Being able to set up queries that you can then connect to Informz and create target mailing groups from is such a timesaver and works very smoothly

**What do you like best about YourMembership?**

I don't have a single good thing to say about YM. Everything about the backend system is antiquated, overcomplicated, and difficult. We were sold something that simply does not exist.

**What do you dislike about YourMembership?**

I've never given a negative review before but if a few minutes can save other organizations the headache, I hope this will do that. The onboarding process was insanely disorganized, our implementation specialists (we worked with two) either did not have an update for what they were working on, or they flat out lied to us about what was possible or not. We could never trust their answers on anything because we were constantly being lied to. 

My experience with support so far is dismal, I've waited weeks for tickets to even be acknowledged with no resolution in sight.

The backend experience is jumbled and outdated. It's built like it was intended for someone who has not been on a computer since 2007 and it has no intuitive features. For example, if you were to want to upload an image to a page, you can't do that, you have to go to a completely separate page to upload something, sort it properly, and then copy a link, go back, select upload and paste your image link in. Everything takes so much longer than it should for no reason at all. 

In addition, YM has their own names for features and things that are widely known in the industry as something else. For example, merge fields are called macros and if you ask about merge fields, they will pretend they are not sure what you're talking about until you will say the name of what they call it. Their image upload is called the resource manager but if you don't say that proper term, they will act like they don't understand.

**What problems is YourMembership solving and how is that benefiting you?**

So far I have not found a benefit to using YM. It makes everything more complicated, more cumbersome, and more manual work than I ever imagined possible. I hope this review can save you from making the same mistake we did. Please save yourself and your organization the headaches and the hassles.

It is a clunky platform that is very outdated and slow. We are switching to another platform because of this.

It is user-friendly.  Great for a stater company.  The company is growing.

**What do you dislike about YourMembership?**

It wasn't report-friendly.  Payment for events and merchandise had to be paid separately.   Everything didn't go on one invoice.

This is a great company for a start-up.

**What do you like best about YourMembership?**

What we like about YourMembership is that it does so many things well. The biggest pieces of our IT needs are our membership database, our three annual meetings (conferences), and our website. It's very user-friendly—we were able to launch our YM site on our own, as a small administrative staff. We have about 10,000 members, quite a few types members, and various different dues categories within each member type. YM allows us to manage all of this handily. Our website has hundreds of pages, some of which are limited to members only, others not, as well as countless documents linked and hosted our website. YM lets us manage that efficiently as well. We have about 4,000 registrants across our three meetings each year, and we manage registration and sales through YM. Data management is also straightforward on YM. You can upload data, including new records and updates to existing records. YM also offers a number of reporting options, including building complex queries and reports, as well as doing various searches. Also critically important, YM has excellent customer service.  They always respond quickly and work hard to resolve any issues.

**What do you dislike about YourMembership?**

There are limits to an AMS approach to IT, and some of this is related to that fact. We've been with YM for about seven years, and some things have not really changed, requiring us to use additional IT services to meet our needs. The forum functionality is extremely limited, so we've needed to use a third party solution. The store functionality is minimal and hasn't changed over the years. There's no easy way to process payments by swiping credit cards at meetings. Form-building and processing functionality is limited. We're glad to have the ability to produce simple forms, but there's been no improvement over the years. Forms can have attachments, but managing those attachments is very tedious. We've had to use third-parties for various form building and processing needs. YM has just this year upgraded their email system, so I can't speak to that—we had to move to a third party a couple years ago. We've found that YM's API is nonstandard in a number of ways, making integrations with third parties difficult and expensive, but YM is launching a standardized REST API this year, so that should be improving soon.

**Recommendations to others considering YourMembership:**

If your goals include any of the following, YM is definitely worth considering:
• Having a website that non-technical staff can easily manage and edit.
• Being able to manage much of association business on one platform, including membership, donations, conferences, email, and more.
• The ability to upload data as needed, as well as to perform many different queries and reports on existing data.

**What problems is YourMembership solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We wanted a way for individual staff members to be able to create and update the pages of the website that relate to their areas of responsibility. YM's custom page functionality made this very easy to achieve. As I mentioned, we have hundreds of pages, and we couldn't manage it all if it was only up to one or two people to update pages. We have three divisions, each with their own pages that key division personnel can update themselves. YM's group and group roles functionality make this possible. YM also makes it possible to host rotating advertisements on the site, which is important to us. Though the API has been troublesome for us, the fact that YM has an API has made it possible for us to integrate with a number of third-party solutions. As I mentioned, YM is upgrading their API right now, so we anticipate improvement in this area. We often need to collect information from members, and YM's form functionality allows us to do this. We can create a custom form and display it on a custom page. We can then export the responses as CSVs to process in Excel. Attachments require a bit of manual labor to manage. We're able to have members-only areas of the website that only logged-in, current members can access. We're able to receive donations, process meeting registrations, and sell advertising through the store functionality of the site.

It allows us to manage members, take payments, send invoices, and has decent career center and calendar features.

**What do you dislike about YourMembership?**

Can't filter SPAM; Queries/reports NOT user-friendly; Can't customize some reports (pulling Actions); Search function - need to use exact wording; Mobile site is terrible; No easy way to track year of membership; Can't update calendar events in a batch; Can't pull sub-accounts of ONLY current members with their master; Doesn't integrate with Emma; Can't transfer an individual dues invoice to another member, you have to transfer ALL of the invoices; Can't import member data; Doesn't save old data (budget, # of staff, etc.; Invoices don't fold into thirds to show address correctly to fit in window envelope; same notification is sent out for all store products (bad for online courses)

This is not a great product.

