I love the community-driven, open-source aspect of CentOS. Being fairly new to Linux, I was able to find answers to all of my questions by utilizing community efforts and ultimately was able to create a file/email server from ground-up off of a bare-bones...
Support hasn't been great - while it is affiliated with RHEL it has always been underserved by the OpenSource community.
Community model validated over years, it's here to stay
The change can also seem tough. Only the points of attention are the wear and tear on interoperability with proprietary software programs, generally those through the non-standard Microsoft Windows community configuration, such as proprietary report codecs...
