Was able to simplify a lot of spreadsheets but bringing the data in via the cloud rather than dropping it from our accounting system. We have also used it for employee reviews bringing in significant amounts of data and making life easier for our operations team. We have our financial reporting moved to vena and can update it on demand to have instant access to our statments and any reports we have built. Cut down month end close time significantly. We have so many other uses that we can think of and just need the time to implement. **What do you dislike about Vena?** No major downsides. The user interface could be a little better. We primarily use it for budget and rollling it over from year to year could be better but the key is setting up everything right at the beginning. The biggest challenge with excel models is bringing in actuals and Vena solves for that in a very clean manner. If I were using a different FP&A tool, I would've had to revert to excel and rebuild the existing tool, for Vena the pivot was seamless. **What do you dislike about Vena?** It is very process specific, certain steps need to be followed otherwise certain functions won't work. It would be nice to have just one save button versus two ways to save (the template and the data). If there is a way to make it save once, that would be ideal. You can try to implement it yourself, but it is better to partner with a consultant who is experienced and can train you on it. This is consistent with other FP&A tools, but Vena hasn't cracked this code yet either. **What problems is Vena solving and how is that benefiting you?** Reporting was the biggest piece. VENA overdelivers value | Most software overpromises and underdelivers. VENA makes promises carefully, then overdelivers. We run our entire ERP using VENA, including quote management, job management, and financial reporting. 4. The VENA team is supportive | We have had nothing but success using the VENA team to train our small IS staff to substantially manage VENA on our own. 5. VENA works seamlessly with our existing systems and processes. **What do you dislike about Vena?** 1. VENA can appear low tech becasue data is rendered in Excel. The answer to this is to implement Power BI which we are doing now. 2. VENA is super flexible and super powerful. But it can be so flexible that little changes ripple through the data and challenge the resulting reports. Careful management of all inputs and auditing existing data is mandatory.
