges by the hour) - I have my chart of accounts built in to the platform and she can easily import all of my monthly annotated invoices, without having to follow up with endless questions. It has vastly improved my life, given me more time and decreased my bookkeeper's billable hours.
Dext is worth every penny!

 ### 8. Time-Saving Receipt Capture with Powerful Rules

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** George S. | Head of Accounts, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Dext?**

I use the receipt capture functionality in Dext, and what I like most is its ability to extract information from receipts and its flexibility around upload methods. It avoids me having to manually review documents, and it makes sure dates and amounts are correct. I use the rules function fairly heavily to make sure transactions get coded to the right category and the VAT treatment is correct. It definitely saves time. I have all of my clients actively use the app and the email in features for costs. I then use the rules function, coupled with the fairly new Dext AI Assist module, to make sure things get coded up correctly before they are fed into QuickBooks. Currently the rules save me the most time. For one of my clients, their P&L is fully costed out amongst employees in the business, and the rules function allows me to split costs amongst different employees. When you're splitting out to around 10 different employees, this helps massively. I also like how the client can put a description in the email and that is then visible within Dext. I have it linked up to QuickBooks and Xero. Setup was pretty intuitive, and it's easy enough to set up each new client.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

As touched on above, when setting up smart split rules, it would be good if the percentage column had some automation. I do wish that Dext had a functionality to equalize the % for each line. Currently when creating the rule, if the number of employees changes, I need to re-enter the percentage split.

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dext saves me from manually reviewing documents, making sure dates and amounts are correct. It extracts info from receipts and offers flexible upload methods, which saves time. The rules function lets me code transactions to the right category, get VAT treatment right, and split costs amongst employees before feeding into QuickBooks.

 ### 9. Streamlined Client Workflows with Accurate Receipt Capture

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 26, 2026

**What do you like best about Dext?**

Dext has really helped us streamline our clients’ processes. It’s far superior to other tools we’ve used, like Hubdoc. Over the past 13 years, we’ve also seen much greater receipt-capture accuracy.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

From a partner point of view, its the inability to control clients using Paid for abilities, like line extraction or statements. As the subscriber and payer, we should have more control of this and have the ability to switch on and off these features and possibly even setting our own caps, to avoid clients going over the top in usage. Its one part of Dext over the past few years i've not liked. We are giving clients a blank cheque and the ability to spend our money which we then need to get back from the client. And Dext is facilitiating this. There must be more control for the subscriber (Partner) to stop clients freely using paid for items on Dext. This is probably my one big issue with Dext at the moment and i have voiced this many times, but never been heard as i assume its not seen as an issue - but it makes no sense to put the liabillty on the Partner when we have no control on what our clients can do beyond our agreed subscription price (extras).

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to free up time from manual entry or using a less user friendly extraction tool. It has saved many many hours of our time. For us as a practice, everything is setup so i simply use the App or email, then forget. Payment comes out of bank and receipt is there waiting for matching. Simple. Also, the Fetch has always been good in helping getting receipts from clients accounts that they just can't seem to get round to getting for us - this helps alot!

 ### 10. Effortless Data Extraction, Needs Mobile Enhancement

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex R. | Accountant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Dext?**

I use Dext to digitize and extract data from clients' costs, sales, and bank statements. I love the ease of use and the many different ways I can upload documents. It's convenient to use both in the office and on the go since we can scan documents ourselves or the client can do so from their phone, saving us man hours. Setting up Dext was super easy, just sign up for a trial and you can start immediately.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

There's no way from the mobile app to upload pictures of bank statements for data extraction. That has to be done on the desktop.

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Dext to digitize and extract data automatically, reducing the man-hours needed. It's easy to use with versatile document upload options, letting us or our clients upload from anywhere, saving time.

**Official Response from Miguel Mendez:**

> Alex, really appreciate the review; it is fantastic to hear that Dext is delivering significant time savings by allowing your team and clients to capture costs and sales while on the move. Regarding your feedback on bank statements, that is currently a desktop-only workflow; where possible, connecting a direct bank feed is a much more robust alternative that removes the need for manual uploads entirely. I will certainly flag this mobile functionality gap to the product team for review. Since you are focused on office and mobile efficiency, it is also worth exploring AI Assist, as it learns from your historic coding patterns to suggest further automations for your bookkeeping tasks. Thanks for sharing your insights.

 ### 11. Streamlined Onboarding and Efficiency Booster

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hannah M. | Client Success Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 25, 2026

**What do you like best about Dext?**

I really appreciate how straightforward the initial setup process is with Dext. From inviting clients to integrating with Xero, everything is intuitive and reduces onboarding time significantly. The flexible document submission options and strong educational resources have also made it easier for both our team and clients to adopt and use the software effectively.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

The mobile app, while convenient for quick submissions, lacks some of the functionality available on the desktop version. This limitation can sometimes frustrate clients who are looking for a more complete experience on mobile.

