"Storylane Makes Product Demos Easy and Saves Us Serious Time"

5/5

What do you like best about Storylane?

Storylane makes it much simpler for us to connect our products with customers. In the SaaS space, it can be really hard to get time with customers, onboard them to new solutions, and make sure they’re prepared before a feature launch. We especially love how easy it is to go from capturing our own software to sharing it with customers.

Pricing feels aligned with the market, and we consistently see useful features showing up for us to use.

Storylane also tracks “Time saved,” which reflects how much time end users spend using the demos instead of jumping on a call. Over the last 12 months, we’ve saved more than 600 hours.

The software runs in your browser or desktop - and I've never had any issues with speed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Storylane?

I don't think there's anything significant to dislike. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Storylane solving and how is that benefiting you?

We use Storylane to connect software to customers through product launch demos, feature overviews, and onboarding support.

It allows us to showcase our capabilities launching to 50+ customers without initially engaging in a call. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Storylane Makes Self-Guided Product Demos Easy, Plus a Powerful HubSpot Integration"

5/5

What do you like best about Storylane?

What we like best about Storylane is how easy it is to create engaging, self-guided product demos without requiring technical expertise. We use it extensively at Unified Track for lead generation, prospect education, customer training, and product walkthroughs.

The HubSpot integration has been especially valuable because it allows us to use our demos as effective lead magnets, capture prospect information, and connect engagement directly to our sales and marketing workflows. We also appreciate Storylane’s AI capabilities, particularly the ability to add video walkthroughs and guided narration to the demos we create. This helps us deliver a more personalized and informative experience while allowing prospects to explore our platform on their own schedule.

Storylane has become an important part of both our sales and customer success strategy because it is intuitive, flexible, easy to update, and seamlessly supports how we generate, educate, and convert leads. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Storylane?

There honestly isn’t much we dislike about Storylane. If we had to identify one area, it would be that some of the more advanced customization options can take a little time to learn. That said, the platform is very intuitive overall, and the Storylane team continues to make improvements that enhance the experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Storylane solving and how is that benefiting you?

Before Storylane, we relied heavily on scheduled live demonstrations, static marketing materials, and one-on-one training sessions to show prospects and customers how Unified Track works. This made it difficult to provide an immediate product experience, especially when buyers wanted to explore the platform on their own schedule.

With Storylane, we can now create interactive, self-guided demonstrations that are available 24/7 and tailored to different audiences and use cases. We use these demos for lead generation, sales follow-up, product education, onboarding, and customer training. Prospects can experience the value of our platform before scheduling a meeting, while our team can spend less time repeating the same introductory walkthroughs.

The HubSpot integration also allows us to use our demos as lead magnets, capture prospect information, and connect demo engagement directly to our sales and marketing workflows. Storylane’s AI and video walkthrough capabilities help us add context and guidance to each demo, creating a more personal experience without requiring someone from our team to be present.

Overall, Storylane has helped us scale how we demonstrate and explain our product, reduce repetitive live presentations, standardize customer training, and give prospects a faster and more engaging way to understand Unified Track. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy Content Creation for Effective Guidance to Enable Customers & Employees"

4.5/5

What do you like best about Storylane?

This has helped us quickly deploy guidance and quick how tos to both our internal teams and to customers. Very easy to create a Storylane. I also love the intent emails after someone has watched a Storylane that you created. We got up and running super quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Storylane?

We ran into an issue when a creator left the company, and it wasn’t very clear what would happen to the content. We felt there was a risk that if we closed that account and switched to a new one, we might lose our content. I’d recommend improving the content ownership and sharing model so it’s clearer and less risky in situations like this. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Storylane solving and how is that benefiting you?

It helps us onboard new employees, build knowledge internally, and share that knowledge with our customers. We can also quickly create customer-specific content, which makes it easy to leave behind useful artifacts. The AI and the UI/UX make creating and organizing content feel straightforward and efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Fast, Fun Interactive Demos with Great AI and Editing"

5/5

What do you like best about Storylane?

I like that it doesn't take long to create an interactive walk through of a live product just by clicking through it like you normally would. The editing capability makes it easy to fine tune the interaction for the user. We have also been able to use it for support and training users of the VisionSync platform with a relevant example in their environment. The AI does a great job setting up the interaction and in most cases you don't even need to change what it creates. It has been a good return on investment to be able to see the interactions and learn about organizations that might be exploring using our platform from our website or other sources where we can embed or link to our Storylane. We are even using it in outbound sales and GTM efforts due to is portability and speed to adjust to what we need.I find it fun to create something in minutes that used to take hours or a specialist. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Storylane?

No downsides I have experienced with the platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Storylane solving and how is that benefiting you?

Business development, out reach, client and prospect education, training and support. Those benefit us tremendously and we are getting good feedback on the demo capability and the training resources we can provide now in a customized way. It is nice that it is integrated right into my browser and I can start it at any time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive, AI-Powered Demos with Lightning-Fast Performance"

5/5

What do you like best about Storylane?

