Many desktop versions are available for windows but not so many for Mac. So, It helps one to record transactions related to business on MAc. **What do you dislike about AccountEdge?** Not available for windows. Sofware works only for Mac, and also, it has no version available for Windows, so one needs to stick to mac to keep using it. Also, it is an offline version, so it restricts its usage to other platforms. **What problems is AccountEdge solving and how is that benefiting you?** Although it is accounting software, I have used it for one of the clients to manage the job costing. It helps to budget the job accounting and then gives a detailed analysis of actual costing and comparison. ### 3. It's easy to find the reports that I need in a timely manner as well. **What do you dislike about AccountEdge?** The one bad thing about AccountEdge is having to locate the company file every time I log on - we have our file stored on our server, so AccountEdge makes us locate it every time. Also, we are an all Mac office, so the recent updates with AccountEdge 2020 and the subsequent updates of Mac OSX has been problematic and preventing us from updating our computers. **Recommendations to others considering AccountEdge:** Great product, but if you are a Mac user, beware - the latest updates won't work on the AccountEdge 2020 **What problems is AccountEdge solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am able to track expenses and manage our bank accounts and send checks very quickly without wasting any time. I believe this software makes me much more efficient. ### 4. It was originally called MYOB (Mind Your Own Business). It has grown and improved over the years. Fairly easy to use, although I have been stuck trying to figure out how to do things once in a while (i'm not an accountant). Good tech support if it's needed. They keep up to date on the Fed, State and Local Tax tables well. Bugs are patched quickly and they roll out updates in a timely manner. Constantly adding new features with each major release. We have a 3 seat license, and the main data file is located on a central server, This allows Purchasing, Payroll and Engineering to work at the same time. **What do you dislike about AccountEdge?** Requires a very reasonable (under $500 for 3 seats) annual subscription to maintain updates and tax tables for payroll. That's how they make their money. **Recommendations to others considering AccountEdge:** Good product. Does what we need it to do. I would recommend it for a small to medium size business. **What problems is AccountEdge solving and how is that benefiting you?** Purchasing, Invoicing, Payroll, Some inventory ### 5. (Remember those days?). Over the years it has grown into a far more sophisticated program than I really need, covering payroll, inventory, invoicing, mobile transactions and merchant services. **What do you dislike about AccountEdge?** The thing that I dislike the most about Account Edge is that fact that they do not yet offer an online version that can sync automatically with banks and vendors. That is definitely the next level for this program. **Recommendations to others considering AccountEdge:** If you use this program, consider buying your checks and forms from them. It makes it dead simple to print. **What problems is AccountEdge solving and how is that benefiting you?** I like being able to customize reports and print W-2's, W-3's, 1099's and 1096. The tax table updates on the payroll plan have been dead simple to maintain. The company is also quite responsive to customer service inquiries. ### 8. You can assign job numbers to projects and then when an invoice comes in you can easily code it to that job so that when you go to invoice your client you can see what expenses were made against the job, add whatever mark-up you like and bill it. Also makes reconciling my bank statements a breeze. Very intuitive interface. **What do you dislike about AccountEdge?** I wish there was a way to separate personal from business (I currently use Quicken for my personal accounts). It would be nice to have an option to open a personal account within the same software program (maybe you can and I just haven't figured it out yet :-) **What problems is AccountEdge solving and how is that benefiting you?** I have no need to hire a bookkeeper since this program makes bookkeeping very streamlined and easy. ### 10. Now there are others and probably worth comparing. **What problems is AccountEdge solving and how is that benefiting you?** Able to keep our checking account balanced.
