## VinBalance Reviews
  ### 1. Stay far away

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2017

**What do you like best about VinBalance?**

Customer support. They are extremely friendly and responsive. They need to be though, see below

**What do you dislike about VinBalance?**

Just about everything. First, the technology in very old. VinBalance is a customized MS Access applicaiton that sits on MS SQL server. The front end is horrific. Nothing is easy or intuitive.

Second there are very little controls in the application that prevent the user from making a mistake. Improper inventory configurations can lead to huge headaches. Improper work orders can cause compliance reporting issues, etc.

The reports are, well, MS Access reports. Do you like hyperlinks? Well, forget about them because NOTHING is hyperlinked in vinbalance. Do you see a number on a report that interests you? Be prepared to spend hours to get to the bottom of it.

I could go on and on.

**Recommendations to others considering VinBalance:**

Stay away.

**What problems is VinBalance solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The only benefit is that this platform is an enterprise-level solution. It does everything from POS to Cellar operations, and it does it for a relatively low cost. However, it does nothing, and I mean nothing, well, or even good.

Stay away from this product.

  ### 2. Nice integrated Winery Software

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about VinBalance?**

I like that it's an all-in-one offering - tracks fruit to bottle and does a decent job at costing it along the way. Fully integrated GL and inventory tracking. We have built an interface with our POS software and it works pretty seamlessly.

**What do you dislike about VinBalance?**

The General Ledger, AP, and AR modules could be more user-friendly. Menus are not super-intuitive and screens are hard to get to. It is difficult to view multiple detailed transactions - once you select one from a menu, then close it, instead of taking you back to that same menu it kicks you out to the main menu and you have to start all over again. I hate that you can't re-code AP and AR transactions (i.e. change the GL account) after they've been paid. This creates the need for a lot of unnecessary journal entries. The financial reporting options are limited, and in general their reports menu is not customize-able. This creates the need for a

**Recommendations to others considering VinBalance:**

Make sure you take the time to understand how transactions flow through the system and hit the GL - from fruit to bulk to bottle. Make sure your winemaker or GM is at least semi-literate in technology as it is much easier if they input the work orders correctly.

**What problems is VinBalance solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Integrated winery management and costing.
