Glofox not only has a really easy-to-use interface for myself and my clients (the app makes this particularly attractive), it is inherently designed to bring in ongoing revenue for customers. We used to be with MindBody and I can confidently say the move has more than halved administration time.
We still use credit packs (we operate out of various locations instead of 1 x central studio), so offering subscriptions hasn't traditionally been a part of our model. However, the way the system is designed i.e. the reports favor memberships, the recurring bookings feature favors subscriptions etc – the credit packs are still very really easy for clients to use and us to manage.
It's been very customisable, I like that I've been able to change the specific words on my backend and app (i.e. facility has become 'location', 'staff' has become 'instructors').
The onboarding process was made very easy, and I've had Glofox business strategists reach out to me to provide unique, customised advice to drive profits – completely free of charge. The support team is reasonably responsive and overall, Glofox is a fantastic product for me.
For further context for business owners looking for a beskpoke solution (as we were). We run dance-fitness classes where each 'class' is at a different location. Each 'class', while different and a surprise, is still the same 'type' i.e. it's not "HiiT-style, Barre, Stretch' etc – so to create distinction we decided to call the class names by the location. It's easy to set up a recurring class – but when/if you need to make changes, you'll need to do this manually for each individual class via the 'calendar' because any edits made at that higher level will apply to ALL classes, rewriting any past individual changes you'd made.
The Glofox Staff Pro app is really useful too.
Overall, I would highly recommend Glofox to any business owners and I think it's a fantastic fit for teams in the fitness industry – for anyone where recurring subscriptions to match recurring classes is a key operation.

There are a few things / mostly lacking features or things that I've had to work around because of my business – everyones' is unique so it's hard to nail everything! However, these are my main and ongoing frustrations (Disclaimer: I'm pretty sure Glofox is still the absolute best product out there for our needs):
- The ability for clients to make recurring bookings for the same class – whether they have a credit pack or subscription
– The ability for clients to 'drop-in' casually to courses
– Would love instructors to have more control over the Glofox Staff Pro App.
– It's very frustrating that if you need to add a new class, anyone and everyone on an existing credit pack will not be able to book for that new class (if they purchased a credit pack before the day you added the new class – anyone after, provided your credit pack settings are correct, will be able to book successfully). You have to update the credit pack settings manually for every customer with an existing credit pack, AND there is no report to figure out whose credit packs need to be updated. The result is that customers message saying "hi, i can't book for the class " or "I was just charged $20 when I booked for the class" because they're expecting they would have been able to use a credit but its not automatically valid for new classes. It would be great to be able to make a blanket rule apply from the backend for when you add new classes. This inherently doesn't support the idea of growth/adding new classes so its a strange one to me.
- Glitching – I don't know what it is, but even though I use Chrome and refresh my browser/cache, sometimes Glofox will display a completely incorrect and random time slot, or instructor, or location which is always incredibly concerning for me when it does happen
- Glofox Insights and Reports don't feel particularly useful unless you prioritise having members/subscriptions
- There are some searches I'd love to be able to do in order to send SMS promotions i.e. Find people who've attended x number of times over a certain period (so I can reward them)
- Would love the ability to offer discounts through the system
– Would love an integrated referral scheme
– I would love to have more control over the colours of my email. My website is black, so I've made my widgets black. This however means that my emails are also black which just looks awful and there's no workaround, unless I change my entire website, which is not a solution. I would love more control over the colours of the app/widgets/emails etc.
– Being able to send an email or text to every individual in a class directly from the system (so with one or two clicks – at the moment, I have to manually type in email addresses if I need to contact clients about a change on the schedule or a change to their upcoming class).
– Sometimes I feel like the customer service/support reps could be more specific with the emails they send – often it feels like their responses lengthen out the time it should take to resolve an issue or keep me hanging which I find frustrating – usually, any support queries I send tend to be urgent! Personally, good customer service to me resolves an issue within the first if not second email – I find that they continue to ask me questions when they could look into the issue themselves and come to me with a resolution a lot faster. - We have recently launched recurring bookings features for classes and PT appointments.
- Casual Drop-in's for Courses are not yet available, but are on our roadmap for 2023.
- It appears that needing to update every single credit pack to be eligible for a new class can be resolved by adjusting your setup. The categories function in your class and credit pack settings need to be edited to make any new class eligible for members who currently have a credit pack. - With the filters in your "Clients" section, you would be able to filter by clients who have attended more than "x" classes and send an SMS directly to that cohort of members. Again, a member of the team will reach out to help.
- Discount codes are now available to be used by staff and members.
- We integrate with some great third-party referral platforms. We'll send you some information about our partners.
