Easy to set up initially but watch for costs

Only use if you never (and I mean never) want to close account
I have been trying to close our thinkific account for a year, it is impossible! It will let you downgrade to a free account but there you are stuck! You might think, that’s ok, they’re now charging you. Well, the problem is that every time you disable a course another one is reactivated. I have just had to refund a load of learners who have managed to sign up and pay for courses that we no longer run.. Not good for business!!!! There are other, better and more cost effective platforms out there.
Impossible to speak to a person, Help pages are a joke

It's not, it is however causing us problems as we are still getting learners enrolling and paying for courses

The best part about Thinkific is that it is very intuitive and simple to use. Key features like course builder and site builder are quite robust and reliable. I also like how responsive and supportive the team is w.r.t all queries.

Capability on Real-time reporting and insights is definitely an area that carries scope for improvement. It is not very easy to see your learner progress across courses and your learner lifecycle in one place.

**What do you like best about Thinkific?**

Simply put, Thinkific Plus offers. Us the best value for money of any LMS we have used, and we have tried quite a few! It is fast, user friendly, and the support we received from the Thinkific Team is absolutely excellent.

**What do you dislike about Thinkific?**

We're a bit disappointed that compatibility with SCORM content authored by our learning team can't be hosted, but we've managed to find workarounds for this and our content is looking great on the platform.

**What problems is Thinkific solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Thinkific Plus has a very competitively priced licensing model, which makes it easy for us to take bold decisions about new launches without having to worry about spiralling license costs. The integration with Salesforce is a key driver for us, and it makes data and reporting incredibly powerful, integrating learning data with data in our CRM system for all of our learners. We have been able to quickly roll out new courses, add content to existing ones and improve functionality and user experience using some of the plug ins that are available.

**What do you like best about Thinkific?**

I love regular meetings with our Thinkific PLUS Customer Success manager. She can troubleshoot about our specific design needs, connect us with support, and respond to our requests asynchronously. It feels very high-touch in that we know there's someone from Thinkific on our side helping us achieve our goals on a regular basis.

**What do you dislike about Thinkific?**

Sometimes there's not support for design changes that are deemed outside the scope of Thinkific's role (for instance, creating custom CSS to add to a site) but these design changes are made necessary by structures in Thinkific's site builder specifically, so it feels like there might need to be some support for solving issues that only exist because of some of Thinkific's existing structures. I also wish there were more interactive design options within Thinkific's courses as opposed to having to use outside applications with extra cost.

**What problems is Thinkific solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Thinkific allows us to provide asynchronous self-paced training for our customers who might not be able to take time out of their day to attend a live webinar. We've seen that these courses are popular in some areas.

It's very user-friendly! It beats out the competition by a long mile.

**What do you dislike about Thinkific?**

It takes a bit of time to get the hang of it but there are a number of videos to guide along. The other thing is that you have to add PowerUps (additional cost) to really make it look better.

Ease of integrating more interactive learning designs and collecting learner information. We often have to send people off platform and it's a more confusing experience.

The Thinkific Plus team truly cares about your Thinkific site's success and is always ready to help - and with speed! It's like an LMS partner and PM.

Not one thing I can complain about. The team is so responsive and features are always being added.

**What problems is Thinkific solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a complex product to learn and we didn't have online training courses. This led to lost sales and revenue. Now that we have established courses and an easy way to learn our product, sales and review have increased. It's easier to sell with free online training.

**What do you like best about Thinkific?**

Easy to navigate and fantastic from an operational backend user/admin professional point of view. Additionally, Thinkfic gives learners ease of use and freedom to learn from anywhere. It is an exceptional learning platform for both instructors and learners. Excellent technical support. Implementation of the course curriculum is incredibly smooth and quick. There are tons of tutorials available for assistance. The features on this platform are easy to use and plentiful.

There are some minor iOS integrations that Apple does not allow.

We currently have no issues with the platform.

The ability to customize the platform to meet our needs and for our audience to not think they are on a different site. Thinkific seemed to be the most modern platform in the LMS space.

The lack of email marketing directly within the platform. Having additional subscriptions or things to purchase to make our site "just right."

Using Thinkific Plus has allowed us to reallocate our dollars from in-person to virtual onboarding. This has allowed us to get more engagement and overall satisfaction from our audience.

We can upload our contacts from the previous database within just a few minutes. Also, there are additional groups of learners, which is easier for us to take care various learning cohorts.

The advance report is quite helpful, but as it is still under a demo phase, there is a little bit of lag.

We do not have to worry about managing our server anymore; there is no longer an afraid of DDOS.

