Students have their assignments' statuses categorized for them, and it's easy for me to look back to prior years' information and data to compare or retrieve. While it takes some one on one time with new employees, they seem to catch on to the system fairly quickly too. **What do you dislike about Blackbaud Learning Management System?** Sometimes the system is slow. I don't know if this is out of the control of your systems, like on 10/20/2025 when Amazon Services was down. Building the bulletin boards and topic sections could offer a few more options. **What problems is Blackbaud Learning Management System solving and how is that benefiting you?** I'm not sure it is solving any problems when it comes to education, other than easy of navigation for students to find lectures/presentations from class, and to submit assignments. It has effectively become the home base for our entire academic operations, significantly improving our efficiency with its tech-heavy solutions. I really appreciate the training and consultant support provided by Blackbaud during our transition to this system, which although demanding due to its comprehensiveness, was not difficult thanks to their assistance. The website management is also very good, catering well to our specific needs. Despite not being the most interwoven system with other software, Blackbaud stands on its own and excels in what it provides. It's great for parents to be able to see their child's class information all in one place too. For teachers, it's easy to take attendance, send emails to families and students, post class news, assign work. **What do you dislike about Blackbaud Learning Management System?** It is difficult to sell the LMS if you are already using Google apps for education. Teachers can assign work in Google Classroom or have them navigate to Google Drive links elsewhere instead of posting it as an assignment in Blackbaud that then ultimately link to Google Drive anyway. The grading plans are difficult to build to your customizations and most importantly for our school, it is difficult to use the Report Cards and Transcripts with how our grading plans are set up. Tracking attendance, grades, etc. is all pretty simple and straightforward. It is very easy for all our students to use, as well as our teachers, and it really helps for homework and other assignments. **What do you dislike about Blackbaud Learning Management System?** Sometimes, updates will be pushed through that completely mess something up. Also, certain parts of it are needlessly complicated, especially when trying to update old systems to the new ones. Grades, activities, contacts, the ability to send out communication. There have been a lot of great upgrades over the past few years that have definitely improved the usage for staff and student. **What do you dislike about Blackbaud Learning Management System?** The transcript setup is very outdated and while we have asked dozens of times for a few, very common upgrades, we have been told the system is "unable to accommodate" such a request. We see transcripts from other schools daily, and the vast majority include these efficiencies - but these schools use platforms other than BB. One other concern I have is that often when using customer support we are told very different things based on who we speak with. One tech might say "that is not possible" and another might say "I can definitley help you with that." It can be discouraging to be told "no" only to speak with someone from another BB school who says "oh yeah, they helped me set that up." Often times, basic functions tend to abruptly stop working; items aren't displayed properly, files aren't able to get uploaded successfully. Ease of use varies frequently. Support also feels like a very hit or miss piece. It's frustrating that only some people can access support directly, not entirely sure if that's set by my place of work or by Blackbaud. As a small school without an IT department, it takes a lot of time for our faculty /staff to assist families throughout the day. Features like turning in work online and uploading all classroom materials are essential during Covid. Easy to use. **What do you dislike about Blackbaud Learning Management System?** You cannot access student submissions from the gradebook--they're not linked. Teachers are also not notified when missing work has been turned in. Assignments can only be given to the whole class, not to individuals or groups of students. **Recommendations to others considering Blackbaud Learning Management System:** They are actively seeking feedback and adding new features, so although it is not perfect now, it is rapidly improving. **What problems is Blackbaud Learning Management System solving and how is that benefiting you?** Students can be grouped into cocurriculars, organizations, sports, clubs, which makes it easy to know who is involved with what and contact them all at once. ### 29. I feel like there should be more obvious shortcuts to common questions, such as obtaining the roster for a specific class from an enrolled student's schedule, etc. **What problems is Blackbaud Learning Management System solving and how is that benefiting you?** I can get the info I need and trust that it's reliable and valid information. I can run obscure analyses and reports that most people would never need or think they could possibly need, and it's the same process as running the most common reports for educators. ### 30.
