I am the founder of a 501c3 and we streamlined our donor processing to Anedot in 2023. I have used and considered quite a few platforms over the last 20+ years, and one of the things I love best is that Anedot does everything in-house. They are the processor and the merchant services, so our transaction fees are very reasonable and almost all of our donors choose to cover the fees. It's very easy to use, and the customer care from set-up to everyday use is second to none!!! I have found their leadership team, on every level, to be accessible (like.....a for real person, imagine that!!!), incredibly responsive, and they take requests/suggestions and implement them when possible so that both our and our user experience is smooth, simple, and successful. The platform was easy to integrate with our website, and with some assistance, we were able to make sure all workflows were exactly right! We have donors who give on a recurring basis, others who give one-time, and our donors use Anedot regularly in supporting our nonprofit impact. I could not be more pleased with our decision to use Anedot and I would highly encourage any business to consider them if their services align with your needs. I wish we could add (and I'm hopeful that with time it may evolve) would be to have the ability to create more short codes to connect to campaigns. We are multi-faceted in our services, and that would help us in specific fundraising efforts. They have worked with us to meet our needs, but that would be a nice addition, and perhaps a 6 digit text code rather than an 800# would be nice as they have the capacity to do so.

My other dislike over time has been the learning curve, by which we have had some things to clean up in integrations, mapping, etc. where we didn’t have any idea the default settings would create a mess for our financial reports (or that we had to create settings to avoid this). I’ve appreciated the support so very much, but it would be nice to have been given this information on the front end, perhaps an on boarding checklist for new organizations, rather than directions where we could have found the information if we had any idea that we needed to manually create those settings for proper integration.

I really do believe this is a great platform, but you will be wise as a new user to find out as quickly as possible all the things you don’t know before you jump in with both feet. I think an improvement could be sharing specific giving pages to specific emails. We have multiple people on staff and would like our team leads to only see their submissions and not have access to the entirety of our giving platform. At Fort Worth SPARC, we LOVE Anedot. We dislike ourselves for using it far too little. While we have the app on our social media and website, we DO NOT always utilize it on our board and employee social media and emails. ADVICE: 1. Maximize your usage of the ANEDOT app. Once individuals utilize ANEDOT, they will be more inclined to donate to sites with ANEDOT as their single collection device. 2. Utilize customer support at ANEDOT and you will be surprised how many times a key administrator answers. Anedot leadership monitors their call center and it works. As a state senator, I've got to juggle a lot of things, and fundraising is a big one. That's where Anedot comes in. It's pretty straightforward and does the job without any fuss. You don't need to be a tech wizard to use it, which is a relief for me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

One thing I'm not too thrilled about with Anedot are the fees. While I get that processing donations isn't free and every service has its costs, the fees can add up, especially for a campaign that's watching every dollar. It's a bit of a downer when you're trying to maximize every donation. I wish they had a more flexible fee structure or lower rates, especially for smaller campaigns that could really use the break. The legal side of the setup process is quite unclear to me. They have probably made it as simple as possible, but there are quite a few rules about what kind of legal entity can use their services, confirning identity, etc. Some years ago I attempted to set up an account with them and was unsuccessful. This year I had a consultant helping me on other things, who offered to help with this setup. For him it was instant and smooth, and I didn't have to lift a finger. So, it might be helpful to have someone help you with this part (or maybe they have simply made the process easier in 2023). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
