You can have multiple users use the company file at once. We shut down the program and restarted it. The emails seem to work after that. **What problems is AccountEdge solving and how is that benefiting you?** It keeps our accounting clean; it does our payroll, and we can order raw materials and use the program for sales too. It is an all-in-one piece of software that has helped us for over ten years. ### 6. Performance isn't great and reports take a long time to generate. NOT ANY MORE. **What do you dislike about AccountEdge?** HORRIBLE customer service. I have been a customer since 2009. I had the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE CALL IN MY LIFE TODAY. I'm absolutely dumbfounded at how our call went. I called to discuss my options to upgrade. I'm a Mac user and wanted to know my options. She told me about the subscription service, which I already knew. I'm willing to try it, even though it looks like a very dated version of Windows on my Mac. Someone last year sent me a link to try it. I didn't have time to fuss with it because at the time I ended up having Covid and was sick, so it expired. I asked her to reinstate the trial. She can't do that. I asked her to speak with a manager. She can't do that. I literally cannot use your product now unless I purchase it immediately and start the subscription. After 13 years of being an AccountEdge (formerly MYOB), you're going to lose me, and when I told her this, she acted like she couldn't care less. HORRIBLE. **Recommendations to others considering AccountEdge:** Look elsewhere. Again, I used to be a huge advocate of their company. I gladly paid the $199/year telephone support and always had EXCELLENT support. But that sure changed. Looks like I'm going to start looking for a new accounting system. **What problems is AccountEdge solving and how is that benefiting you?** The thought of moving to a new accounting system is overwhelming, considering I've had nearly 13 years using AccountEdge (former MYOB). I was with them since 2009. I called today to speak with someone about upgrading and because I had a trial last year and wasn't able to work with it, they can't give me another trial. I cannot believe I'm dealing with the same company I did a few years ago. ### 8. Many desktop versions are available for windows but not so many for Mac. So, It helps one to record transactions related to business on MAc. **What do you dislike about AccountEdge?** Not available for windows. Sofware works only for Mac, and also, it has no version available for Windows, so one needs to stick to mac to keep using it. Also, it is an offline version, so it restricts its usage to other platforms. **What problems is AccountEdge solving and how is that benefiting you?** Although it is accounting software, I have used it for one of the clients to manage the job costing. It helps to budget the job accounting and then gives a detailed analysis of actual costing and comparison. ### 9. They didn't seem to have a viable competitor for a cloud-based solution. **Recommendations to others considering AccountEdge:** I would recommend comporting it all the other competitors especially if you are a Mac-based business. **What problems is AccountEdge solving and how is that benefiting you?** AccountEdge Pro helped me get started in business and was a simple, locally-installed software. for us. It's easy to find the reports that I need in a timely manner as well. **What do you dislike about AccountEdge?** The one bad thing about AccountEdge is having to locate the company file every time I log on - we have our file stored on our server, so AccountEdge makes us locate it every time. Also, we are an all Mac office, so the recent updates with AccountEdge 2020 and the subsequent updates of Mac OSX has been problematic and preventing us from updating our computers. **Recommendations to others considering AccountEdge:** Great product, but if you are a Mac user, beware - the latest updates won't work on the AccountEdge 2020 **What problems is AccountEdge solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am able to track expenses and manage our bank accounts and send checks very quickly without wasting any time. It was originally called MYOB (Mind Your Own Business). It has grown and improved over the years. Fairly easy to use, although I have been stuck trying to figure out how to do things once in a while (i'm not an accountant). Good tech support if it's needed. They keep up to date on the Fed, State and Local Tax tables well. Bugs are patched quickly and they roll out updates in a timely manner. Constantly adding new features with each major release. We have a 3 seat license, and the main data file is located on a central server, This allows Purchasing, Payroll and Engineering to work at the same time. **What do you dislike about AccountEdge?** Requires a very reasonable (under $500 for 3 seats) annual subscription to maintain updates and tax tables for payroll. That's how they make their money. **Recommendations to others considering AccountEdge:** Good product. Does what we need it to do. We are able to use this in conjunction with Lightspeed, which is our main program for inventory, invoices, and statements. I also like that sometimes it just kind of knows if you're entering something in the wrong place and will pop up with a notice that says something like, " If you're doing XYZ, you may want to use such-and-such tab instead." **What do you dislike about AccountEdge?