Good, basic membership database, which can also be used for registration for events.

It does not integrate well with quickbooks. Hard to pull historical records.

Make sure you are able to upoload any historcial data, or keep record of it elsewhere. It is not the most user friendly for this.

I like YM for its diversity in abilities. You can easily do exports, event reg, member set up. The dashboard feature on the homepage makes it easy to see if anyone needs to be addressed.

**What do you dislike about YourMembership?**

I don't like that it can be complicated to update the website from the backend. The support team can also be hard to get ahold of.

I would highly recommend choosing YM as your membership dashboard.

We like that is has space to include information about each of our contacts by creating customized fields.

**What do you dislike about YourMembership?**

I wish that it had push notifications so we could alert our team members to certain items as we input them in the customized fields.

This eliminates the need for team members in the field to bring contacts info with them. We also utilize the meeting registration aspect.

It is everything you need in one place. It is very robust and offers a wide variety of features and functionality

**What do you dislike about YourMembership?**

I have worked with other AMS systems and there is somewhat of a learning curve with this one. It takes a while to figure out some features and how other functions work

**What problems is YourMembership solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This software does what we need it to do which is manage our membership. The event app is a nice feature that we are using for our conference this year.

The software is simple and easy to use. It is very easy to click around and figure out what you need to without much prior knowledge.

The software often glitches or runs very slowly causing unnecessary delays in the work day

The membership rates are far easier to track and sending out membership renewals is very simple. Our membership rates have drastically increased

**What do you like best about YourMembership?**

Having an integrated website/database, being able to access the database remotely. There are many features for engaging members and allowing them the opportunity to interact.

**What do you dislike about YourMembership?**

Most of our member information is confidential (home addresses, emails) and there is no way to make only their professional information (i.e. office) available on a public member directory. The product is also a financial product, so there is less forgiveness of accounting mistakes. For every action, there must be a follow-up action (you cannot just delete or back out of a transaction that was made in error).

**Recommendations to others considering YourMembership:**

Do not expect it to solve all your problems. It requires a commitment to learning a new system. For us, this was an especially big shift because we had created "work-arounds" with the multiple systems we were using, and we needed to adjust our thinking as we learned. It is really important to have an implementation team in place, and to engage everyone who will touch the system in the implementation process.

We now have a platform that integrates our website, events management, networking, and database functionality, so it serves as the one repository for all that information.

**What do you like best about YourMembership?**

Has lots of great features.  It truly has everything in one place.  Social netwirking, event hosting, membership invoicing, newsletters, nulk emailing and much more.  The one drawback is that is daunting if you are running an organizations with minimal staffing.

**What do you dislike about YourMembership?**

Not always intuitive.  No tutorials for the end users.  Customer service really varies depending on which rep you get. The inability to customize the fillable forms is a little frustrating.  

**Recommendations to others considering YourMembership:**

Really test it out.  It is a great software, but I only work 1/4 so trying to learn all the features is time consuming. Better for larger organizations.

**What problems is YourMembership solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Like the event creation feature and calendars.  The automatic reminders really help cut down my workflow.  I need work on creating better emails but it has possibilites.

YourMembership allows me to manage both the frontend and backend of my website from a single dashboard. It is a very robust platform with many additional features depending on your organization's needs.

The administrator dashboard is not responsive.

Constantly changing to what they believe is right for the customer. As a trade association there are many functions that we have to work around, we have expressed our ideas and thoughts numerous times but I don't believe they truly listen to what people are asking for. Their support staff takes a long time to resolve problems and some times won't even return your ticket

Do plenty of research with what you're looking for and make sure that YourMembership will cover that, without having to purchase more.

We are able to house all of our member information in one location, while also using it for our website

YourMembership is great for member accounts management. The ability to generate and export certain member groups. The ability to manage event registrations through each member account. 

**What do you dislike about YourMembership?**

Any new feature that is necessary to maintain a database to make it easier is an additional cost. There is no discount for current members to upgrade the template or design. During updates from YM, we did have a system error for a few accounts that changed their permissions so our staff had to go through and self-manage the accounts.

Monthly fee with free updates to systems like email management, etc.

Database integrity and management is imperative to our association communications.

**What do you like best about YourMembership?**

For a trade association - this software includes a membership database, event registration, ability to put out own content, and more.

**What do you dislike about YourMembership?**

The time is takes to set up your website the most time consuming.

**What problems is YourMembership solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have given our members the ability to access information on the back end. Allows for better communication between staff and members. In addition, we have noticed our event attendance go up.

**What do you like best about YourMembership?**

This site is easily configurable, offers tons of options, and is reliable. Easy pay invoices allow members to pay their memberships without having to login, which is great!

**What do you dislike about YourMembership?**

There are some membership rules we'd like to include, but the software cannot currently support them. Example: If you enable auto-renew memberships, members can't pay in installments. 

**Recommendations to others considering YourMembership:**

Consider what it is that you really need the software to do. Our primary concern was accurate customer management. This software isn't customizable, so what you see is what you get. 

**What problems is YourMembership solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were having problems pulling reliable, useful reports using our previous AMS. Additionally, we were paying for services we weren't using. That's not the case with YourMembership.
