**What do you like best about PeopleGrove?**

It is user friendly for the staff building pages and from the alumni and students.  They have been responsive and helped us customize the SSO for students alumni and faculty staff.  It is allowing a lot of alumni to identify as potential volunteers and to flash mentor students

**What do you dislike about PeopleGrove?**

There is no way to get the data out of people grove in a manner that allows you to update your crm.  The user update reports shows both what is updated by the alumni and what we have updated through the import tool and there is no way to distinguish these to set up imports into our crm - RENXT

**What problems is PeopleGrove solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are identifying potential volunteers which is great as long as you have staff to manage this - which we do not.  Therefore alumni are raising their hands and we are ignoring them,  This is our internal issue not Peoplegrove's issue.

**What do you like best about PeopleGrove?**

Our partnership with PeopleGrove allowed us to launch a full university online community within months, and has grown with us over the last three years. We are easily able to modify and update registration questions, build new affinity groups, and message out to constituencies. Over our time with them, PeopleGrove has also built in new features that better respond to the networking needs of our students, alumni, and campus community, and continues to evolve along with online community building.

**What do you dislike about PeopleGrove?**

Alumni relations is an area of university affairs that relies on customization, consistent messaging, and personalization. Getting this right in a rapid software environment can be challenging. They focus deeply on the mentee experience, and more recently on the mentor, but could still grown in that area.

**Recommendations to others considering PeopleGrove:**

When implementing, definitely look just as much at your internal processes and ownership as you do the software benefits. If your house is in disarray, a software isn't going to fix it, just reflect it!

**What problems is PeopleGrove solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had no previous way for our students to connect with alumni from across the university. This product allowed us to break down silos between schools and departments, and truly open up our full community for engagement. Our adoption rate has been high, and we're now working on engagement depth.

**What do you like best about PeopleGrove?**

This platform allowed us to build a alumni and student network. The flash mentorship features give easy access to messaging tools and the filters are user friendly.  The new insights tool makes reports and data anayltics easy to collect and view.

**What do you dislike about PeopleGrove?**

In a tight budget year, I do have to justify the costs to my senior leadership. However, I do feel the platform features, amazing tech support and provided training and community features give this great bang for the buck. Its an investment, well worth the networking and community it builds.

**Recommendations to others considering PeopleGrove:**

Use the community feature to learn from other universities/colleges who have implemented it. I learned a great deal from the advice shared by others, posted to discussion boards to share ideas, and provided feedback to new users from my own experiences. This is a great place to benchmark and learn best practices.

**What problems is PeopleGrove solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One significant problem Peoplegrove solved was increasing the response rate when contacted. Because users knew the expectations and functions of the platform before joining, we found they were more likely to be responsive and helpful when someone messaged them on the platform. The benefits included more students had access to mentors to help not only with a job or internship search, but also to explore career options. It was very helpful to build a community that could answer questions and provide advice on a wide variety of career paths.

**What do you like best about PeopleGrove?**

I appreciate the attractive features to query/search, the smooth LinkedIn integration so as not to require a new profile build, and the strong analytics at your fingertips in the admin. I've also been grateful for the new steps they've taken to improve knowledge base for admins/superusers.

**What do you dislike about PeopleGrove?**

Sometimes clunky for users to understand all the features available for searching; no mobile app; wish there were more suggestions for users to engage in groups or discussions.

**What problems is PeopleGrove solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has great potential for connecting alumni and students in organic ways, with more nuanced connection points than are available on any other platform. We have discovered that it makes it easier to find folks willing to help students and fellow alumni! We also have been able to communicate through the software to recruit volunteers and manage our mentoring program.

**What do you like best about PeopleGrove?**

Peoplegrove provides excellent customer service and products. Employees and management are constantly receiving feedback to better understand customer needs and wants to better enhance and improve their product quality and services. PeopleGrove deeply cares about its relationship with its customers and wishes to see everyone strive and collaborate to create and implement successful mentorship.

**What do you dislike about PeopleGrove?**

The only thing I did not like is quite small is the lack of training for new administrators to learn the steps, processes, and understanding of the implementation tools and resources.

**Recommendations to others considering PeopleGrove:**

Understand that time commitment to the program will determine the success of your platform.

