The processes all work. Buttons are in a logical place and in sequence. It often struggles picking up the due date and the user interface could definitively be made more attractive and user friendly. It's expanded my market from just local to clients 400km away or more. It makes my life much easier and also increases my efficiency as a bookkeeper, allowing me to provide more value in other areas, or to serve more clients. In addition to this, What I've found is that it keeps my clients happy, as they no longer have to find a way to get me the documentation for things, it just flows through the system. **What do you dislike about Dext?** I'd really like if the bank feature on Receipt Bank was rolled out sooner, and better. It also costs an additional fee, which isn't ideal as I'd like to just continue paying the flat rate for everything. I'd also like if the Missing paperwork feature was a bit more flushed out. Currently it allows you to see but I can't find a way to edit these, as sometimes the paperwork doesn't actually exist (Bank fees and stuff like that) Overall the advantages outway the shortcomings and I know these thigns are being worked on though. **Recommendations to others considering Dext:** Try it out. They instantly feel like you can save them time and money by taking a good photo of the correct taxable items. Then they are excited they can add all of their staff members and pay the same rate. **What do you dislike about Dext?** The only thing I dislike about Receipt Bank is when you make it so easy the client thinks they can do it themselves. The problem with this is - garbage in, garbage out. If it is not configured properly and the client is not taught to use it then the correct information is not going in. The data they keep may not be enough for the tax department but they have a false sense of security. Let the experts set it up! The only issue I have is sometimes the app will read a supplier as one thing, and then the same supplier will be different the next. The ease in which you can drag and drop files in is really good too **What do you dislike about Dext?** Occasionally the supplier names aren't captured all that accurately and they therefore don't match existing contact names in Xero (which can lead to unwanted new contacts being created) The processing time can be excessive at times. Setting up companies for in-house use only required creation of dummy email addresses which of course cannot collect the invitation link for creating password. Would like there to be a simpler option. **What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?** Many clients VAT returns and calculated on invoice listings which in the past was very manual. Now we can upload the invoices and receipts in a fraction of the time and simply download the CSV and shuffle it in to the required format. ### 13. For those that are used to scanning and saving, we get them to email through documents. For other clients, they are stocked when they can take a photo of their invoices and send them straight through to receipt bank after taking the photo - and then throw the original document out. **What do you dislike about Dext?** There isn't much to dislike in Receipt Bank, it really is the ideal receipt management software. **Recommendations to others considering Dext:** Just do it. I just upload multi page to my computer and upload the whole lot in one hit. I have saved myself at least 2 hours every week especially when uploading lients receipts and them having access to upload themselves. **What do you dislike about Dext?** That it doesnt pick up on hand written invoices. It takes a small amount of time to set up the Top 10 Suppliers, completing the account codes, payment methods and description - but it's well worth it to be able to use AutoPublish - one click to then publish as many invoices that are in Receipt Bank for that supplier, and they're all published. **What do you dislike about Dext?** Nothing really, except cost - I currently count the price as a cost of sales to my business, but this may change going forward. **What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?** The data extracted from purchase invoices and receipts leaves little room for data import errors, such as can occur with manual data entry. I am able to check account codes and payment methods before publishing, and this all takes so much less time than previously. Leaving me free to deal with other business matters. And no more filing as the digital image of the invoices are shown on the actual accounts software. ### 21. That receipt bank knows that it is GST or Non-GST, and it is intuitive to find the account code once you enter a few times. **What do you dislike about Dext?** Nothing at the moment. It is doing what I need. **Recommendations to others considering Dext:** Take the Leap. I took 8 years and wish that I had done it earlier. **What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?** Being able to work better with my clients in getting their receipts. Integration into both QBO and Xero is great. **What do you dislike about Dext?** A few niggles: looks very old-fashioned, expenses reports can only be emailed to one person (we have 2-step approvals). **Recommendations to others considering Dext:** It's the best data capture software out there for those who prepare expenses reports. **What problems is Dext solving and how is that benefiting you?** Gets rid of paperwork and means we get the receipts and invoices we need.
