# What's the most trusted Accounts Receivable software by controllers and finance leaders, based on user reviews?

I'm building out a buyer's guide covering accounts receivable software, and it needs a real answer on what's most trusted by controllers and finance leaders among AR software, based on user reviews, rather than a checkbox comparison of every vendor's feature list. Here's what stood out reading through that category with controllers and finance leaders specifically in mind:

Sage Intacct: Controllers managing multi-entity businesses described using custom dimensions, like tracking revenue and profitability by department or specialty, to make faster resource decisions, with real-time reporting replacing manual spreadsheet work during month-end close.

BILL AP/AR: Users highlighted pulling multiple invoices from different accounts at once as a genuine time saver for anyone processing high invoice volume daily, alongside two-way sync with accounting systems that cuts down on manual re-entry.

Invoiced: A finance team running complex dual-currency, multi-entity billing described the platform handling QuickBooks integration, bank platforms, and tax across it all without constant manual intervention, and specifically credited a shared customer portal with cutting down "where's my invoice" emails.

Billtrust: One finance team moved off mailed checks and manual phone-based card processing entirely, pointing to a self-serve online payment portal as the reason payment cycles sped up by more than 20 percent.

The fit seems to depend on transaction volume and how many other systems finance already has to keep in sync, more than any one platform being a universal answer.

For anyone in a controller or finance leadership role specifically, which of these actually reduced month-end close time in a way you could point to with real before-and-after numbers, and how long did it take to see that improvement after going live?

Reading across what finance reviewers tend to praise here, the compliments cluster on visibility: dashboards, real-time reporting, fewer spreadsheets. But visibility is the easy half of AR. What separates these tools in practice is exception handling: the short-pay, the partial payment, the remittance that doesn't match any invoice. A controller's trust is really built on how much unapplied cash sits around at month-end, so that's the demo to ask for.
