It is fairly easy for students and faculty to navigate as a whole. Students have their assignments' statuses categorized for them, and it's easy for me to look back to prior years' information and data to compare or retrieve. I find the Blackbaud Learning Management System to be quite beneficial due to its appealing visual design, which makes it look nice and professional. I appreciate the system's ability to organize information such as syllabuses and class materials, which is extremely helpful for managing my classes as a teacher. I find the initial setup process of Blackbaud Learning Management System to be quite difficult. Despite its straightforward design, there are too many clicks required to configure different settings, and not everything is intuitive. I wish for a more streamlined process that requires fewer clicks to achieve desired outcomes. Additionally, the system does not handle documents very well, particularly when it comes to writing on them, which is a feature I find lacking. I have been using Blackbaud's Learning Management System for my work in a high school since 2018, and it has been a natural continuation for us since we were prior clients of Blackbaud with their Education Edge program. Blackbaud's system is absolutely essential for our operations, handling everything from our academic and extracurricular programs to our student and employee databases, grading, and transcripts. It has effectively become the home base for our entire academic operations, significantly improving our efficiency with its tech-heavy solutions. I really appreciate the training and consultant support provided by Blackbaud during our transition to this system, which although demanding due to its comprehensiveness, was not difficult thanks to their assistance. Features that stand out include easy data conversion, impressive student scheduling which handles the complexity of our school’s schedule, and robust classroom functions that support digital learning environments effectively. The website management is also very good, catering well to our specific needs. Despite not being the most interwoven system with other software, Blackbaud stands on its own and excels in what it provides. I find the setup of Blackbaud's learning management system very demanding. The learning curve is steep at first. Although the transition wasn't difficult due to good training and consulting support, it still took around a year to fully transition and understand the new terminology and structures. I found the setup process quite challenging, especially the parts that we had to handle ourselves, which were difficult and hard to understand. It seems like we are having to build out a lot of features that seem like they should be endemic to a product designed for schools. Namely: attendence (lol?).

It is very streamlined if you have the Blackbaud Student Information System (SIS) and it feeds that information directly into the LMS. It's great for parents to be able to see their child's class information all in one place too. It is difficult to sell the LMS if you are already using Google apps for education. Teachers can assign work in Google Classroom or have them navigate to Google Drive links elsewhere instead of posting it as an assignment in Blackbaud that then ultimately link to Google Drive anyway. The grading plans are difficult to build to your customizations and most importantly for our school, it is difficult to use the Report Cards and Transcripts with how our grading plans are set up.
