## CET Reviews
  ### 1. Not suitable for other types of users

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 06, 2024

**What do you like best about CET?**

I don't use it for designing furniture layouts.

**What do you dislike about CET?**

I use furniture layouts in autocad for a variety of reasons where furniture needs to be the back drop. Evac plans, Occupancy and relocation plans. Departmental location maps and many other types of plans. Problem is, it is impossible to clear up the visual clutter because the CET layers don't make any sense. You think you are turning off the text and then one type of worksurface will also get turned off. I usually end up just exploding everything, getting rid of what I don't need and put it all on the zero layer and block it. But then that means a facility designer can't modify a configuration down the road. I can do in 5 minutes with CAP blocks what takes me an hour to do with CET blocks. The layers don't even say what an object on it is!
Please remember that selling furniture is not the only thing that happens with a furniture layout. Sometimes those layouts are used for other reasons by a customer facility department.
I don't think my role is listed below. I am an end user who has completely other reasons for needing a nimble furniture layout that will do what I need it to do.

**What problems is CET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None.

  ### 2. Cet Designer

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carmina M. | Industrial Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2022

**What do you like best about CET?**

It's an easy tool you can work with, it's intuitive, and at some point, I would recommend it if you are a newbie in the render field. The program has the essential tools that you can work with to generate a good render to show to your clients so they can imagine better how it's going to be their project in the future.
You can easily add your models of products with one click to your project.

**What do you dislike about CET?**

If you want a basic, easy-to-create and good-looking render, it's a great tool. However, if you want to create specific details in it, I think it's better to use another tool, for example, some things like changing the type of point of lights, where the direction of them come from to increase the quality of your render it's a little tricky if you compare it to other programs like 3D max, or if you want to create all the scene of your project including the walls or the ceiling you have to be careful with the lights, and I don't know why sometimes some of the products you imported from your library when you tried to render it seems like their burned or something like that, some colors don't look like them too, or when the program has actualizations some of your products appears like blocks, so you have to wait until all the actualizations are done.

**What problems is CET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Adding some intuitive ways to create or add products to the project, some filters when you are creating a quote, but there do not always show you on a quick or guideway what types of improvements they made; sometimes it's frustrating when there are too many actualizations, and you cannot work well because you have to wait until all the actualizations are finished.

  ### 3. Love & hate relationship

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alan L. | Dealer Sales Consultant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 05, 2022

**What do you like best about CET?**

How easy it is to be able to place orders into the system. Also, the placement of furniture or system that are used is very friendly when drawing new sets of plans.
Love the visual representations. Also how fast it is to enable the rendering functions.

**What do you dislike about CET?**

So many things that are not user friendly that are core functionality, as an example you are not able to change the background color (e.g. Autocad which you can select white, black, red, blue etc).
No reference/snapping, you can use the arrange Tool but is not as friendly as the Autocad Experience (excuse the comparison), when drawing in CAD you can start moving an object and it will create reference dash lines that will point out when you are aligning correctly.
Almost no mirror functions.
Sometimes the software can get incredibly slow which is super frustrating.

**Recommendations to others considering CET:**

If you are familiar with any architecture software (not CAD) it is very user friendly and similar to those.

**What problems is CET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Again, being able to create a set of drawings and at the same time being able to see the pricing and full list of parts that will be included in the billing, is of huge help and also eases greatly the workload dynamics. Also how you can put in furniture and sets of plans its very easy with drag and drop functions.

  ### 4. The Big Brother of furniture specification software.

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2022

**What do you like best about CET?**

Great for new users who don't know how to spec furniture and need the "culture" to feel connected.
Two screens, simultaneous 2D and 3D experience is very cool. Renderings can be almost photo-realistic.

**What do you dislike about CET?**

Not taught in Design schools or used in A & D Firms, dwg & Revit exports not editable by those users, two hand multiple fingers required, SCROLLING!, slow start up, lacks universal tools , Photo Lab interface, settings, controls horrible unpredictable results, spec "rules" change the items in drawing based upon updated rules (good luck opening a drawing from a few years ago and having it be as you left it), automation tools cannot be disabled (reconfig nightmare), no universal part search or part replace, SCROLLING!, when you stop paying it stops working.
This software was designed for furniture manufacturers to control their users, not for designers/specifiers to control their designs. Unclear install drawings, SCROLLING!, Extension sidebar cannot be altered, repositioned or made to fly in/out (takes up a quarter of the screen real estate) and the SCROLLING! Individual manufactures Extensions (catalogs) are inconsistent and haphazard and always expanding when not needed.
As a 25+ year AutoCAD user, I cannot say how much I dislike this software without being censored. I believe it's sets the furniture interior design profession back and limits the potential employee pool to novices and amatures who have little or no design experience. (You can't tell it's doing it wrong if you don't know how to do it yourself!).
If this is the way of the future in commercial furniture specification software, it's a sad day for interior designers. Unfortunately, it's already becoming the manufacturer software of choice (for reasons stated above) and the competition has either been absorbed (ProjectSpce is a CET/Configure company now) or they fail to see the writing on the wall (2020/CAP now Cyncl) hasn't upgraded their software enough to keep up and are now doomed to become obsolete in the next five years or so.

**What problems is CET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Carrying the cost of two design specification software programs for too long. The transition from CAD to CET has been slow or not feasable.

