Not Built for Retail - Misleading Sales Associate **Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** August 16, 2021 **What do you like best about ShipCompliant?** None - we were extremely disappointed with our experience. **What do you dislike about ShipCompliant?** The sales associate indicated that we should pilot the product without an API and build an API connection as part of Phase 2. Little did we know that the API is required to begin using the product as the data requirements for uploading are far too custom and tedious for us to do manually. The product really seems to be intended for suppliers, not retail. It's very confusing because the supplier onboarding is layered into the retailer onboarding. The company had no problem keeping a full year's worth of our payments even though we were never able to use their product. I do not believe this company acts in good faith and I do not recommend doing business with them. **What problems is ShipCompliant solving and how is that benefiting you?** We were hoping to properly permit and report our taxes for shipping as a retailer. **Official Response from Barbara Fusco:** > Thank you for taking the time to post a review. Has saved us valuable hours each week on reporting to the various state agencies. **What do you dislike about ShipCompliant?** Initial set up could be a bit more detailed (from sales team) - but Tech support could answer any questions I had. When setting up, make sure to set aside time to dedicate to the set up to go over the detail (it pays dividends later on by not having to re-do set-up items) **Recommendations to others considering ShipCompliant:** Generally a positive experience. Get very detailed information about set up of platform (as the sales team sometimes is too general); Support team (Tech and Reporting) have been great - helpfully, on-top of reporting deadlines - in general, very good experience! **What problems is ShipCompliant solving and how is that benefiting you?** Filing DTC (Direct to Consumer) reports with various states - save us valuable hours each week. Helps flow information from WineDirect to ShipCompliant in order to make sure our shipments process smoothly ### 4. The tax processing is excellent as well, and saves us a huge amount of time every month. **What do you dislike about ShipCompliant?** Reporting should be easier in order to cross-check totals to ensure there are no errors. We have to reformat our data to upload it into the system, and there can be errors introduced in that process. **What problems is ShipCompliant solving and how is that benefiting you?** Time saving on monthly state taxes is the biggest! It's now a very simple process. ### 5. Sometimes the systems that connect to Ship Compliant offer limitations that need be solved. **Recommendations to others considering ShipCompliant:** If you need compliance assistance it is the best, however be ready for long response times on non-critical support tickets. **What problems is ShipCompliant solving and how is that benefiting you?** Compliance regulations and tax collections. ### 6. That's where Ship Compliant comes in. ### 7.