I am also an expert in the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS), having been recently a manager of that system for another accredited university for seven years with six thousand online college students, so I believe I can speak to the strengths and weaknesses of Thinkific as an LMS.

Very "user friendly", allows for a quick start and easy management (even if you are not "tech savvy"). Includes easy-to-follow tutorials for getting started. Offers a linited free version to test out the LMS before committing.

Some needed marketing features missing from the LMS that require additional apps to be plugged in. Some minor limitations when structuring payment options. Lacks the ability to allow prospective students to preview bundles (only individual courses)

Helps me to easily run an online course business. Thinkifics main benefit is that it makes it very easy to create a course that looks good and a digital business that is easy to manage.

I greatly appreciate the added features such as being able to email people directly. The interaction was the key to getting plus.

We simply cannot afford to continue to use it. We have actively sought alternatives.

We wanted to host a multitude of classes. We need the ability to hide them, and we need to be able to contact the people who were directly involved in the courses.

Thinkific is super easy to manage, has a drag & drop course landing page builder, and at the same time, you can do almost anything editing the code.

**What do you dislike about Thinkific?**

Reporting could be better, having more complex analysis. Also, there are some essential features that you need to buy a plugin: custom profile fields and targeting a course for an audience.

I can deliver a very friendly platform for our customers, and all my team can manage this, I don't been needed to have a designer or dev. We were able to improve customer retention and active use.

Easy to put together the stages of the course, collection of subscribers, easy interface, just learning to use with tools, it is better value for money

I haven't found any downsides, not sure if anything is missing, everything seems to work well, I can expand on improvements once I am an experienced user

The Thinkific platform provides all the tools needed in creating a course right mapping out the course outline to actually developing the course and making sales for the course. Marketing via Fiver is also underway.

**What do you dislike about Thinkific?**

The marketing of the course on social platforms is not intergrated into the platfor.  It would be good to have an interphase of the sharing tools to popular social sites such as LinkedIn, Twitter etc into the platform to improve the current sharing option of having to copy the course url in order to share to other platforms.

Make use of the extensive tools offered on the platform to experience maximum benefit

Thinkific platform offers service that would otherwise be accessed by big publishing houses to ordinary individual/ small business course creators with the added advantage of facilitating access to global markets as the courses are available online.

I like how easy it is to create a course. We've created a course for every single webinar we've hosted. It displays it really nicely on the landing page. Very easy to navigate around our e-learning page.

It is a bit difficult to navigate at the start. But once you know you're way around it gets easier.

I love that we can upload all our webinars in one portal. Our clients and community can jump online and view all the courses/webinars. It's also been a great way to generate leads for us.

Thinkific is an intuitive and easy-to-use platform. Building classes to respond in an agile manner to the learning needs in our association has been seamless. Thinkific's support team is also helpful and responsive. Registering participants and managing student needs is also easy, and the automated communication and certification offer stress-free class management options!

After using the platform for close to a year, I have not yet found anything I dislike.

**What do you like best about Thinkific?**

Last year when I decided to create an online course I was looking for a platfor I could test before committing. Thinkific has a VERY robust free version that caught my attention. I set up my new course here so I could BETA test it before it's official launch. Because this was a new offering I wanted to have as simple as a setup process as possible, and one that was easy for my newbie students to use. THIS is exactly what Thinkific delivered.

**What do you dislike about Thinkific?**

My main complaint about Thinkific is it's aesthetic. Since I've built my brand from a body of work that is near and dear to my heart, it is important to me that my clients and students really resonate with how the work is delivered. They have said thinkific is easy to access the material and utilize functionally, however I would love a smoother and more streamlined feel to it's appearance. (Caveat: I'm an Apple person, I've described Thinkific as more of an Android feel ;)

**Recommendations to others considering Thinkific:**

If you are truly looking for a bespoke experience, you either need to know code or have someone on your team that does. I'm happy with the baseline, but don't have these skills, if I were to ask for a next step it would be to make it more on-brand, which is beyond what I can DIY.

**What problems is Thinkific solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being a hands-on practitioner for going on 2 decades, I wanted a way that the students of my new course(s) could feel actively engaged with this work. Because of it's mutli-media versitility Thinkific has given me an online platform to connect. I use the PDF, video, and quiz options most. I love that my students get reminder emails and that I can track their progress. It makes us feel connected even in this virtual space. One of the benefits I have realized is a scalability that I hadn't thought of before, new ways to present my work are in development!

It's a little difficult to setup if you are not experienced with Thinkific. It took a lot of clicking around to find specific things, it wasn't exactly aligned in a way that made sense to me.