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dext has become an essential tool for our accountancy practice. It solves one of the biggest challenges we face—collecting and processing client paperwork efficiently. Clients can easily submit receipts and invoices, and the OCR technology extracts the key data accurately, significantly reducing manual data entry.

 ### 12. Top-Notch Support and Instant, Invaluable Insights

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2026

**What do you like best about Dext?**

Support and learning is top notch; within days of signing up I had a call and two more scheduled to assist me in the set up and early days. It's easy to navigate, though there much more to it than I use currently - with all the support in place I am confident I can get the most out of in pretty soon. Integrations are straight forward as is the setting up of the health checks and practice insights - the data analysis is almost instant, and though it will take time to review and plan how best to use it, the insights are invaluable. The AI did not work first time, so I need to go away and refine my instructions, again when I have some time. It's not a cheap piece of software, but then it probably shouldn't be and peer reviews are promising; that put the work in and Dext is like your first employee.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

Documents can get 'lost'. Attachments don't always upload when dragged over from an email. A lot of text which needs careful reading sometimes.

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At the moment, it's doing a similar job to the old software because I haven't had the time to fully programme it, but I am confident it will save me time and money it automating and speeding up bills processing without the need for manual adjustment. Health score is giving near instant insight and analysis - yet to be tested and fully digested.

**Official Response from Miguel Mendez:**

> Really encouraging to see someone in the early stages already thinking about how to get the most out of it rather than just scratching the surface. On documents going missing via drag-and-drop from email, the most reliable workaround is Email-in forwarding as each Dext inbox has its own unique address and attachments come through cleanly every time without the drag-and-drop variable. When you do get a moment to revisit AI Assist, it's worth knowing it gets considerably more useful once it has a body of your coding history to learn from, so the earlier you can get it running, the faster it starts handling categorisation and tax treatment on its own..

 ### 13. Reduces Risk, Cuts Admin, and Speeds Up Processing

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Diane d. | MD, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Dext?**

It reduces risk, cuts down on manual admin, and makes processing faster.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

I’d love an all-clients dashboard that shows headline information for my non-Dext clients, in a way that makes it easy to identify which of them I should upsell Dext to.
I also wish I still had my "lifetime" deal of unlimited clients for a fixed price!

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps with processing data and saving on bookkeeping costs, while also improving accuracy. It also keeps copies of the data, and the GST information is ready if it’s introduced on our island.

 ### 14. Streamlines Bookkeeping with Automated Efficiency

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Darren J. | Partner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Dext?**

I like Dext primarily for its data health and insights features. It helps me significantly as a fractional CFO to highlight issues and improve clients' data health scores. The rules-based automation for bookkeeping is brilliant because it cuts through or reduces my bookkeeping time and ensures quality and consistency across record-keeping. Everything is as automated as I can get it, allowing me to rely on reviews within Xero for material inaccuracies and to push data through for consistency checks. The automation also reduces human error and saves time by not having to amend transactions. I appreciate the familiarity and comfort of using Dext, especially after having tried alternatives like Hubdoc. Also, the initial setup of Dext was very easy without any real issues. Ultimately, I believe it is worth the money, as I'm encouraged to make better use of it since I have skin in the game.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

I'm gonna say the weak point of Dext is myself, because you don't know what you don't know. And I'm comfortable using it to a certain degree, but I would always like to know where I am missing a trick or I should invest a bit more time in setup and automation so that I don't have to keep stepping back into it.

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Dext for data health and insights, improving client records and highlighting issues. It's a brilliant time-saving tool for bookkeeping with rules-based automation that reduces errors and ensures consistency.

**Official Response from Miguel Mendez:**

> Darren, it is great to hear that Data Health and rules-based automation are doing the heavy lifting across your client portfolio. Regarding your point on "not knowing what you don't know," it is worth acting on that by checking out our Dext U certification. Our dedicated on-demand training sessions for Data Health, Insights, and Intelligent Workflows dive deeper into features most relevant to your advisory work, and these are all included in your subscription. ### 15. Effortless Receipt Management with Dext

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nik G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2026

**What do you like best about Dext?**

I use Dext for receipt extraction and Making Tax Digital for sole traders and landlords. I appreciate how it makes it extremely easy to upload receipts and publish to other accounting software. I really like the auto extraction and AI functionality. On Dext, I can set up rules and auto publishing, which saves a lot of time compared to manual processing. The AI also makes suggestions for what the expense may relate to. I find Dext much better and simpler to operate than QuickBooks MTD. The initial setup was very easy, taking just a few minutes.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

Dext doesn't have bank reconciliations. It would be better if you can cancel subscriptions immediately rather than on an annual basis.

