"Streamlines B2B Marketing with Ease, But Needs Advanced Automation"
What do you like best about ActiveTrail?

I really like how ActiveTrail balances ease of use with effective marketing automation, which is tough to find in many email tools. The workflow builder is straightforward and visual, allowing us to create automated nurture sequences, follow-up funnels, and client onboarding paths without needing technical help or coding. This simplicity is a massive advantage for our small B2B team in Hong Kong. Additionally, I appreciate that the email editor is drag-and-drop and stable, enabling us to build professional, mobile-friendly templates quickly without unexpected formatting issues. This consistency is a real time-saver for crafting client-facing B2B emails. The initial setup was also very straightforward and user-friendly, as we quickly signed up, verified our account, and imported our contact lists from CSV and CRM. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ActiveTrail?

One area we find limiting is the depth of automation and segmentation. For more advanced B2B nurture funnels—like multi‑stage lead scoring or behavior‑based triggers—it’s not as flexible as more enterprise‑grade tools. We sometimes have to simplify our workflows to fit what the platform supports. For automation, it lacks support for multi‑condition, behavior‑based triggers that we need for B2B lead nurturing. For example, we can’t easily set up workflows that react to combinations of actions—like 'if a contact opens two emails but doesn’t click, send a different follow‑up' or 'exclude clients who already purchased a service'. We also need more flexibility for delays based on time zones, which is critical for us reaching clients across Hong Kong and APAC. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Flexible Multi-Channel Marketing Platform"
What do you like best about ActiveTrail?

I find ActiveTrail very effective for marketing automation for businesses of all sizes, with specific features that are valuable. The intuitive campaign builder, especially the drag-and-drop editor, makes it simple to design professional-looking emails and messages without needing coding skills, saving time and avoiding technical frustration. I also like that I can group audiences by behavior, demographics, purchase history, and custom fields. This allows me to tailor messages to very specific groups, boosting relevance and conversions. The contact management and lead scoring features are great because ActiveTrail organizes my contacts and scores leads based on engagement, letting me focus on the most interested customers and nurture them better. Using ActiveTrail alongside other tools helps streamline workflows and reduces manual work, making it easier to make better-informed decisions. The initial setup was surprisingly easy and user-friendly because the platform guided me through importing contacts, connecting channels like email and SMS, and setting up the first campaigns. The drag-and-drop editor and pre-built templates made the learning curve easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ActiveTrail?

Some of the advanced automation features take time to fully understand, especially for new users, so more guided tutorials and in-platform tips would be helpful. Additionally, expanding third-party integrations and offering more flexibility in template design could enhance the platform. Improving these areas would make ActiveTrail even more powerful and user-friendly, I think. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Efficient Automation with Room for Improvement"
What do you like best about ActiveTrail?

I love the Visual Customer Journey Builder in ActiveTrail because it offers no-code power with simplicity and granular control, allowing me to build hyper-targeted, behavior-driven workflows without coding. The timezone- and region-specific trigger timing is incredibly impactful for global teams, adjusting delivery to every subscriber's local timezone with just a click, saving us from creating multiple regional journeys. I also appreciate how the builder handles regional conditional logic, embedding specific content for EU, US, or APAC within the same journey node, which cuts our journey build time for global campaigns by 60–70% and eliminates the risk of inconsistent messaging. The initial setup was surprisingly straightforward, and I'd rate the setup support and resources an 8 out of 10. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ActiveTrail?

Bi-directional data sync is slow (4–24 hours) for enterprise CRMs—critical customer data (e.g., Salesforce lead status, closed-won deals) doesn’t update in ActiveTrail in real time, so journey triggers (e.g., "nurture Salesforce MQLs") are outdated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Modular Customer Contact Management with Powerful Forms and Info Controls"
What do you like best about ActiveTrail?

A modular system for managing customer contact via email/WhatsApp with information management controls and a website that allows you to build dedicated forms Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ActiveTrail?

Automatic fields in integrations sometimes fail. When there is an automatic information field and you use integrations from other systems, the system doesn't know how to handle it well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Multifunctional with quality support, but needs to improve email delivery rate."
What do you like best about ActiveTrail?

I like ActiveTrail's excellent data analysis features, which provide comprehensive real-time reports that can show information such as email opens, link clicks, and user geographic distribution. It also allows data to be exported to Excel or CSV. It supports A/B testing, which can help us find the best marketing strategy. ActiveTrail's customer support is also very high-quality, with multiple channels such as live chat, phone, and support portal, responding quickly and able to solve user problems in a timely manner. The pricing is flexible and affordable, with multiple payment options and different package choices, which is particularly suitable for growing businesses. ActiveTrail's marketing automation features save me time and manpower. With a simple drag-and-drop builder, I can easily create complex automated workflows to achieve precise personalized marketing. The rich template resources enhance the efficiency of our marketing campaign creation, not only significantly shortening the creation time for emails, SMS, and landing pages but also helping us quickly plan and execute multi-channel marketing campaigns. What do you dislike about ActiveTrail?

Delivery rate instability: Occasionally, there may be issues with email delivery, which could result in some marketing information not reaching customers in a timely manner, affecting the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, reducing customer engagement, and lowering the return on marketing investment. Poor quality of email lists: The presence of a large number of invalid, expired, or inactive email addresses in the list can lead to undeliverable emails. Using unverified or purchased email lists can also lead to high complaint rates, damaging the sender's reputation and affecting the delivery rate. Poor domain and IP reputation: If the sending domain or IP address is blacklisted due to poor historical sending behavior or frequent complaints, emails will be difficult to deliver successfully. When sharing an IP address, the poor sending behavior of other users can also affect one's own IP reputation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It displays to me my marketing efforts and effectively i can navigate or switch through my content of emails to make it more effective. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ActiveTrail?

Though I do marketing through social media and emails majorly, i think people who are into more complex layout for marketing needs may find it falling short of some more tools that they might need to make their work easier Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Excellent Multi-channel capabilities"
What do you like best about ActiveTrail?

As an email marketing application, ActiveTrail has a drag-and-drop editor for easy customization of the emails and integrated automation tools that save me a lot of work. Having both the opportunity to market through SMS and WhatsApp as well as using emails I was able to reach the customers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ActiveTrail?

The landing page creation tool in ActiveTrail seems quite limited. In this case, even for more complex landing pages, I still have to use another tool, which can be quite inconvenient at times. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Strong integration with my current CRM application"
What do you like best about ActiveTrail?

As for the specific functionalities, ActiveTrail’s interface is rather user-friendly, thus making it easy to design an e-mail campaign. This means that I can build great looking emails in a short time and the templates are a good starting point. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ActiveTrail?

To my surprise, the landing page builder feels rather crude and is quite limited compared to the other MA tools that I worked with. Some aspects of customization are limited, which is why I can’t create unique, brand-specific landing pages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
