AccountEdge lacks native support for German VAT rules under UStG and GoBD-compliant immutable audit trails. It cannot generate transaction data formatted for DATEV exports, forcing us to manually re-format each dataset. Local-tax-specific invoice fields are missing, so we constantly apply manual corrections, adding considerable overhead and creating potential human-error risks for our client tax filings. The system's focus on US accounting standards requires extensive manual adjustments to meet German compliance obligations, significantly extending our implementation timeline and creating ongoing administrative burden. It is easy to learn; it has everything you need to run a small - large company. You can have multiple users use the company file at once. The support team has always been great too. If you are using a modern Mac, Account Edge runs in a Windows emulator window that looks like Windows 95. Performance isn't great and reports take a long time to generate. I have been a customer since 2009. I had the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE CALL IN MY LIFE TODAY. I'm absolutely dumbfounded at how our call went. I called to discuss my options to upgrade. I'm a Mac user and wanted to know my options. She told me about the subscription service, which I already knew. I'm willing to try it, even though it looks like a very dated version of Windows on my Mac. Someone last year sent me a link to try it. I didn't have time to fuss with it because at the time I ended up having Covid and was sick, so it expired. I asked her to reinstate the trial. She can't do that. I asked her to speak with a manager. She can't do that. I literally cannot use your product now unless I purchase it immediately and start the subscription. After 13 years of being an AccountEdge (formerly MYOB), you're going to lose me, and when I told her this, she acted like she couldn't care less. HORRIBLE. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Recommendations to others considering AccountEdge: Look elsewhere. Again, I used to be a huge advocate of their company. I gladly paid the $199/year telephone support and always had EXCELLENT support. But that sure changed. Looks like I'm going to start looking for a new accounting system. The thought of moving to a new accounting system is overwhelming, considering I've had nearly 13 years using AccountEdge (former MYOB). I was with them since 2009. I called today to speak with someone about upgrading and because I had a trial last year and wasn't able to work with it, they can't give me another trial.
