What do you dislike about Vuram Services?
Obviously, you have a time and cultural difference in working with an overseas contractor. As for the time constraints, Vuram takes the lead in ensuring that the team you are working with is available when you need them. In our particular instance, we have daily standups starting at 8:30 am EST with our entire Vuram team where we review the day's work and then review the backlog for the upcoming day. In most cases, the time difference does not come into much play. On days where we have a large deployment, they provide support up until an agreed-upon EST time. While that does not cover 100% of our operational day, it has not provided any huge issue. As for cultural differences. I don't necessarily see this as something we dislike. What is meant is that the resources on Vuram's team love to deliver and will most likely do anything to get that done. Sometimes they can be a little overzealous. Again, that is NOT the main issue. You just need to be specific in what you want, when you want it. Also, you need to make an effort to understand their culture and explain yours. In the US we use sarcasm a lot. I as the Product Manager try to make our standups and other meetings enjoyable, even fun. We joke a lot and in the beginning, we had to be careful we explained American sarcasm. With time we even had the Vuram team returning the sarcasm which as you might imagine did a lot for team building. We even had one resource who rotated off the team to thank us for showing him that all business meetings don't have to be all serious and with no fun. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Recommendations to others considering Vuram Services:
I would highly recommend Vuram if you are in need of quality Appian development services. This company employs very intelligent, conscientious, good people that are a joy to work with and get to know. The relationship has been such that I consider the people I have met as my friends not just resources. I could not consider finding a better team of young individuals that I would rather work with. What problems is Vuram Services solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being a media company my team focuses on the intake of promotional (commercial) creative requests. We have built out a platform that is used worldwide. The variations of commercial requests (both ad-specific and non-ad-specific) are unlimited. Building an intake platform that can handle these variations is challenging. To do this you need a team that can identify and address what seems to be the unlimited use cases surrounding a commercial submission. Vuram is providing significant assistance in building an intake platform that can address these variations easily. By leveraging Appian's ability to build component-based tools, Vuram has made it relatively easy to adjust to the various use cases that arise by building and substituting modules as needed. By using a conditional question system we are able to expose the correct module at the correct time for a given network. Vuram's architectural experts have made the resulting platform extremely versatile for very different networks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
