What do you like best about Cobalt?

We’ve worked with Cobalt for over 10 years, and they’ve become an essential extension of our team. Our system is highly customized to meet the unique needs of our certification processes, and Cobalt has been instrumental in making that happen. While we have worked with Cobalt to create custom processes, there are also features built-in to the base product that have enhanced our users’ experience by enabling a wider range of self-service functionality for portal users. For example, Cobalt’s Universal Cart enables candidates and certificants to purchase multiple products at a given time, making the purchase process more convenient and efficient.

One of the most exciting recent enhancements is our new bundled product functionality. By incorporating product bundling as part of the user experience, our users can benefit from cost savings and have the opportunity to discover new products and offers. The Cobalt product does include bundled product functionality out of the box, but we had a different, strategic objective with this initiative. Cobalt helped bring our idea to life.

Cobalt’s flexibility with customizations, combined with the robust features of Dynamics 365, has made our certification management process more efficient. Given that we are a tech-savvy team, the relationship with Cobalt feels like a true collaboration rather than a traditional vendor-client dynamic. We continuously work with them to improve and refine our systems, and their partnership has been critical to our success. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cobalt?

One of the challenges we've faced with Cobalt is the complexity that comes with having a system that's been developed and expanded over more than 10 years. With hundreds of development cases in the system, it can be difficult to find the specific information we need. In some instances, we’ve had to explain processes to support staff because past documentation wasn't detailed enough or was hard to locate. This can be frustrating, especially for issues that only come up occasionally.

That said, we’ve been open about this issue, and Cobalt has taken steps to address it. They’ve prioritized working to create updated and more accessible documentation for both our team and theirs, and they committed to improving their case management process to ensure that details aren’t missed going forward. While it’s still a work in progress, we appreciate their effort in resolving this. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