Give yourself enough time to learn the backend. If I had to do it again I would create a document with different pathways and directions of how I setup parts of my page. It got to be confusing trying to remember all the ways I clicked around during setup.

Using as a platform to upload, host and sell a workout guide, ability to accept payments for this guide through here.
It is seamless to be able to have the workout program all in one place as well as client list and payment options. 
Customers can watch the workout videos/view the PDF all in once place.

I transitioned from LifterLMS to Thinkific for my business, InterSign University. It was the best decision, even though I had to get a loan to pay for the cost of Thinkific. If money wasn't an issue (or at least less of an issue), I would have switched over years ago! 

First, the ease of building courses is the best part. I had to transfer all my courses from LifterLMS to Thinkific. I was nervous that this would take lots of time, but it didn't! The course-building platform is intuitive, thank goodness.

Second, because my business is based on video content (courses teaching sign languages from around the world), the lack of video limits is key for me!

**What do you dislike about Thinkific?**

The cost is NOT friendly for tiny businesses like mine with only 30-50 students per year. If my business continues to grow in the next year, I'll stay with Thinkific because the platform is great! However, I wish there was a percentage option where Thinkific gets a commission for each course sold (whether 30 courses in the year or 50) for small businesses like mine. That would allow for growth without breaking the bank.

Unfortunately, even with getting a loan, I am still only able to afford a lower tier package which means that options like (1) commission sharing with my teachers, (2) access to the courses for each of my teachers, etc. are all outside of our budget which is very frustrating. My teachers often want to make a minor change in the course but have to work through me. :/

**What problems is Thinkific solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I had the open-source version of LifterLMS. It was definitely better than creating a course platform from scratch, but it was extremely labor intensive. Thankfully, Thinkific has the options I need (tracking course progress, unlimited video, direct payments, etc.) and is much easier to navigate.

I have been using the Thinkific platform for over two years, and I have found it very easy to use and very adaptable. The ability to upload all of my content easily and quickly and build a course has been effortless, even for a non-techy person like myself.  If you have great content, you can create a great course and try the free option to get started.   There is great flexibility with branding also, and I have built a system that matches my entire brand online. So Thinkific is a product I would have no hesitation in sharing with my friends and business associates.

**What do you dislike about Thinkific?**

I have trouble finding anything I don't particularly appreciate because one can start for free and build an entire course at no cost, and so how many companies would allow you to do so.  It is very easy to build, and the customer service team is accommodating and open, so it is a joy to work with every day.

It is a simple yet powerful tool which can be a great product for you to share your skills on for global students to use abs pay you. It's easy to upload content in any form and to arrange the course however you wish.

I am supporting those with ideas like myself. So I built this for me and for my friends who had ideas initially and then decided to share it publicly.  It is essentially supporting a person with an idea or passion and evolving that into a purpose-driven role or small business model. Again - it is something I would have needed when creating my brand, and so it can help a person develop their ultimate model or role and even build a high-end consulting business like I operate today.  For me, Thinkific is a great tool because I can automate my training and share the course as a product and as a front end introduction to my brand and solutions.

**What do you like best about Thinkific?**

I appreciated how much control you had over the various aspects. Even the free version was great. We were able to gain important insights to various strengths and weaknesses in our training and onboarding processes which helped make future decisions.
Using a program like thinkific allows you to create learning environments while also providing you with key insights to help understand the gaps in certain areas of our work.
Another massive benefit to thinkific is that it is very simple to set this up. They have created a user-friendly platform that allows a certain degree of customization. We were able to transition our content into the modules that we were hoping to create quite quickly. This allowed us to build a prototype training program.

**What do you dislike about Thinkific?**

It would be awesome to have Salesforce integration. So much of what we do flows through this. It would be nice to be able to incorporate this to different Contractor accounts for the purposes of reporting. When we use tools that don't fully integrate it does create extra work for the company which makes us less productive. Granted, we have only sampled the free version up to this point, but if we were to invest in this further, I would hope that we could maximize our usage by the ability to streamline this.

Give it a shot with the free version. There is no time limit on it and you will be able to get a good glimpse as to whether or not this will meet your needs. Make sure that you take the time to explore your dashboard an look at all that you can get from this platform.

We are providing training modules to contractors.  This has allowed us to ensure greater quality of work among our workforce. Prior to using this platform, we relied heavily on manpower to accomplish what we needed to accomplish. This has reduced that massively.

