Storware Backup and Recovery Reviews & Product Details

We began using Storware Backup and Recovery after a decision to introduce a modern and reliable backup and recovery system into our organization. We had to find "corporate grade" solution tailored for our needs. And that's the point Storware shows up with a solution. It's easy to configure and setup, does not need Windows host - works great as virtualized (VM) node as well as mixed - virtualized node with node on physical server (our setup). Storware Backup and Recovery has simple and clear GUI to manage backup and recovery process. From late 2020 we are satisfied clients/users of this solution, and during this period we received fixes on a regular basis on triggered by our actions. That's the second great advantage, support is very responsive and helpful, all our concerns/issues are taken care of - just ask, and there always will be a person willing to help. Accurate cons are hard to pinpoint, every problem we report as I mentioned in previous section is being taken care of. This solution lacks Polish translations, and I know that English is the standard language in IT, but It would be "nice to have". Moreover, having more customizable notifications via email, Slack, etc. would be nice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

- It's easy to manage

- The support team is great and always helpful

- Storware is agentless, so there is no need to install additional software in my infrastructure

- I can use SBR with many different hypervisors, such as oVirt, VMWare, Hyper-V, KVM, Nutanix, and more

At the moment, there is nothing that I don't like about the product Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

- it works with oVirt! (as opposed to other backup options for oVirt)

- gives you multiple backup options

- provides integrations with external providers

- supports multiple hypervisors (often not supported with big/famous backup solutions)

- it's intuitive with a nice and easy to understand frontend

I didn't have any issues with this backup software, so it's hard to pinpoint something I dislike.

If I must, I would like to see support for multiple backup tasks for a single VMs :) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The two most helpful things were:

1. The solution is based on Linux and not Windows. Because of that, their support team is well versed in everything Linux. We also looked at Veeam, but their level of Linux expertise in the support department was lacking.

2. The support team was incredibly helpful and responsive. It was obvious they knew their way around the KVM Hypervisor and knew what needed to be tuned to ensure the best backup experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Our story began five years ago. The rapid growth of our infrastructure (regarding the number of end-nodes, but the virtual environment resources and spatial extent by deploying system instance at the research vessel operating in Arctic areas with limited access to the Internet as well) forced us to elevate the security of data and information. It is hard to find any cons. It was not easy to pass the threshold, having limited resources of man work and limited budget (as usual for research institutes running on governmental money). I became interested in Storware Backup about two years ago because of a more favorable licensing method than the previously used solution.

The tests were successful, and we decided to buy. What do I like best about Storware Backup now?

The tools provided by Storware are practical. The support is at a high level and helps you to quickly solve problems.