**What problems is PeopleGrove solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are solving the issues of lack of school spirit, community, and mentorship within our community. Networking and mentorship is crucial to the success of students and important to building revolutionizing relationships

**What do you like best about PeopleGrove?**

Peoplegrove has connected us with more alumni across the country than we ever thought imaginable!   Our alumni love connecting with our students and vice versa.  Our hope is that this process will just keep becoming a new tradition of networking and engaging our past with our future.

**What do you dislike about PeopleGrove?**

There is nothing I dislike about Peoplegrove.  They are customer service driven and address any concerns immediately with a positive outcome!

**Recommendations to others considering PeopleGrove:**

I would tell anyone who is looking for this type of service that Peoplegrove is the best product you could consider, because they have the best customer service.

We are bridging the gap between our students and alumni for a future that is becoming technology driven.  We love the data analysis that is generated so we can continue to measure our successes.

**What do you like best about PeopleGrove?**

As mentioned above, my favorite part about our partnership is the collaboration with the PG staff.

On the platform, I love being able to see instant stats on my dashboard when I log in and I LOVE how easy the Bulk Email function is.  You can create and set up multiple email templates and drafts and schedule them to go out weeks in advance, freeing up time for other things.

**What do you dislike about PeopleGrove?**

As an art & design school, we wish we had more control over the design and look of our platform.  With that being said, setting up our platform was super easy and fast.  

Our implementation process took much longer than expected, and at times I felt frustrated with PG's push to make it happen.  In higher ed, things can take much, much longer than planned, and the delay on our end was due to other departments not completing their tasks.  I was, unfortunately, stuck in the middle, having to push those who are in higher positions to do their job and trying to explain to PG what was going on.  At times throughout implementation, I felt a lot of pressure from PG to move forward when I was already trying to do everything I could to move us forward.  This was frustrating.

I understand that PG puts an implementation timeline in place for our benefit but also for theirs, and our inability to move forward at their speed meant that one of their employees had to spend more time on us than planned.  I appreciated the patience of my implementation manager, but I could also sense her frustration, which I shared.

**What problems is PeopleGrove solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problem that PeopleGrove helped us solve in regard to our alumni is the Alumni Directory.  Our office would field requests from alums looking for their classmates, and it became a process trying to connect them while adhering to FERPA guidelines.  The Directory has drastically reduced the amount of calls/emails in our office fields.

**What do you like best about PeopleGrove?**

PeopleGrove Alumni Success is a robust product, offering a variety of opportunities for alumni community members to network and engage (e.g., Groups, Discussion Boards, Live Chat, etc.). The data import process is particularly impressive as is the reporting tool within Explore Users. Within Alumni Success, administrators may merge accounts, add information to existing records, and delete accounts with ease.

**What do you dislike about PeopleGrove?**

At times, the Bulk Email client is slow when processing requests for emails to 25,000+.

**Recommendations to others considering PeopleGrove:**

Reach out to the PeopleGrove team with any questions or ideas that service during the research process. Ask to demo an account or test the experience. Seek guidance from colleagues and ask them to share testimonials.

**What problems is PeopleGrove solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With PeopleGrove Alumni Success, our university is building an expansive alumni directory with tools and timely resources to best serve our constituency. We increase the connection opportunities (and response times between communications) with graduates and offer multi-modal resources (videos, PDFs, etc. via the Resource Library) for users. By utilizing PeopleGrove, our university has streamlined its service providers and consolidated vendors to decrease expenses. PeopleGrove provides email capabilities, resource hosting, and chat functionality, removing the need to contract additional third-party suppliers for these separate needs.

**What do you like best about PeopleGrove?**

The most helpful thing about our Peoplegrove platform is the ease in which our constituents can connect with one another. Through this platform, we went from having to broker all student-alumni connections to giving our students  the tool they need to make those connections themselves--on their schedule. And when we do still become involved in connecting them to one another, we can do so with certainty that our constituents on the platform will be responsive -- because it's a large part of why they joined! It's also provided a way in which our alumni can connect more organically with one another. 

I also like the back-end admin view which Peoplegrove has improved and continues to improve to make it ever-easier to view pending approval items, message and connection response rate, and community balance.  The ability to easily "nudge" non-responders has increased the response rate. 

Additionally, Peoplegrove is continually innovating, building new features, and working to ensure the platform is as user friendly and dynamic as possible, while also focus on key areas of success for universities in enrollment management, retention, mentorships, and student success.

