## About Cleo Pay Accounts Payable Automation
Cleo Pay handles five core functions in one platform: 1. Invoice processing. AI scans invoices, extracts line items, amounts, due dates, and GL codes, then routes them for approval. No manual data entry required. 2. Vendor payments. Same-day and next-day ACH transfers sent directly to vendor bank accounts with no per-transaction fees. Payments can be scheduled for future dates. 3. Vendor onboarding. New vendors receive a shareable link or QR code to self-register, connect their bank account through Plaid, and submit their W-9. The average vendor completes setup in under 5 minutes. 4. Approval workflows. Multi-step approval chains with role-based permissions. Finance teams set rules by amount, department, or location so the right people approve the right payments. 5. Tax compliance. Cleo Pay collects W-9 forms during onboarding, tracks contractor payments throughout the year, and prepares and e-files 1099s at year-end.

**What do you like best about Cleo Pay Accounts Payable Automation?**

The vendor onboarding flow is the standout feature. You send a shareable link, the vendor fills out their banking info and W-9 through Plaid, and they're set up to receive payments. No app download, no back-and-forth emails chasing tax forms. Most vendors finish in under 15 minutes. For businesses that work with a lot of contractors and freelancers (event crews, DJs, freelance chefs), this removes a real bottleneck.

The other thing that stands out is the pricing structure. Same-day ACH is included with no per-transaction fee. If you've used Bill.com, you know they charge $0.59 per standard ACH and more for faster options, plus per-user fees that add up once you have a few people approving invoices. Cleo's flat monthly pricing is simpler to budget for, especially for small teams running 30-100 vendor payments a month.

The 1099 tracking being built into the payment flow (rather than being a separate tool or end-of-year scramble) is also genuinely useful. It collects the W-9 upfront during onboarding and tracks cumulative payments per contractor throughout the year, so filing season doesn't require going back through spreadsheets.

**What do you dislike about Cleo Pay Accounts Payable Automation?**

The product is still early. The integration list is limited to QuickBooks right now. If you're on Xero, Sage, or NetSuite, you'd need to wait or work around it. But the team is small, so feature requests are faster to ship than they would at a larger company.

**What problems is Cleo Pay Accounts Payable Automation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem I've seen with hospitality clients is the W-9 chase. Restaurants, venues, and event producers work with dozens of contractors, and every year someone is scrambling to collect tax forms before filing deadlines. Cleo collects the W-9 during onboarding before anyone gets paid, so by the time 1099 season arrives the data is already there.
The other problem is payment speed and cost. Hospitality runs on vendor relationships and contractors often expect to get paid fast. Same-day ACH at a flat monthly rate with no per-payment fee makes a real difference when you're running 30 to 100 payments a month.
