Before we switched over from Muvi Travel, every time we arranged multiple concurrent artisan‑fair trips, I would waste hours toggling between separate booking tabs and chasing staff for booking confirmations over Microsoft Teams. Our team regularly heads out to handicraft expos and textile‑supplier meetings all across Germany, and often we send two or three small teams out on different trips at the exact same time. I can book rail tickets and venue‑adjacent hotel accommodation all within one single dashboard, assign travelling artisans directly to each trip, and keep an eye on accumulating costs in real‑time. I recall our trip to the southern‑Germany ceramics fair earlier this spring. I was able to view the full trip spend as I made reservations, and I quickly swapped one over‑priced hotel to keep us within our exhibition budget, something I could never do efficiently with our old tool. On top of that, every completed booking automatically attaches its corresponding invoice PDF to the trip record. I no longer need to pester travelling colleagues to forward hotel and rail invoices to my inbox. In the past, one hotel booking confirmation for a Saxony craft market got buried inside an artisan’s spam folder, and I spent two full days contacting the hotel to get replacement documents for our bookkeeping. That being said, it still has noticeable drawbacks for German small‑business workflows. Even though invoices save inside the platform, they are not audit‑ready for local tax rules, so I still have to manually export every file and upload them into ownCloud for compliant permanent storage. Occasional broken umlaut characters also pop‑up when I export trip CSV files. Even with those extra manual steps, these core features take away most of the scheduling and paperwork chaos during our busy fair seasons, and that is where Supertripper really delivers tangible value for our team. **What do you dislike about Supertripper?** There are several frustrating limitations within Supertripper that create consistent extra admin work for our arts‑and‑crafts firm, starting with its half‑baked German localization. A lot of UI text reads like raw machine translation, and local vendor names for German hotels and regional rail services frequently display corrupted special characters on the dashboard and exported outputs. Not long ago, I was pulling booking records for our Brandenburg regional handicraft fair. Multiple hotel names came out garbled in the exported CSV file. I had to open the spreadsheet and manually correct each mis‑rendered hotel name one after another before I could import records into our local accounting system. This ate up valuable time I should have spent analysing customer feedback data from SurveyKiwi. The bigger pain point is that Supertripper only handles pure travel bookings. We cannot log any of our exhibition‑related non‑travel costs within the platform. Things like market‑booth rental fees, cargo shipping for our heavy ceramic and wooden artworks, on‑site stall catering and emergency booth‑supply purchases all live entirely outside this tool. We ran into a very messy situation at our summer open‑air artisan market. Our travel bookings were neatly stored inside Supertripper, while booth rental and cargo transport receipts sat scattered across ownCloud folders. When month‑end reconciliation rolled around, I accidentally mixed up travel expenditure and booth‑related costs. It took me well over two hours to cross‑reference every receipt and untangle those two sets of spend. There is also no locked‑down audit trail for stored booking documents. I cannot treat Supertripper as our official tax archive, so every single trip’s invoices must be manually copied over to ownCloud. These shortcomings do not break the core booking function, yet they force us to build lots of manual workarounds to fit German small‑business operational and compliance requirements. **What problems is Supertripper solving and how is that benefiting you?** We adopted Supertripper mainly to fix the fragmented booking and tracking headaches we dealt with while using Muvi Travel. Back then we had no consolidated view for multiple‑concurrent craft‑fair trips, booking invoices did not attach to trip entries, and I spent endless time chasing down paperwork from travelling artisans. I still remember a stressful autumn period last year, when three separate teams travelled to different handicraft expos across Germany. Working inside our old tool, I lacked a unified dashboard to check all active trips at once, and I accidentally duplicated two hotel reservations. That avoidable error cost us several hundred euros from our exhibition budget and created unnecessary budget pressure for the rest of that quarter.