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dext makes it extremely easy to upload receipts and publish them to accounting software. Setting up rules and auto publishing saves time over manual processing. The AI suggests what expenses may relate to, simplifying my workflow.

**Official Response from Miguel Mendez:**

> Nik, sounds like auto publish and the AI suggestions are doing exactly what they should for your MTD workflow. On bank reconciliation, Dext is not built to replace that step entirely, but with Xero or QBO connected, it highlights unreconciled items so nothing slips through. On cancellations, annual plans do tend to work out cheaper if that timing flexibility matters less to you. Since you are already covering property and sole trader expenses, mileage claims might be worth a look too as you can log business travel directly in Dext using standard reimbursement rates instead of tracking it separately. Thanks for your review.

 ### 16. Crucial Time-Saver for Bookkeeping, with Seamless Xero & QuickBooks Online Integration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Dext?**

Dext has been crucial in helping me expand my bookkeeping practice. It saves me a lot of time on the more mundane, basic bookkeeping tasks. The integration with Xero and QuickBooks Online is seamless, and my clients are beginning to get comfortable using it. I’ve also just started using Dext AI Assist, and I’ve found it adds even more time savings and improves the service I can provide to my clients.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

The pricing can be a bit problematic when discussing using Dext and other software with potential clients, but I can generally work around this within my pricing structure. The performance of the Fetch connection service, however, needs considerable improvement.

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dext is helping to speed up my bookkeeping process. My clients now have a “one-stop shop” where they can submit all their documentation through an easy-to-use, intuitive platform. Dext also gives me the tools to provide improved insights and reports by using Dext Precision.

**Official Response from Miguel Mendez:**

> It is fantastic to hear that Dext is proving instrumental in scaling your bookkeeping practice, particularly with the time savings found through our Xero and QuickBooks Online integrations and AI Assist. Regarding your pricing feedback, many firms find that incorporating the software cost into their broader service packages helps clarify the value to clients. On the Fetch connection issues, these stability gaps are frequently tied to updated supplier security protocols like 2FA; checking your login details or re-linking the source usually helps, but please do flag any persistent portal errors to support. Since you are active in Xero and QBO, you might also want to try Dextension, which lets you view original document data and historical coding directly within your accounting ledger.

 ### 17. Efficient Document Management, Slight OCR Delay

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David W. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Dext?**

I use Dext for extracting data from purchase invoices and receipts, which saves me time from manually entering the information and importing documents. I like the simplified views, as well as the archive and vault features for document storage. The archive feature allows me to keep copies of statements or other documents not necessarily being published to accounting software, while the Vault feature is great for storing important documents like insurance policies. The initial setup of Dext was very easy, and I appreciate how it integrates with QuickBooks and Xero. I would definitely recommend Dext to a friend or colleague, as I already have.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

Sometimes the speed of the OCR is a little slow depending on the time of day. The time it takes from scanning to processing to inbox later in the day appears a lot slower to reach the inbox.

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Dext to extract data from invoices and receipts, saving me time from manual data entry and document importing. I also like its simplified views and document storage features with the archive and vault, which keep important records accessible.

**Official Response from Miguel Mendez:**

> David, really appreciate the review, glad to hear Dext is delivering time savings and that Archive and Vault are proving useful for your document storage. The OCR speed dipping later in the day is a fair point; extraction times can fluctuate when processing volumes are at their peak. For urgent items, you can pull them from the processing queue into your inbox to code manually, or use the Boost feature to prioritise them. Since you are already utilising Vault for organisation, it is worth setting up supplier rules so your recurring invoices are categorised automatically, further reducing the need for manual input each time.

 ### 18. Processing paper a thing of the past

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lileen V. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Dext?**

I love how Dext digitizes all paperwork, which means no more manual processing of till slips, supplier invoices and customer invoicing. Also, no more files with tonnes of paperwork. SARS acknowledges the validity of information saved on Dext in an electronic format. The ability to immediately see how much work is waiting for each client helps me prioritize my day efficiently. I appreciate the presetting of GL coding and supplier details, making the transfer of information effortless to the accounting platform. It's amazing that invoices can be set on auto publish, transferring directly to my accounting package without needing to touch a single key.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

In the beginning, the app was very simple and easy to understand, but it has grown tremendously and keeps on getting new functionality. I would have liked a training program that is continuously updated as Dext grows that is split up into small, manageable increments of no more than 15 minutes each, with a little test at the end to test your knowledge.