  ### 5. CET Designer Review by User

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Azeem s. | Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2022

**What do you like best about CET?**

I like the Ability to design, render & specify.

**What do you dislike about CET?**

The dated layout needs to catch up with other software.

**What problems is CET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CET designer helps us by providing a platform where I can design & present layouts & bring them to life.

  ### 6. User-Friendly and Creates Impressive Results

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maria L. | Administrative Sales Assistant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2022

**What do you like best about CET?**

CET is so user-friendly, and the support provided by Configura is top-notch. I have received support on the Help section of the website, as well as via chat, and have always been able to work through the issue at hand.

**What do you dislike about CET?**

I find myself referencing the Help section of the Configura website, as there are some technical aspects that take a little time to figure out, such as the photo studio.

**What problems is CET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Configura gives us an easy way to create impressive classroom layouts for our dealers to showcase our classroom furniture. We also used it to create photorealistic renderings.

  ### 7. It's a One Stop Shop!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 20, 2022

**What do you like best about CET?**

It is a great platform that allows you to work in both 2D and 3D views simultaneously. It saves time and is very efficient. The renderings produced though this program are very impressive!

**What do you dislike about CET?**

There are always updates to the program, sometimes this causes a lot of bugs and poor performance of the program. Also sometimes the install drawings produced are hard to read.

**What problems is CET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They do have a focus group specifically looking into drawing crashes, inefficiencies and just overall poor performance. They have made some minor fixes and are constantly looking for feedback and user involvement to enhance the program.

  ### 8. CET Designer - Interior Designer Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alison S. | Product Application Design Analyst , Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 06, 2021

**What do you like best about CET?**

I love all the functionality of CET - the platform allows multiple manufacturers and vendors to showcase their products while also allowing designers the capability of using their products within a design for a client. The functionality allows the designer to select proper product options as well as finishes and fabrics selections that all show the client what to expect for their final designed space.

**What do you dislike about CET?**

I dislike the complexity of learning Catalogs to manage a manufacturer's CET Extension. There is a training class online for this, but I found it extremely difficult to follow along with and very hard to learn overall. I am not sure even after the 5 day course that I am able to maintain my companies extension since having the training.

**Recommendations to others considering CET:**

Find a way to really learn catalogs if you want a CET Extension as a manufacturer

**What problems is CET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to show products in clients spaces is a problem this software solves for us as designers. I think this benefits the furniture dealers and designers who need this software to be able to show placement and space planning of different products within different spaces.

  ### 9. CET REVIEW - WRCEH

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Courtney E. | Regional Sales Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 04, 2021

**What do you like best about CET?**

We are in development for our brand to go live on CET and the process so far has been amazing. The progress they have made in such a short time is extrodinary.

**What do you dislike about CET?**

So far I don't have anything I dislike. We have struggled a little bit with clarification of part numbers, but that is mostly due to the way we have to set them up for another software.

**Recommendations to others considering CET:**

Would highly recommend getting product on CET.

**What problems is CET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are solving the problem of our partners not specifiying our product because we are not on their paltform. The benefits of being on CET and being able to not only specify but render is going to be a game changer for us.

  ### 10. Great experience with minor setbacks

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 04, 2022

**What do you like best about CET?**

I love that is is really intuitive and really easy to use. I think specifying furniture and ten connecting to hedberg make it really simple for everyone.

**What do you dislike about CET?**

It can be really slow and hard to know what fabrics are and arent available with certain products.

**What problems is CET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

MAking it easier to go off standard products,

  ### 11. great visual specifier

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 19, 2021

**What do you like best about CET?**

the ease of 3D modeling while specifying from manufacturer catalogs

**What do you dislike about CET?**

there seems to be glitches that happen often

**What problems is CET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Communicating a complete visual concept to the end user. This program gives a better grasp of the design intent

  ### 12. Ease and Efficiency of Specification and Rendering

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 26, 2019

**What do you like best about CET?**

CET Provides furniture dealers and designers to easily present and specify furniture for clients. The rendering process has provided much easier features and more realistic imaging to help clients visualize their space prior to ordering and installing the furniture.

**What do you dislike about CET?**

Some of the features make it difficult to use this as a full Construction Documents application. We still have to utilize other programs to fully complete drawings which makes for a lot of back and forth and updating. It would help to provide more options for wall poche, page layouts and updating features, as well as layering of floors. Also, when exporting to CAD it would be helpful to be able to create layers so that the layers correspond with those in CAD that are already set up rather than having to reset or explode blocks when the drawing is imported.

**What problems is CET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Furniture specification, rendering and visualization, quick floor planning and space planning.I have noticed a huge change in the quickness and efficient use of time and reconfiguration within the program. The dimension lines and other text features provide a more seamless and easy way to connect and transform the drawings. The paper view has also improved by the amount of options for layers that are visible in each view.

  ### 13. Great easy and fast way to specify furniture

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stacey L. | Interior Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2019

**What do you like best about CET?**

Being able to draw in 2D and see in 3D is a game changer and being able to use the software in client meetings to make quick changes and 'design in real time' is awesome

**What do you dislike about CET?**

sometimes it's buggy and not all manufacture extensions perform the same

**Recommendations to others considering CET:**

Get it! Once you get the basics down you will not want to go back to specifying furniture in AutoCAD

**What problems is CET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps a lot w/ being able to look under surfaces to see any support obstructions and being able to apply materials to see the color scheme before ordering
