We seem to run into clutter with all of the files. How can they be streamlined and de cluttered?

How can I make it easier to use

I was wondering this because It could be helpful to keep people from looking at your stuff when your away from you computer or someone hacked into it.

We find it hard to utilize google hangout and edit. There are usually some glitches.

I've shared many documents with other people. Is there a way to turn on desktop notifications whenever something is shared with me, or they edit anything I've already shared? Or if they upload more files to folders we share? Thank you!
