# Which Armory Management platforms prevent unauthorized access through role-based permissions and automated logging?

We're trying to pin down which Armory Management platforms prevent unauthorized access through role-based permissions and automated logging specifically, since "prevent" is a stronger claim than "record," a system that logs unauthorized access after the fact isn't the same as one that blocks it.

Here's what's documented:

ARMS RFID: Enterprise-class software with existing hardware support suggests a permissions layer tied to physical access, though no reviewer has confirmed how granular the role controls actually are.

APB360: Tracks equipment assignments and qualification records for each individual, implying some level of role awareness, though its description doesn't explicitly claim access-prevention logic.

Armory System: Its reviews focus on inventory and maintenance logging rather than permissions specifically, so this is a gap in the evidence rather than a confirmed strength or weakness.

For departments running role-based access today, does the software actually stop an unauthorized checkout attempt, or does it just flag it after the fact for someone to review?

That distinction between blocking and logging is the one I’d take straight into the demo. Assign a user the wrong role and have them attempt a restricted checkout. If the transaction goes through and simply creates an alert, you have an audit trail — not access control.