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dext digitizes client documents, eliminating the need for physical paperwork. It streamlines invoice processing with automated GL coding and tax settings, transferring info to accounting platforms without manual input, letting me see work status by client to prioritize tasks.

**Official Response from Miguel Mendez:**

> Lileen, really appreciate the comprehensive feedback; it is fantastic to hear that auto-publish and GL coding presets are driving such efficiency in your practice. Regarding your point on continuous training, we understand that rapid product growth requires manageable learning paths, which is why Dext U now offers eighteen modular sessions designed to be completed in short increments. To further optimise your bookkeeping workflows, it is also worth exploring AI Assist, as it learns from your historic patterns to suggest automation for repetitive tasks while ensuring you remain in total control of the final output.

 ### 19. Accurate Bookkeeping with Robust VAT Checks, Needs Simpler User Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Victoria P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2026

**What do you like best about Dext?**

I really appreciate how Dext saves me time and increases the accuracy of my bookkeeping. The feature that ensures VAT codes are correctly used and verifies VAT numbers on suppliers has been incredibly helpful. I also love the data insights feature, which helps me ensure my bookkeeping is accurate and reliable by flagging errors and assisting with problem-solving in Xero, making it very useful and time-saving. The integration with suppliers like Amazon Business is a massive time saver. Additionally, setting up Dext was very easy.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

I found the user management side a little bit more complicated. It took me a while to get a few issues resolved. To make it easier to see, on the practice side how you can make sure adding users is available, and how you can make sure to have the client list always updated. So if you're invited in or taking over a sub, it took me quite a while to resolve rather than it being a quick fix. Also, there's a lot to it as it's a big product, and taking time out to learn it was more difficult.

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dext saves me time, makes bookkeeping more accurate, ensures correct VAT codes and number verification, provides reliable data insights to spot errors, and helps clean up messy bookkeeping.

**Official Response from Miguel Mendez:**

> Victoria, sounds like the VAT verification and data insights are doing real work keeping your bookkeeping clean. The user management friction you mentioned usually comes down to permissions on the inviting side, since admins set privileges according to role, worth raising the specifics with support so they can walk you through the quickest path for your setup. To further enhance your efficiency, it is worth exploring AI Assist, as it learns from your historic coding patterns to suggest automations for repetitive tasks while you maintain total control. We also recommend checking out Dext U Certification, which offers a modular library of demos to help you discover additional tools that could drive even greater time savings. Thanks for your review.

 ### 20. Accurate Data Capture and Supportive Team

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shirley H. | Company Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Dext?**

I like that Dext is much more accurate than others I've tried, such as Apron and Hubdoc. My account manager and the support teams are very helpful and kind, which makes a big difference when I need assistance. I enjoy the way I can bring in large numbers of invoices using my ScanSnap scanner, as it makes handling a lot of documents much easier. Additionally, the one-on-one training sessions provided by my account manager were very good and helped me greatly despite the initial setup being a bit hard.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

I need to be able to enter quantities into most transactions for my work in agriculture, and it would be great if this could be part of the main entry screen without needing to use data extraction.

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Dext for data capture from invoices and bills. I hope it will speed up data entry and improve accuracy. It's more accurate than others, and allows me to import a large number of invoices efficiently.

**Official Response from Miguel Mendez:**

> Hi Shirley, We're glad to hear that you find Dext accurate and helpful, and that our support team has been supportive. We appreciate your feedback about the need to enter quantities into transactions, and we'll take that into consideration for future improvements. If you haven't tried it yet, it is also worth exploring AI Assist, as it learns from your coding patterns to automate repetitive bookkeeping tasks while you stay in control. Thanks for your review.

 ### 21. Efficient Receipt Capture, Needs CIS Module Improvement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nathan S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Dext?**

I use Dext for bookkeeping and accounting data capture for my accountancy practice. I really like the receipt extraction feature, as it captures receipts and connects to clients' banks, making the process easy for us. Additionally, I have started learning the MTD module, which is proving to be valuable. The initial setup was very easy, and I appreciate that. Also, I find it helpful when representatives like Davide Grade go the extra mile in assisting customers, even when on holiday.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

The CIS module captures net sales when pulled from the bank. Normally, our CIS clients don't do sales invoices as their customers do reverse sales invoices.

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Dext for bookkeeping, capturing receipts, and connecting them to clients' banks, making accounting easier.

 ### 22. Virtually Automated Bookkeeping with Dext

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marie A. | Client Accountant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Dext?**

When used correctly, Dext makes bookkeeping feel like a virtually automated exercise :) No more attaching invoices and re categorising and matching to bank payments its all done seamlessly through Dext.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

The Fetch function is a work in progress through no fault of Dext but them trying to get round the 2nd factor authorisation that a lot of online accounts now have.