The course creator module is sooo simple to use.  It's powerful, but not complicated.  You can customize every step of the process and there are more than a dozen types of entries you can use for every item in a course.  I have two accounts, and use them very differently.  One account has only one course, and it's repeated multiple times with live sessions and support material.  Slick and looks great!  The other account has 6 different courses and all are made up of individual sections that are grouped into pathways.  Again...it looks great and it's easy to use.  PLUS it gives a great student experience.

**What do you dislike about Thinkific?**

I don't love the sales process, but it integrates with the WordPress install we use for the front end/sales segment of our site.

Online training doesn't have to be complicated.  We are delivering a multi-modal training opportunity with video, live sessions, quizzes and writing assignments.  Thinkific does it all!

Thinkific is a purpose-built online course builder software so not only does it have all the features necessary to build and manage an online course, but also offers the ability to support students and market your courses.

Like all platforms, there's a bit of a learning curve with understanding how to get set up initially. There is however plenty of tutorials and courses (of course - no pun intended)  to help you work your way through step-by-step. I think it's well equipped for the novice to self-learn at their own pace.

**What problems is Thinkific solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Thinkific allows you to create an online course that has a high chance of being completed due to the interactive tools and features that it provides. For example, one of the features I find most useful is the quiz feature. This allows the student to test their knowledge at the completion of a module and works towards recreating a class-like experience, rather than a "read this and good luck" style of appraoch.

I like how it is simple to create new users and affiliates. The course editor is one of the best I have used and makes organising course content straightforward.

It does get expensive as more features are added. Better discounts for longer term contracts would  be good.

I am not a techie, and I found that creating my course on Thinkific is easy to use, and find my way around the platform.  Uploading my videos and worksheets was easy and if I messed something up it was easy to delete and start again. I like that their online and phone help really know what they are doing and can explain things so I could understand and resolve any issue I had.

The pricing is okay but could be better in my opinion.

The software is relatively easy to use. It is fairly restricted in site development, but that is no different from similar competitive offerings. More pricing options are provided vis-a-vis competing offerings but only available with higher (and more expensive) plans

**What do you dislike about Thinkific?**

Most options are available with higher-priced plans. The biggest negative with the platform is that it offers ZERO SECURITY. A paid subscriber can access the content  URL using a simple "View HTML" that can then be shared with anyone. Absolutely anyone.

**Recommendations to others considering Thinkific:**

With no security, the platform is a NO GO for all except those who are okay with their content being pirated. 

Discussions with support were more worrying. Instead of suggesting a way to fix through product development, the suggestions ranged from "most of our subscribers do not have a piracy mindset", "use script to disable right-click" (which isn't a solution since the user can easily view the page source), and such useless options. They admitted that this was an issue, but neither had a timeframe to resolve nor a direction/commitment to sort this immediately. 

Despite notifying the company that their documentation states the exact opposite and is intended to mislead customers, the support team agreed to our assertion, but the documentation (https://support.thinkific.com/hc/en-us/articles/360030721673) remains unchanged as of date.

Unfortunately, we discovered the security issue after four months of site development.  
It probably would be wise to check if this is an issue with other competing online course platforms as well

Thinkific is really easy to use. It is intuitive where I was able to create my first course with little need to watch any videos. 
I like the onboarding guides available if I am stuck or want to try new things. 
Thinkific has the same values as I do in regards to education, and I love that there is continual training available to support its users in implementing Thinkific the right way to provide further value to students.
I like that you can pretty much create Thinkific as your entire website and have everything there, the site builder is impressive (compared to other learning platforms)

**What do you dislike about Thinkific?**

Not much. I would like to have a URL completely rebranded and added to my site. But that is asking for a lot. 
Most of what I don't like comes down to the reporting and learning experience. I would love to see more workflows in the platform that allows you to create personalised reminder message such as "hey student, we have noticed you haven't logged in for a while. Come on back!" I know this is doable with integrations such as Zapier, but it is not sufficient. 
An entire workflow system would be amazing, where the reports are utilised to then trigger workflows. Such as the last log in type, the last lesson completed, enrolment date (I could continue).
The Zapier connection is pretty basic as well. I would love to do things system-wide. For example: If a student completes any lesson within any course, send them an email. And that email has merge tags to become more personalised.

**What problems is Thinkific solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For my business, I am able to provide my 1:1 clients with knowledge base courses that they can take so that our time is more valuable focusing on the implementation. I have helped other course creators in Thinkific as well, I have supported them in solving problems of not knowing how to use the system and also to implement automation.

I also completed a 6 month course using a Thinkific platform managed by the course provider. I've thus had a student experience which was great and now I'm setting up my own courses here. I really do enjoy using the platform and can't recommend it highly enough.