**What do you dislike about PeopleGrove?**

I have not found a single downside to this platform! The company is constantly innovating, improving, and ensure that it remains dynamic, attractive and easy to use.

**Recommendations to others considering PeopleGrove:**

When I did my research Peoplegrove was the best, most customizable, responsive, and innovative product. I believe it still is! The team is customer service oriented and always looking to improve both their clients' experience and their clients' end-users' experience.

**What problems is PeopleGrove solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed to provide an easier way to connect alumni with alumni and students with alumni. Peoplegrove's platform does that for us. We've heard from numerous success stories from our students from their connecting with mentors within the platform.

Our students have found supportive mentorships through the platform, interships and jobs. It has made it easier to engage alumni (because it's on their time) and it's made it easier on the career services team, because they have an additional resources to which to direct students.

PeopleGrove was able to help SJSU develop it's online mentoring platform SJSU² Mentoring & Meetups which has helped the university ensure that students are able to achieve career readiness and success through alumni connections. As PeopleGrove develops its product and services, it would help to continue engaging university partners in the development process . As PeopleGrove innovates, continuous communication and consultation about changes with partners would be helpful as there are some earlier features of the platform that are helpful to keep. Overall, the PeopleGrove team listens to feedback and works with their university partners to make sure that goals are achieved.

**What do you dislike about PeopleGrove?**

As PeopleGrove develops its product and services, it would help to continue engaging university partners in the development process . As PeopleGrove innovates, continuous communication and consultation about changes with partners would be helpful as there are some earlier features of the platform that are helpful to keep.

Ease of use and also the availability of a community of other PG clients for advice and best practices.

**What do you dislike about PeopleGrove?**

PG doesn’t bake in lots of hand-holding. Clients are expected to learn the ropes mostly on their own or through training videos. Configuration is also largely done by the client rather than by PG.

**What problems is PeopleGrove solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The PG has helped Yale alums connect with each other and with Yale students for networking, advice, and mentoring. The PG platform far outperforms any previous Yale platform intended for the same or similar purposes. IN just 80 days, more than 11,000 Yalies joined our platform. We’re thrilled.

**What do you like best about PeopleGrove?**

The key parts of why PeopleGrove is successful is that it is comprehensive. It is an Alumni Directory. It is a job search board. It is a networking tool. It can do mentoring matching. This has helped me eliminate having to use multiple systems and provide our alumni with a better, coordinated, integrated system.

The customer service at PeopleGrove is fantastic. People get back to you within seconds, they really listen to your concerns and aggressively build/change/alter things to meet your needs.

**What do you dislike about PeopleGrove?**

Not unique to PeopleGrove but it is always slow to get people to register for a new system and get into the habit of using it. We found the registration process a bit extensive but after working with PeopleGrove they have helped us streamline it.

**Recommendations to others considering PeopleGrove:**

Make sure you develop a plan for all generations - we found retired alumni were eager for the directory feature but did not want to be involved in anything else. So we had to do lots of segmentation.

**What problems is PeopleGrove solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We long had alumni ask for an online alumni directory. We did lots of networking and mentoring through a variety of ad hoc systems. This has helped us streamline and professionalize our offerings as well as add new options.

**What do you like best about PeopleGrove?**

PeopleGrove is an amazing platform. It allows users to connect and network, to review resources, to follow learning paths to gain skills/knowledge, and to apply to jobs or attend events. It's a place where students and alumni can come together to tap into their greatest resource- each other. The PG team is always hosting workshops, webinars, trainings, and meet-ups (in-person and virtually) so their customers can learn, grow, and develop their platform with one another!

Pulling data can be challenging at times.

I appreciate PeopleGrove's innovation and collaborative mindset where we are encouraged to submit ideas to enhance the utility of the platform, and PeopleGrove acts on many of our ideas.

**What do you dislike about PeopleGrove?**

The job board is proving timely to manage as it is a process to identify, communicate with and invite recruiters and hiring managers to join IrishCompass and post their opportunities to the job board.

Our partnership with PeopleGrove allowed us to create an interactive, modern, Notre Dame-branded way for students and alumni to network and engage for career and professional development different than the traditional alumni directory.

Id like to see deeper analytics when it comes to email/outbound communications.

Especially in this unstable economy and unrest in the country -- we have seen alums start to use the platform to connect with each other, share opportunities and help