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Just the Fetch function for me everything else is working perfectly and always ahead of time for learning new features

 ### 23. Auto-Publish Saves Time on Recurring Invoices

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Noel R. | Financial Controller, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Dext?**

The auto publish feature is great to set up for invoices which are consistent each month and saves time

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

I think sometimes it isn't particularly clear how to fix and error when an item won't publish into my accounting software

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is solving wasted time reviewing invoices. It automatically detects if there is VAT, the supplier and invoice total. All that is required from me is a quick review and then I can publish it into my accounting software

 ### 24. Effortless Receipt Uploads and Responsive Dext Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex T. | Administrator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Dext?**

it is extremely accessible to clients who are busy businesspeople who dont have much time on their hands, they simply snap a photo and upload their receipts!

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

Nothing! I have had issues before with integration and the team at Dext have been able to resolve my problem efficiently!

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They are solving receipts that are being coded differently, this helps me see where i may have used the incorrect vat treatment in the past and use this correctly going forward

 ### 25. User-Friendly, But Expensive for Small Teams

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tatiane L. | Semi- Senior Tax Accountant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Dext?**

I like that Dext is very easy to use. It's a huge plus that my clients can easily upload invoices using the Dext app, even on my phone while on the go. It's very simple, and that's something I really appreciate.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

I think the fact that if it's an invoice in PDF, the client needs to send an email instead of just forwarding it within the app. It'd be easier since some clients forget the email they need to send it to. Also, Dext is a bit pricey. It's one of the most expensive software on the market, which makes some people hesitate to sign up because of the price.

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Dext for clients to upload invoices, so I can handle accounts. It's very easy to use, and clients can upload invoices on the go using the app.

**Official Response from Miguel Mendez:**

> Tatiane, really appreciate the review; it is fantastic to hear that the mobile app's ease of use is helping your clients capture invoices while on the move. Regarding your feedback on PDF uploads, this is actually supported within the mobile app; next to the camera icon, there is a file attachment option so they can avoid the email step entirely. You might also suggest the WhatsApp submission method if that fits their workflow better. On the pricing front, the return on investment usually comes through the reliability of the data, as high-quality extraction saves significant time at scale by reducing manual checks. Since you are focused on efficiency, it is worth exploring AI Assist as well; it learns from your historic coding patterns to suggest further automations for your recurring bookkeeping tasks while you stay in control. Thanks for sharing your insights

 ### 26. Streamlines Document Processes with High Accuracy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex S. | Assistant Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2026

**What do you like best about Dext?**

I appreciate how Dext automates the extraction of documents for our team, giving our clients more real-time insights. We use it for approval workflows and even for the back-end review of our data. I find the accuracy of the data extraction to be extremely high, much higher than if we had people doing it manually. I also value the ability to search and find invoices, storing them far more neatly than anyone ever could manually. The initial setup of Dext was very easy.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

I'd like to see better integration between the Dext products, particularly between Dext Precision and Dext Prepare.

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Dext for invoices and bank statements. It automates document extraction, provides real-time insights, aids in approval workflows, and enhances our data review processes. The high accuracy of data extraction and the ability to neatly store and find invoices are invaluable.

**Official Response from Miguel Mendez:**

> Alex, really appreciate the review; it is fantastic to hear that the high extraction accuracy and approval workflows are proving so valuable for your team's data review processes. Regarding your feedback on product connectivity, Dext has recently addressed this gap by merging Prepare and Precision into a single, unified experience. This means bookkeeping automation and health insights are now accessible in one place without the need to switch between platforms. If your practice hasn't transitioned yet, it is worth reaching out to your account manager to get set up on this new interface, as future feature releases will be prioritised there. Finally, to further enhance your efficiency, it is worth exploring AI Assist, as it learns from your historic coding patterns to suggest automations for repetitive tasks while you maintain total control. Thanks for sharing your insights

 ### 27. Amazing Data Capture and Error Checking That Saves Hours

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** sam m. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Dext?**

Amazing for it's data capture capabilities which saves hours in manual labour. It's also brilliant at sense checking and error checking data that already exists which really helps me with ensuring data is real time and accurate

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

It is my most expensive software I use however, for the clients that utilise it, I bill it on

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Manual labour on the bookkeeping side of things and it ensures my VAT return process is an A tier service

**Official Response from Miguel Mendez:**

> Sam, really appreciate the review; it is fantastic to hear that the data capture and sense-checking capabilities are saving significant manual hours across your practice. Regarding the software cost, the billing model you have described is exactly how many firms justify value to their clients. To further refine your operations, it is worth checking practice settings to monitor time spent, which can assist in adjusting client pricing and unlocking efficiencies. Thanks for sharing your insights.

