**What do you like best about When I Work?**

The ease of seeing people's availability and unavailability, especially for a company that staffs a lot of part time people. I also like that I cam assign different tasks and job level settings for the staff.

How the staff cannot understand ROs vs general availability

**What problems is When I Work solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I needed a new timesheet/time clock for my staff and we were already using wheniwork for scheduling so it was a great add on!!

**What do you like best about When I Work?**

What I like best about When I Work is how easy it makes to file leave. It also helps me to stay organized, reduces confusion about my shifts, and saves time for me as a everyday user of this. The email notification also makes it convenient to check my sched.

**What do you dislike about When I Work?**

One downside of When I Work for me is that notifications can sometimes be overwhelming on my email.

When I Work solves scheduling and communication problems, making it easier for me to know my shifts and stay organized.

**What do you like best about When I Work?**

It's very user friendly - takes away hours of scheduling and simplifies it with just dragging shifts to the appropriate employee and VOILA! Done in a matter of minutes. I love that it integrates with any phone calendar so all staff can see when the work without downloading an app.

I wish we could pay per an employee and not bundles of 5

The time it took for me to actually do the schedule on a basic calendar to the ease of it now, its amazing.

Open Shifts is a game changer. In transportation with part-timers and seasonal, we need that fluidity.

It's a bit more rigid as a punch-in time clock and our weird scheduling doesn't always align.

**What do you like best about When I Work?**

What I like best about When I Work is how easy and intuitive it is to use for both managers and employees. The app makes scheduling, shift swaps, and time tracking incredibly simple and organized. I really appreciate how it keeps everyone on the same page through instant notifications and clear communication features. It has saved our team so much time and eliminated confusion about shifts or availability. The interface is clean, fast, and user-friendly, even for people who aren’t very tech-savvy. Overall, it has made managing our team more efficient and stress-free — it’s truly one of the best scheduling tools I’ve ever used.

**What do you dislike about When I Work?**

There’s very little to dislike about When I Work, but if I had to mention something, it would be that sometimes notifications can be delayed or missed depending on the user’s phone settings. It would also be great to have a few more customization options for reports and shift views. However, these are very minor issues compared to how well the app performs overall — it’s still one of the most reliable and efficient scheduling tools out there.

**What problems is When I Work solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When I Work has solved many of the scheduling and communication problems our team used to face. Before using it, managing shifts, tracking availability, and keeping everyone informed was time-consuming and often led to confusion. Now everything is centralized — employees can easily see their schedules, request time off, and swap shifts without constant back-and-forth messages. Managers can approve changes instantly and track attendance in real time. This has saved us hours every week, reduced mistakes, and greatly improved team communication and accountability. It has truly streamlined the way we manage our workforce.

It makes it simple to execute & communicate clearly scheduling/scheduling needs.

Only thing I dislike is that the app sometimes crashes out.

We used to do the schedule week to week on paper.  don’t know how we functioned that way for as long as we did, now our staff is well prepared with their schedule posted a whole month in advance with the freedom to swap shifts.

It was easy to use and it helped with notifications as well as handling employee requests for time of.

The cost for just a few employees was discouraging. They raised prices so I ended up going with a free scheduling software due to just having less than 8 employees.

**What do you like best about When I Work?**

Easy to schedule employees for different shift/position assignments daily and easy to see where each person is assigned on a daily basis. Overall, it's very user friendly when making the schedule.

**What do you dislike about When I Work?**

It would make scheduling easier if we could copy and paste people's shifts rather than using the shift repeat option. Our schedule is on a rotating basis so employees don't have set days they work. Also, it would be helpful for employees to see their colleagues position, similar to how the admins can see it on their desktop. This can be done if the employee goes through and selects each position, but can't be seen at the same time. Last thing is the open shifts - some employees cannot see the open shifts or see different ones. I wish there was a way that everyone can see open shifts and people get reminded weekly of open shift availability.

**What problems is When I Work solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We didn't have a scheduling platform. It makes shift assignments easier and we can add notes in case the employee has other tasks to perform that day.

