What do you dislike about Unity?

The UI is a little bit cluttered, but that can be solved if you have a multi-monitor setup. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Many Pros, annoying little cons"
What do you like best about Unity?

Unity has faster loading times than some unreal engines. I also like that there is a more active community where I can ask questions and share information. The game engine has so many tools available and is even better because of the platform where those assets can be shared and sold. It is a valuable platform for beginners in game development because it uses less coding. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Unity?

You are required to start from scratch because templates are not usable. While the app is free to begin, there is a registration fee if you want to use the better parts of the app. There are also lagging issues when editing but maybe that is also better with a subscription. "this is the best application to start developing video games at a professional level"
What do you like best about Unity?

I like the ease with which it is possible to create scenarios and develop high-quality video games in a short time, it is a vital tool in my creative management Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Unity?

I wouldn't say that I dislike some things about Unity; It was love at first sight, I've been using it for a long time, and its usefulness is getting better and better Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best real-time engine for lightweight XR projects, hands down."
What do you like best about Unity?

Unity is one of the two main real-time engines used commonly in immersive tech development. You can see the love and care put into many plugins and solutions being created to aid developers, both from the Unity teams and assets from the marketplace. As a power user, this is my daily driver when it comes to creating interactive solutions that are fun, engaging and impactful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Unity?

The only complaint that I would have about Unity would be how difficult it may be to translate older scripts from workflows that have been furtherer developed and defined - you will need to sift through your code or drop edits into new boilerplate templates - but it will be worth it in the end. "Building Virtual world"
What do you like best about Unity?

Developers frequently use Unity's well-liked game engine to produce interactive encounters like simulations and video games. Unity's simplicity and adaptability make it available to a broad range of developers with various skill levels, two of its most valuable features.

The benefits of Unity that make it a valuable tool for game creation include the following:

Cross-platform development: Unity works with various hardware, including PCs, Macs, smartphones, tablets, gaming systems, and VR headsets. As a result, game designers won't need to write unique code for every platform to build games that work across them.

Extensive community and resources: Unity has a sizable and vibrant developer community that shares information, advice, and materials on boards, tutorials, and other platforms. Beginners can learn quickly, thanks to this, and seasoned writers can easily solve issues.

Visual scripting: Unity's Unity Playmaker visual scripting tool enables programmers to design intricate gameplay mechanics without typing code. This makes the process of creating interactive encounters simpler for non-programmers.

Models, textures, sound effects, and scripts are free and paid components in Unity's sizable Asset Store. Giving game creators ready-made assets to use in their creations can save them a ton of time and effort. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Unity?

While Unity has many positive aspects, there are a few drawbacks that programmers should take into account before choosing to use it. Here are some Unity flaws that are frequently encountered:

Steep learning curve: Despite being generally simple, Unity still has a learning curve, particularly for new users unfamiliar with game development concepts and programming languages. It can take some time to learn all of the features and tools the engine offers.

Performance problems: Despite being performance-optimized, Unity can still experience issues with big or complicated games. To ensure the game works smoothly, developers must be careful with their code and asset management.

Lack of modification: Due to Unity's engine's restrictions on customization, some developers may feel constrained in their ability to express themselves creatively. This can be frustrating for developers who want to make distinctive games with particular characteristics.

Although Unity is free, there are licensing costs for developers who want to use particular features or distribute their games on specific platforms. Particularly for independent developers who might not have access to many resources, these fees can be prohibitively costly.

Integration of third parties: Unity supports a wide range of third-party plugins and tools, but compatibility problems or errors may occur when incorporating them into a game. Troubleshooting and fixing this can take a lot of effort.

Overall, Unity is a strong and adaptable game engine with many advantages, but it also has some disadvantages that designers should consider. To decide if Unity is the best option for their project, developers should compare these aspects to their unique requirements and objectives. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best videogame engine for entry level developers"
What do you like best about Unity?

It has an amazing community and documentation. there is a lot of material to learn and study about making videogames and entry-level developers can use it with ease Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Unity?

I'll say that some objects and the documentation sometimes is out of date or some things don't work as expected. Also it's quite heavy on machine resources so it can be a little of a hassle to use in a modest computer Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Perfect for Game Development, XR Prototyping and anything creative."
What do you like best about Unity?

It's the ease of use and community support. Easy to learn and get started with the pre-built templates. Very Intuitive user interface. Comparatively easier to learn and get started with compared to other game engines. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Unity?

Not the best solution if you want to create highly realistic environments. The HDRP provides good lighting but it's not close the realism that some other game engines can provide. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Tool which made game development easier"
What do you like best about Unity?

Using this, we can create good games with high-quality of graphics with ease, and it is easy to learn and understand. It reduces rendering time as compared to other software. It also have great built-in functions and plugins to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Unity?

Overall it is a good application that is very easy to use, but its UI is terrible. It has many options, but there is a template for us to start on, and we must build everything by hand. Sometimes the system may lag. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
