"Not suitable for other types of users"
What do you like best about CET?

I don't use it for designing furniture layouts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CET?

I use furniture layouts in autocad for a variety of reasons where furniture needs to be the back drop. Evac plans, Occupancy and relocation plans. Departmental location maps and many other types of plans. Problem is, it is impossible to clear up the visual clutter because the CET layers don't make any sense. You think you are turning off the text and then one type of worksurface will also get turned off. I usually end up just exploding everything, getting rid of what I don't need and put it all on the zero layer and block it. But then that means a facility designer can't modify a configuration down the road. I can do in 5 minutes with CAP blocks what takes me an hour to do with CET blocks. The layers don't even say what an object on it is!

Please remember that selling furniture is not the only thing that happens with a furniture layout. Sometimes those layouts are used for other reasons by a customer facility department.

I don't think my role is listed below. I am an end user who has completely other reasons for needing a nimble furniture layout that will do what I need it to do. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about CET?

It's an easy tool you can work with, it's intuitive, and at some point, I would recommend it if you are a newbie in the render field. The program has the essential tools that you can work with to generate a good render to show to your clients so they can imagine better how it's going to be their project in the future.

You can easily add your models of products with one click to your project. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CET?

If you want a basic, easy-to-create and good-looking render, it's a great tool. However, if you want to create specific details in it, I think it's better to use another tool, for example, some things like changing the type of point of lights, where the direction of them come from to increase the quality of your render it's a little tricky if you compare it to other programs like 3D max, or if you want to create all the scene of your project including the walls or the ceiling you have to be careful with the lights, and I don't know why sometimes some of the products you imported from your library when you tried to render it seems like their burned or something like that, some colors don't look like them too, or when the program has actualizations some of your products appears like blocks, so you have to wait until all the actualizations are done. "Love & hate relationship"
What do you like best about CET?

How easy it is to be able to place orders into the system. Also, the placement of furniture or system that are used is very friendly when drawing new sets of plans.

Love the visual representations. Also how fast it is to enable the rendering functions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CET?

So many things that are not user friendly that are core functionality, as an example you are not able to change the background color (e.g. Autocad which you can select white, black, red, blue etc).

No reference/snapping, you can use the arrange Tool but is not as friendly as the Autocad Experience (excuse the comparison), when drawing in CAD you can start moving an object and it will create reference dash lines that will point out when you are aligning correctly.

Almost no mirror functions.

Sometimes the software can get incredibly slow which is super frustrating. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The Big Brother of furniture specification software."
What do you like best about CET?

Great for new users who don't know how to spec furniture and need the "culture" to feel connected.

Two screens, simultaneous 2D and 3D experience is very cool. Renderings can be almost photo-realistic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CET?

Not taught in Design schools or used in A & D Firms, dwg & Revit exports not editable by those users, two hand multiple fingers required, SCROLLING!, slow start up, lacks universal tools , Photo Lab interface, settings, controls horrible unpredictable results, spec "rules" change the items in drawing based upon updated rules (good luck opening a drawing from a few years ago and having it be as you left it), automation tools cannot be disabled (reconfig nightmare), no universal part search or part replace, SCROLLING!, when you stop paying it stops working.

This software was designed for furniture manufacturers to control their users, not for designers/specifiers to control their designs. Unclear install drawings, SCROLLING!, Extension sidebar cannot be altered, repositioned or made to fly in/out (takes up a quarter of the screen real estate) and the SCROLLING! Individual manufactures Extensions (catalogs) are inconsistent and haphazard and always expanding when not needed.

As a 25+ year AutoCAD user, I cannot say how much I dislike this software without being censored. I believe it's sets the furniture interior design profession back and limits the potential employee pool to novices and amatures who have little or no design experience. (You can't tell it's doing it wrong if you don't know how to do it yourself!).

If this is the way of the future in commercial furniture specification software, it's a sad day for interior designers. Unfortunately, it's already becoming the manufacturer software of choice (for reasons stated above) and the competition has either been absorbed (ProjectSpce is a CET/Configure company now) or they fail to see the writing on the wall (2020/CAP now Cyncl) hasn't upgraded their software enough to keep up and are now doomed to become obsolete in the next five years or so. "User-Friendly and Creates Impressive Results"
What do you like best about CET?

CET is so user-friendly, and the support provided by Configura is top-notch. I have received support on the Help section of the website, as well as via chat, and have always been able to work through the issue at hand. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CET?

I find myself referencing the Help section of the Configura website, as there are some technical aspects that take a little time to figure out, such as the photo studio. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"It's a One Stop Shop!"
What do you like best about CET?

It is a great platform that allows you to work in both 2D and 3D views simultaneously. It saves time and is very efficient. The renderings produced though this program are very impressive! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CET?

There are always updates to the program, sometimes this causes a lot of bugs and poor performance of the program. Also sometimes the install drawings produced are hard to read. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"CET Designer - Interior Designer Review"
What do you like best about CET?

I love all the functionality of CET - the platform allows multiple manufacturers and vendors to showcase their products while also allowing designers the capability of using their products within a design for a client. The functionality allows the designer to select proper product options as well as finishes and fabrics selections that all show the client what to expect for their final designed space. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CET?

I dislike the complexity of learning Catalogs to manage a manufacturer's CET Extension. There is a training class online for this, but I found it extremely difficult to follow along with and very hard to learn overall. I am not sure even after the 5 day course that I am able to maintain my companies extension since having the training. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"CET REVIEW - WRCEH"
What do you like best about CET?

We are in development for our brand to go live on CET and the process so far has been amazing. The progress they have made in such a short time is extrodinary. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CET?

So far I don't have anything I dislike. We have struggled a little bit with clarification of part numbers, but that is mostly due to the way we have to set them up for another software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
