What do you like best?

Workspot allows our IT department to be as hands-on or hands-off as we need to be when maintaining the VDI environment. The implementation process was well thought out and went smoothly. Performance of the VDI desktops exceeds that of the previous VDI environment we had on premise. Allowing Workspot to take care of the underlying VDI infrastructure has really helped our IT department focus on support end-users as opposed to supporting infrastructure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Hardware specifications of the VDI machines is limited to the pre-built vms offered by Azure. Some more advanced tasks like resizing the OS drive on an already deployed VM cannot be done using the Control Panel and must be done by the support staff. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We were getting results of poor performance for remote workers on our aging, on-premise VDI platform. Moving to Workspot has virtually elimiated all VDI performance troubleshooting requests and has also allowed our team to focus on providing end-user support instead of monitoring and maintaining an on-premise VDI platform. What do you like best?

With a small IT Staff we were struggling to keep up with the demands of end users day to day tasks and managing our VDI environment. Workspot has taken the VDI load off our hands and has made it a simple process to spin up new users. This has allowed out department to focus more and provide better support without adding staff Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The migration with Azure and meraki vpn was a little difficult, but Workspot was great in assisting with the setup. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Prior to implementation of workspot we struggled with the skill set needed to maintain a VDI environment consistently having the stretch the IT Dept. By implementing Workspot we are now able to easily manage the environment which in turn has improved our response time to other end user issues.

The current Pandemic has allowed us to realize the true benefits of Workspot. We were able to to transition our staff from primarily in office to 100 % at home and didnt skip a beat. I have talked to many firms who took weeks to transition with full functionality, where even with a few end user issues had everyone producing within a couple days. What do you like best?

We have a windows based application that was going to take an arm/leg to redevelop to support apple products. The Workspot application was the answer to this . It's easy for users to install and now I am able to provide my app to these users. Cannot tell you how excited my company is to have this product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

I haven't experienced any dislikes. Getting great feedback from my clients and I am certain it will only be additional improvements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

It really solved a very big ask for our company. I am over the moon thrilled with the product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We can create unique instances of a virtual desktop for several uses. My team's use was particularly for these Apple/Mac devices, but we see huge benefits in other departments in our organization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We were struggling with Citrix, mainly internal skill set, we were looking at adding staff. We found Workspot and were able to off load the effort to them. We avoided adding staff, repurposed equipment and moved on. Having Workspot allowed us to transition easily to WFH during pandemic Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

With all the prerequisites in Azure, we were able to get provisioned very quickly. The management page is very easy to use. They continue to make enhancements to the service. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Even though it is a fixed cost, it is not cheap, especially for the fixed GPU models. The recommended Windows 10 build is an older 1809 (this however is due to Windows "issues"). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We had been working on setting up servers in Azure right before COVID-19 office closures. When we made Workspot desktops available to some of our users, they were able to work far more efficiently than before. With data and the desktops in Azure, they were able to do CAD designs faster than working from a VPN.

We have our own on-prem VDI solution, however to expand on that system would have high capex cost (especially when using dedicated GPU). With Workspot we can fixed opex costs, and not have to worry about the maintenance and upkeep of additional servers and infrastructure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

We utilize Workspot for full Desktop systems on multiple occasions. The build and deployment of a gold image is simple and easy to set up. We've built them within the Workspot environment and uploaded a VHD file on separate occasions and both were easy to do. The console has nearly everything you need right at your fingertips. The computers are fast an powerful, all of our users had no problem transitioning from a performance perspective. The offerings of Nvidia powered graphics capable systems for CAD/Solid Modeling programs makes it a great pick for even the most power hungry programs.

The support by the Workspot technical teams is top notch. Always responsive, with a useful answer. Always ready to jump in and help. Never once did I feel like my questions were beneath them. Always happy to jump in and work together to resolve issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Though the console has everything you need it could use some improvement in navigation. Occasionally I find myself hunting around for a particular item. The Active Directory connection can be a bit fiddly at first. But once it's syncing nicely there are no issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

If you're using a full desktop build the computer in the Workspot environment directly it's much easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It provides an always on desktop accessible from anywhere. When Covid hit and everyone had to work from home there was zero disruption to the workflow. With the Workspot systems and an Azure cloud architecture, zero days were lost in the transition for office work to work from home. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

End user ease of use, straight forward connection processes. Simplified backend management, there are not a lot of moving pieces to manage from Workspot control and the ones that are there are the ones used everyday. if you want to get into the weeds you can always jump over to your Azure subscription for further analysis and troubleshooting. Engineering support during setup and onboarding was great, didn't have to wait long to get answers to questions and solutions to problems. As a result on going support has been minimal but there when needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

When connection issues do arise, which hasn't been often, we have to rely on end user to upload logs and such to support. Would be nice if some of that information was uploaded automatically to control, when possible. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

As with any solution all use case are not covered. We have run across a few instances where Workspot was not the optimal solution from a technical and/or cost basis, but those are the exceptions. With that being said as Workspot continues to improve services/cost, some of those exceptions might go away. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

A simple VDI solution that is flexible period!!! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

Workspot's team of engineers are very knowledgeable and responsive. The connection broker is slick and provides a nice, simple UX. We already had cloud infrastructure in Azure, so setup was fairly painless and it allowed us to extend our existing Panzura file services out to the users running their VMs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

In certain small edge cases, the connection client is not up to par with other offerings. For instance, connecting via a Chromebook. Running it on Windows is highly encouraged. The knowledge base they have could use some more content, both for admins and for end users Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Make sure you have your power users thoroughly test production applications to uncover any incompatibilities, especially with drivers. Spend a LOT of resources with end-user education, so that expectations are set that no VDI will ever provide 100% performance compared to an equivalent physical PC, but that the trade off for flexibility is well worth it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

End user training and troubleshooting home connection issues are the hardest part about rolling Workspot, but this would be similar to any other competing vendor. In terms of benefits...quite frankly, we wouldn't be able to run our business without Workspot. Being able to run Autodesk design applications with solid performance almost the same as desktops in a physical office, but from anywhere, is invaluable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

A couple years ago we researched technology that would make it possible for our remote users/small upstart companies to access our global file share in Azure and work efficiently. We found that Workspot was the perfect solution. We needed two types of Virtual machines based on application use. Workspot provided high end GPU systems for our Cad users and power systems that worked perfectly for everyone else. The quick and attentive support that we received from Workspot from the initial setup through completion was another plus. This product works very well and as promised. We were so fortunate to have had this in place prior to the Pandemic. Workspot quickly reacted to our needs for additional systems during that time. We highly recommend this product! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

There is nothing that we found that we disliked. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

This is a great product that simply works for our remote users/small upstart companies, etc. Using Workspot allows us to cut cost by using less of a system on site because the computing power is in the Workspot VM. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

To minimize costs when spinning up small offices across the county without having to implement a lot of expensive hardware on premise or for remote workers Workspot provided the exact solution we needed. The Workspot client is easy to use for our users allowing them so many options such as working across multiple monitors which is vital when using Cad applications or GIS. The cost of the GPU Workstation. Hope the fractional GPU become available soon. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