** When you are searching for something, such as an invoice, if you accidentally hit "Enter" since that is how most search windows work, the AccountEdge window just closes out. You have to hit tab instead, which doesn't make sense and is a little irritating since every other search bar, search engine, etc. accepts "Enter," so it's a habit. **Recommendations to others considering AccountEdge:** I'm only putting "n/a" on the pricing because I'm not the one who buys it, so I'm not sure of the price or how it compares to other programs. **What problems is AccountEdge solving and how is that benefiting you?** The main functions are so easy to use that, when I first started working here, my boss was on vacation and was able to tell me over the phone what to do to keep business moving while she was away. Also, with AccountEdge, we are able to quickly print reports needed for our accountant. ### 17. I work with 4 different companies and each one uses AccountEdge Pro. It is extremely user friendly and easy to navigate. It is hard to pic a favorite option on this software but overall i would say that the invoicing process is SO EASY. I can create an invoice, enter a new customer right from that screen if needed and send it within minutes of starting the process. **What do you dislike about AccountEdge?** Honestly, the one thing I strongly disliked about AccountEdge, they fixed in the last software update. It used to be if you accidentally clicked the X out button you had to shut the program down completely. Now, after the update, if you click X it asks if you are certain you want to leave. That way, you can click NO and continue what you were doing instead of starting over. Great fix! **Recommendations to others considering AccountEdge:** I HIGHLY recommend AccountEdge Pro. As i stated earlier, the ease of use vs Quickbooks is incredible. I think all businesses would give AccountEdge a try, i doubt most people would go back to Quickbooks after making the switch. **What problems is AccountEdge solving and how is that benefiting you?** We do everything in AccountEdge. It is our little one stop software for accounting purposes. We create invoices, send them, write checks, easily create reports and even manage our website inventory right from this program. There are endless benefits. I found that Quickbooks was limited and even a bit confusing. Especially to someone who is new to accounting. With AccountEdge, you can easily learn all aspects of the software and without issue. They do updates frequently and are always making improvements. This program even makes tax season/1099 a breeze! ### 18. Often one must have to undo several steps to make a change. This is done as a protection, bt after using quickbooks for a non-profit, I realized how cumbersome this is. It is not easy to do several search things, nor is it easy to email directly within the software. You can't delete customers no longer in business--only make the cards inactive. **Recommendations to others considering AccountEdge:** At the time I started, this was the best accounting software for MACS. If I were doing it again today, I'd go with quickbooks. **What problems is AccountEdge solving and how is that benefiting you?** Helps track income and purchases and historic sales with customers. ### 19. (Remember those days?). Over the years it has grown into a far more sophisticated program than I really need, covering payroll, inventory, invoicing, mobile transactions and merchant services. **What do you dislike about AccountEdge?** The thing that I dislike the most about Account Edge is that fact that they do not yet offer an online version that can sync automatically with banks and vendors. That is definitely the next level for this program. **Recommendations to others considering AccountEdge:** If you use this program, consider buying your checks and forms from them. It makes it dead simple to print. **What problems is AccountEdge solving and how is that benefiting you?** I like being able to customize reports and print W-2's, W-3's, 1099's and 1096. The tax table updates on the payroll plan have been dead simple to maintain. The company is also quite responsive to customer service inquiries. ### 20. You can assign job numbers to projects and then when an invoice comes in you can easily code it to that job so that when you go to invoice your client you can see what expenses were made against the job, add whatever mark-up you like and bill it. Also makes reconciling my bank statements a breeze. Very intuitive interface. **What do you dislike about AccountEdge?** I wish there was a way to separate personal from business (I currently use Quicken for my personal accounts). It would be nice to have an option to open a personal account within the same software program (maybe you can and I just haven't figured it out yet :-) **What problems is AccountEdge solving and how is that benefiting you?** I have no need to hire a bookkeeper since this program makes bookkeeping very streamlined and easy. ### 24.