 ### 28. Streamlines Bookkeeping with a Paperless Touch

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kerry O. | Accountant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Dext?**

I like Dext because it's paperless, helping me avoid filing, and it speeds up my bookkeeping processes. The paperless effect really stands out to me. It also allows me to work remotely successfully, which means I can work fewer hours. The setup was very easy, and it does more than the previous product, Autoentry, which is why we switched. Overall, I find these features make Dext very valuable.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

I think the package I use is too big for some clients, so it's not always the best value.

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dext's paperless system speeds up my bookkeeping processes and helps me work remotely, allowing me to work fewer hours.

 ### 29. User-Friendly Dext That Takes the Stress Out of Bookkeeping

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Natalie S. | Accountant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Dext?**

I love the fact that Dext is so user friendly and takes a lot of the workload and stress of bookkeeping off my team but also from the clients as well

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

There's nothing in particular that I don't like. But it would be great if Dext was able to do the full accounting process instead of linking to Xero or QuickBooks etc.

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

So dext takes a lot of the manual bookkeeping tasks away from us by data mining and creating rules, remembering client behaviors etc to automate information

**Official Response from Miguel Mendez:**

> Natalie, glad it's making life easier on both sides of the relationship. The rules and behaviour learning piece is genuinely where Dext compounds over time as the more it sees from each client, the less your team has to touch. On the accounting software point, the integration is intentional rather than a gap as Dext is built to be the capture and intelligence layer while QBO or Xero handles the ledger, but it's useful feedback on where the boundaries feel frustrating. If you haven't explored the Dextension for Xero or QBO yet, it lets your team view Dext coding history and document details without ever leaving their accounting software, which closes a lot of that back-and-forth.

 ### 30. Exceptional Functionality, Seamless Integrations

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lynsey W. | Bookkeeper, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Dext?**

The Functionality and ease of use, integrations with other softwares

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

The cost is probably the only thing, it is one the high side and you pay extra for going of your supplier statements allocation for month

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The supplier statements function saves a lot of time for me and the expense report is a brilliant feature as this too saves a lot of time.

 ### 31. Time-Saving Invoice Processing with Dext

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** EHT A. | Managing Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Dext?**

I like that Dext saves me a tonne of time by processing mass invoices and auto-categorizing most suppliers without manual input. I enjoy setting up supplier rules and easily editing items, which gives me more confidence in the output since I can ensure data is extracted correctly. I also appreciate the potential Dext has for saving time, which, in turn, saves money.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

The user interface could use some tidying up. Specifically, I wish all settings were in one place rather than so many submenus.

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dext saves me a ton of time by processing mass invoices and auto-categorizing suppliers without manual input. It lets me set supplier rules, edit items easily, and boosts my confidence in the output, which saves both time and money.

**Official Response from Miguel Mendez:**

> EHT, it is great to hear that auto-categorisation and bulk invoice processing are driving such significant time savings and boosting confidence in your data output.
Regarding your feedback on the UI and settings menus, it is worth reaching out to your account manager to explore the practice settings for standardising your configuration. Additionally, for your ongoing workflows, utilising flags can help you focus specifically on exceptions needing review without the need to navigate through different menus. We appreciate you sharing these insights on how we can further refine the user experience. Thanks for your review.

 ### 32. Smooth, Accurate Integrations and a Handy Vault Feature

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** June 26, 2026

**What do you like best about Dext?**

I like how Dext integrates with the accounting softwares to ensure accuracy when reconciling debtors and creditors. I also like the Vault feature as this can help keep on top of items such as statements and filter out invoices etc. Dext runs very smoothly too to and quickly feeds data through to 3rd party software. I liek the intergration with Amazon too as lots of our clients use this.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

Sometimes the health scores can glitch and take a while to sync

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is helpling us identifying issues such as duplicate transactions, mutlicoded contacts etc which we may not identify without dext

 ### 33. Automated Receipt Capture That Saves Time and Reduces Errors

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Dext?**

Dext's biggest advantage is automating bookkeeping. It captures data from receipts and invoices, extracts the key information automatically, and sends it to accounting software like Xero. This saves time, reduces manual data entry and errors, and helps businesses and accountants keep accurate, organized financial records.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

while the extraction is generally very good, it still benefits from human review—especially for unusual invoices, complex VAT situations, or poor quality scans.

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dext solves the problem of time-consuming, error-prone bookkeeping by automating document capture, data extraction, and record management, making financial processes faster, more accurate, and easier to manage.