When I Work has made every access of our scheduling process easier - building the schedule, communicating it, dropping/picking up/covering shifts - all of it!  It was so easy for us to implement with our team and the customer support that we received when we were onboarding was fantastic!  Our team easily integrated into the system and use it frequently to see their schedule, see their assignments, and see who they're working with.

**What do you dislike about When I Work?**

I honestly can't think of anything I dislike about When I Work, except that it took us so long to find it!

**What problems is When I Work solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When I Work has been the perfect tool to help us have a unified scheduling platform that all of our employees can see from wherever they are.  They no longer have to rely on pictures of a printed out schedule floating around to hope they have the most up to date schedule.

It’s is extremely easy to use, and very convenient for my staff to be able to have access to the schedule at anytime through the app.

It can sometimes be challenging having to tab through the User and Position view points, it would be easier if that information was in one place

It keep track of clock ins and outs, lunch breaks and requests for time off. Plus is helpful for timesheets each week

**What do you like best about When I Work?**

I love that the staff can access their schedules on their phones or PCs. I also love that all of your support staff speaks with clear English and are easy to understand.  The chat feature is great also.

**What do you dislike about When I Work?**

The set up is very time consuming.  We set it up using tags to indicate which position each team member would be working in that day and as it turns out, the team cannot view the tags, so we have to rethink and redo the entire set up.  We could use the shift notes but then you have to type in each one because there is not a way to set them up as a drop-down option of choices. Also, there should be a way that you can turn off all of the staff notifications until set up and the schedule is in so that they are not pestered with multi notifications until admin is ready to launch the new program. Lastly it would be great if the "Time off" block could have the option of indicating "why" they are off so instead it would say, Sick, Vacation, Rotational Day Off, Personal Day etc. Lastly, you should have the option to include salaried users for scheduling purposes with the option of opting out of including them in the forecast tool that computes their hours and or their wages when they are not included in your para labor tracking.
Truthfully, we may not be able to continue to use this program if the above-mentioned things are not implemented soon.

**What problems is When I Work solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The hope was that it would help to better control our para labor budget by consolidating our five schedules   (1. Salaried DVMs & management, 2. Para Labor Technicians, 3. Customer Service Reps. and, 4. Our veterinary assistants. 5. Commissioned pet Groomers)  I am not certain that it is going to work for us.

It is incredibly simple to use and addresses many of the challenges with the dynamics of employee scheduling experienced by employers and employees alike. These of implementation was flawless. I used the free trial and was instantly in love with out fast and simple it was to get up and running within hours. The customer service and support we received from Jackson Purdy was exemplary. He was so friendly and easy to work with and understood the needs of our business, as well as our unique constraints and provided fast and gracious solutions.

**What do you dislike about When I Work?**

I wish there was Canadian pricing models for businesses located in Canada suffering from current economic conditions generated by political challenges. That being said, Jackson acknowledged this and made an incredible effort to support and navigate this with us. The number one thing I dislike about this software was that as soon as I saw and used it - nothing else could possibly compare or meet my expectations. It is a slam dunk. WELL DONE, When I Work, Jackson and team. You have a great product and we are proud to be using it.

**What problems is When I Work solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We required a software solely dedicated to scheduling. We struggled to find something user friendly and intuitive with only this focus. While When I work offers more, we had the ability to customize our use and create schedules in a timely fashion. We can easily communicate with our employees via the app, provide flexibility and opportunity for employees to pick up shifts with the OpenShifts feature and manage all availability in real time. We are just implementing now and could not be happier with our choice.

I like that When I work, once you learnt he system is user friendly.  The copy forward for shifts and repeat feature has made scheduling very easy.  Also the attendance tracking is a good feature to help double check any system that may already be in place.

The implementation process.  I think it is beneficial to have a contact person that follows up and walks you through until your first payroll period.  I did have to for the most part work through and figure things out on my own.

I love how quick and simple it is to schedule and manage my team! I have used this app at many different work places and it was one of the first things I changed when I started at this location!
My staff picked up on this super quick with very little training as well.

There are'nt many, but I wish there was a little more space for employee HR data points, and I really wish I could run payroll direct without integration with another application.
I don't love that my name shows up as a user because I am salaried so dont need a schedule.
