I’m not able to download the report when it’s only partially completed. I’d like to be able to download a copy ahead of the start date even if not every check has finished by then, and then let the remaining checks complete in the background. I find the system incredibly easy to use and straightforward to navigate. It efficiently provides all the key information required to meet our compliance and employment standards across the business. On occasion, references are verified through HMRC employment records instead of obtaining a direct reference. Providing an explanation for why this approach has been used would improve transparency and understanding of the outcome. Queries can sometimes take longer than expected to receive a response. The support team is consistently responsive and helpful, even with more complex or unusual cases. Whether it's clarifying mismatches, suggesting alternative documentation when a standard reference isn't possible or being sensitive to confidentiality concerns around current employers. The platform itself is straightforward to use both for us as recruiters and for candidates and it takes a lot of manual back-and-forth off our plate compared to running checks ourselves. The main downside is the volume of manual follow-up it can generate on our side. Minor discrepancies like small differences in job titles or dates get flagged and sometimes require us to reach out and clarify, even when they're not substantive issues. I like how Zinc makes reference and background checking super efficient, ensuring all the necessary checks are done without us having to chase anything down. It's great that Zinc updates me throughout the process and flags any issues early, which is super helpful. I really like that it's integrated with our ATS, because it makes everything quick and easy. The requests dashboard is awesome for keeping track of where checks are up to, and I find the insights & analytics tool helpful for breaking down our data, like the average turnaround time. It's an intuitive and easy platform, the support is also great and very quick compared to other providers. The answers are always reliable and trustworthy especially when dealing with different countries. I also like the latest tool about reporting, it makes our life in administrator much much easier! The support is generally very good, from Account Manager through to support team on live chat. I'm also appreciative that all my feedback is genuinely considered and the Zinc team will always make every attempt at implementing solutions based on my feedback. There are times where small inefficiencies can compound to create pretty big delays. For example, having certain candidate criminal checks gated due to extra information needing to be manually confirmed via email, or having referee responses bouncing between no reply inboxes or where referees provide responses to the support team's inbox in the form of pdf or email message instead of submitting directly on the platform (in these cases, the reference tends to be lost or there is a delay in retrievalfrom the inbox and subsequent upload to the candidate's report) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The candidate experience is excellent. It has made my role – and my colleagues’ day-to-day work – much easier and more efficient. One-Click Requests: Users love that they can initiate complex background checks—including criminal history, right-to-work, and financial checks—with a single click directly from their ATS (Applicant Tracking System).

The Issue: In countries with less digitized government records (unlike the UK’s HMRC integration), the "instant" feeling of Zinc disappears.

The Result: Users sometimes dislike the discrepancy between a 2-minute UK check and a 10-day international check. I appreciate how fast and efficient Zinc is, which significantly reduces the manual work I need to do, making my tasks seamless and hassle-free. The speed and efficiency of Zinc allow me to get more done in less time, which is crucial in my work.