 ### 34. Time-Saving, Simple to Use, Yet Lacks Smooth Setup

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew N. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2026

**What do you like best about Dext?**

I use Dext for putting invoices into Sage, and it allows significant time savings, especially with exporting into Excel. I really like the simplicity and speed of Dext, particularly how quickly it loads invoices, which saves me a lot of time waiting. Compared to AutoEntry, which I still use for one company, Dext is far superior for most of what I do.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

Rental statements make it long-winded. The initial setup wasn't quite as easy as I would have liked, and I lost projects when it went down and had to reinstall. All projects disappeared.

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Dext for putting invoices into Sage. It saves time by exporting into Excel and loading invoices quickly, so I don't have to wait.

**Official Response from Miguel Mendez:**

> Andrew, good to hear the speed and simplicity are making a real difference on your invoice volumes, especially compared to AutoEntry. On rental statements and the missing projects, both are worth raising directly with the support team as they can walk through the most efficient setup for your document type and investigate what happened to your data. If you have not explored AI Assist yet, it learns from your historic coding patterns and starts suggesting account codes automatically, which can reduce the manual review time on your regular Sage invoices considerably.

 ### 35. DEXT Streamlines Extraction with Ease

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jenny S. | managing director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Dext?**

Thes best features about DEXT are that it streamlines the extraction process

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

the online help feature is not my best feature of DEXT. Sometimes you just need to speak toa person. However, my account manager has always some to the rescue when needed

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DEXT is extracting data for invoices that solves a time issue for me with all clients

**Official Response from Miguel Mendez:**

> Hi Jenny, thanks for your review. We are glad to hear Dext is saving time across your client base, that's exactly what it should be doing at practice scale. Your point about self-serve support is fair and well noted, it's useful feedback for the team. In the meantime, your account manager is always the fastest route when you need a real answer quickly. If you ever want to explore ways to reduce the repetitive coding work across clients, AI Assist is worth a look as it learns from your patterns and starts suggesting categories automatically over time.

 ### 36. Easy-to-Use Accounting Tool with Efficient Features

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Evie Joy B. | Client Accountant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Dext?**

Easy user interface for accountants and clients. Multiple efficient features e.g. supplier rules, expenses, fetch/connections. Desktop and app versions both easy to use. Quick integration to accounting softwares

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

Sometimes un-syncs from software (Xero).

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

More efficient and streamlined bookkeeping processes for all clients. Easier to spot duplicates, and a great audit trail left in Archive

 ### 37. Time-Saving Auto Flow, Best for Bookkeeping

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ella L. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Dext?**

I like using Dext for bookkeeping, and I've been relying on it since 2019. The support is great as they go at length to explain how to extract or post data, which is valuable to me in solving bookkeeping challenges. Among the tools I've tried, Dext still remains the best. I particularly appreciate the auto flow feature because it saves time, and I find that really helpful.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

Filtering could be more simple

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dext helps by explaining how to extract or post data, saving me time with its auto flow feature in my bookkeeping tasks.

 ### 38. Pleasant, Responsive Support Whenever I Call

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Trisha S. | Senior accountant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 18, 2026

**What do you like best about Dext?**

Always someone answered my call. Staff members are pleasant when speaking

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

The software has some limitations. For example, it does not show either the total number of invoices processed or the total value of the invoices. Downloading options are confusing and too many options

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Digitalising invoices and cloud saving them

**Official Response from Miguel Mendez:**

> Hi Trisha, glad the support team is always reachable and pleasant to deal with. On invoice totals, the costs list view does not currently surface a running count or total value summary, though exporting to CSV lets you calculate those figures quickly, and the Data Health and Insights module surfaces practice-level activity stats and document volumes per client if you have not explored that yet. On downloads, the number of options can feel like a lot and it is noted for the product team, but the tools menu in your costs or sales inbox lets you select specific items and pick your preferred format from there. If you have not looked at Dext U yet, it has structured on-demand training covering exactly these kinds of workflows and is included in your subscription. Thanks for your review.

 ### 39. Faultless Automation and Seamless Accounting Module Integration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stephen G. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Dext?**

The automation and almost faultless extraction of information, with the seamless linking to accountancy modules

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

No real downsides, I have had small delays in the past in talking to support

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows me to review my clients’ cost information whenever I need a more in-depth understanding of specific costs.

**Official Response from Miguel Mendez:**

> Stephen, it is fantastic to hear that our faultless extraction and accounting module links are driving such efficiency for your practice. Regarding your feedback on support response times, we have recently introduced faster live chat access to address exactly those types of delays. For non-urgent queries, the Help Centre offers comprehensive self-serve coverage to get you moving quickly. Additionally, please do reach out to your account manager to escalate any persistent issues. Since you are focused on seamless automation, it is also worth exploring AI Assist, as it learns from your historic patterns to suggest further bookkeeping automations while you maintain total control. Thanks for your review.

 ### 40. Impressive First Impression with Clear, Helpful Onboarding

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 25, 2026

**What do you like best about Dext?**

I joined yesterday and this review is purely based on the experience I had on the call with the representative. He was very clear and showed me a number of ways to help me familiarise myself with the system. I'm still learning how to use, but is impressive so far.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

There isn't anything I have discovered that I do not like about the system

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The integration with my software system, Sage 50 Accounts, saving me precious time on previously manual based tasks

 ### 41. Accurate Data and Easy Supplier Invoice Uploads

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christine J. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Dext?**

Accuracy of the data and can ease to upload supplier invoices

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

Synchronisation of projects - when a project in QuickBooks is created it is not refreshed overnight. Also when a project is archived, I'd really love for the integration to then not make the project visible in Dext.

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time saving on data entry. I like the supplier rules that help with this too.

**Official Response from Miguel Mendez:**

> Hi Christine, thanks for your review! We're really glad to hear that Dext is helping you and that the data accuracy is working well for you.
On the project sync with QBO, you can manually trigger a refresh by going to Account Settings, then Reload All Lists, to pick up any changes straight away.
As you're already making great use of Supplier Rules, you might also want to explore our Auto-Publish feature, which can automatically push items straight to QBO once extracted, saving you even more time!
If you need any further help, please don't hesitate to reach out to your Account Manager or our Help Centre. We're always happy to help.
Thanks again for your review, Christine.

 ### 42. Seamless Xero Integration, Accurate OCR, and Time-Saving Automation

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brett M. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Dext?**

Its seamless integration into Xero makes posting easy, and the OCR is extremely accurate in most cases. The user interface is straightforward to navigate, with automation tools that help speed up processes.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

Pricing is more expensive than other competitors

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping me outsource the bookkeeping element, ultimately saving time and money

**Official Response from Miguel Mendez:**

> Brett, good to hear the Xero integration and automation are doing the heavy lifting on the bookkeeping side. The pricing feedback is appreciated and will be passed on to the team. If you're not already using the Dextension for Xero, it lets you pull up Dext document history and coding details without leaving Xero at all, which adds a bit more speed to the review process when you're working in the books. Thank you for your review.

 ### 43. Efficient Invoicing with Robust OCR and AI

I use Dext for invoice OCR and processing, and it really helps with workflow to record invoices accurately in QuickBooks. I like the OCR tech; it's really good, and the new AI agent helps a lot, making it even better and smarter. Setting up Dext was easy, and no training was needed, which was a big plus.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

better integration into QuickBooks compared to xero

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Dext for invoice OCR and processing, which helps me accurately record invoices in QuickBooks. The OCR technology is really good, and the new AI agent enhances the process, making it smarter.

 ### 45. Accurate, Time-Saving, and Truly Trustworthy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Its automation and workflows. I can completely trust the accuracy and save hours of time every week.

**Official Response from Miguel Mendez:**

> Seven years is a good run, Laura, and trust really is the thing that has to be earned with financial data. If you're leaning heavily on automation and workflows, it's worth checking out AI Assist if you haven't already as it layers on top of your existing rules and gets sharper over time, picking up coding patterns and flagging anything that looks off before it reaches your accounting software.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Dext?**

Dext is amazing at capturing data from invoices and receipts. It pulls out the key information and converts it into a format that feeds straight into my accounting software, which makes the whole process much simpler and efficient.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

There is nothing I have found to disliked

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dext is giving me the tool to convert documents into a usable format which saves me so much time.

**Official Response from Miguel Mendez:**

> Thank you, really glad the capture is feeding straight into your accounting software without friction. If you want to take it a step further, Auto-publish can handle that final push automatically once items are coded, so the whole process runs end to end without any manual steps.

 ### 48. User-friendly and and Statements reconciliation made easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Dext?**

Dext is very user-friendly for both accountants and non-finance users. It’s straightforward to set up accounts, connect to Xero, load categories, and create approval workflows. Processing invoices is quick, and the statement checks are a real game-changer, all at a reasonable price.

**What do you dislike about Dext?**

AI/intelligence still needs some improvement.

**What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Statement reconciliation used to be the most time-consuming month-end task, but since we started using Dext, it has become much easier. We can quickly check for missing invoices, request them, refresh, and then it’s done.

**Official Response from Miguel Mendez:**

> Appreciate you taking the time to share this; it is great to hear that statement checks have transformed your month-end from a major time sink into a manageable task. Regarding your feedback on the AI performance, it is worth exploring AI Assist, as it learns from your historic coding patterns to suggest automations for repetitive bookkeeping tasks while you maintain total control. If you are noticing specific gaps, please do share those details with your account manager so we can investigate how to further refine your experience. Thanks for your review.