I love that it is incredibly intuitive to use. I think that the infusion of AI in the process makes things extremely effective. For e.g - there are parts of a demo that I've never looked at in a certain way before and this is highlighted by the AI generating the text bubbles and things along those lines. I love that we don't have to use our voices during the demo recordings. I especially like the controls through the chrome extension and the flexibility in choosing between screenshots and html which makes demos highly customizable. The support and onboarding process was great because our team had a call with a CSM from Storylane that went through the entire product having someone from our team work on a demo as a live use case. The performance of the platform is unlike any other product in it's class. Extremely quick to record, render, refactor and edit demos. Love it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Storylane?

Not much to say, to be honest. It gets the job done, and it does it better than any other tool I’ve seen so far. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Storylane solving and how is that benefiting you?

It solves the problem of demos taking incredibly long to create, while also avoiding demos that feel uninstructive and dry. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"An essential tool for interactive product marketing"

4/5

What do you like best about Storylane?

What I like most about Storylane is how easy it is to create interactive product demos that actually feel like using the real application. Instead of relying on static screenshots or long videos, we can guide prospects through the most important features in a structured and engaging way. It helps us explain our product much faster, especially during the awareness and consideration stages, and gives potential customers the freedom to explore at their own pace. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Storylane?

My main concern is that some changes happen unexpectedly. We experienced a design update that affected our demos without clear communication, and at one point the video export feature stopped working. The AI Assistant also occasionally modified existing step content while adding new screens, with no undo option available. These issues weren't frequent, but they did create extra work when maintaining demos. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Storylane solving and how is that benefiting you?

As a B2B SaaS company, one of our biggest challenges is helping prospects quickly understand the value of our platform. Storylane solves this by allowing us to present our product through interactive, self-guided demos instead of static screenshots or long videos. This generates more interest, makes complex features easier to understand, and gives potential customers a much better first product experience before they talk to sales. "Intuitive, Clean UI with Solid Performance and Helpful AI Features"

5/5

What do you like best about Storylane?

The UI is intuitive and clean, and I’ve never had any issues with it. I haven’t tried any integrations yet, but I plan to look into them.

Website performance is solid and seems to be improving over time. A few months ago I ran into some problems with video cutting, but those issues are fixed now.

Pricing is straightforward, and I really like that I can publish a demo even on the free plan. I think I’ll create more demos, and then upgrade to a paid plan to publish them.

I also appreciate the AI features. For example, the text description for each step is already partially filled in; I still had to make some adjustments, but overall it did a good job even with little to no context.

I tried a few competitors, but I chose Storylane because it fit the kind of product tour I had in mind better.

I can’t judge mobile demos yet, but I’m glad this feature exists and I’ll give it a try later. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Storylane?

Some features aren’t explained clearly in the pricing menu, so on some of the higher plans I’m not fully sure what I’m getting. A few concrete examples would make it easier to understand.

As I mentioned, I previously had some problems with video cutting: it wasn’t very accurate, and sometimes the video playback during cutting didn’t work, so I had to reload the web page. However, these issues have been fixed.

Sometimes I still get a bit lost with all the screens/steps in the sidebar. Just looking at the preview of each step’s content isn’t always enough for me to know what it is at a glance. It would be helpful to be able to rename steps to label them (maybe this feature already exists, and I just missed it). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Storylane solving and how is that benefiting you?

We wanted to give our clients a demo of our product, and to do that we created ad hoc credentials so they could navigate our demo environment. Managing those credentials quickly became really annoying, so we started looking for alternatives and found Storylane. With Storylane, we can easily create straightforward demos without having to grant access to our demo environment when it isn’t necessary.

We currently use Storylane demos as a kind of “reward” in our outreach emails, and in the future we plan to create more demos that also serve as tutorials for our users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Screen-by-Screen Demos Made Easier"

4/5

What do you like best about Storylane?

The screen by screen approach is really cool, as well as the short videos that are shown.

The AI is really useful for the writing and have ideas for the steps in the process, and even good suggestions on how to frame the demo and the steps. That was really useful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Storylane?

Not sure if it was a bug or the tool is intended this way, but once I created a GIF for a demo I completed, if I edited the steps or the wording, save and confirm, I would only be able to download the first GIF and it would not be updated. This was really frustrating because making a single mistake during the first save means that I had to record the demo once again from scratch.

It was not easy to find help within the platform for this, but if everything is done correctly the tool is helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Storylane solving and how is that benefiting you?

Our platform has a lot of steps, screens, and processes that our agents or our customers need to complete depending on their request or what they need.

We create SOPs or articles with guidance where we leverage Screenshots today. Using Storylane is a great way to put all this screenshots together and even show the complete process in a cleaner way making the article easy to read and follow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"RepX Powers a Truly Personalized, Multi-Modal Demo Chatbot"

4/5

What do you like best about Storylane?

We used Storylane’s new RepX product to build Clara, the multi-modal demo chatbot that’s now live on our homepage. The personalization is what impressed me most. A visitor can tell Clara their persona or what they’re trying to do, and she pulls up a slide tailored to that—support proof, customer proof, competitor proof, whatever fits.

If you ask her about something, she answers right in the chat, either as text, a visual, or a live demo depending on the question. If you mention you want to see the product, a tour loads on the spot. It doesn’t feel like a canned walkthrough.

The other standout was the support. On their side, Shankar Ganesh put up with every odd idea we threw at him and helped shape it into what it ultimately became. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Storylane?

The learning curve. RepX is capable, and that capability comes with a lot to wrap your head around early on — it took us some time and back-and-forth before we were comfortable building the experience we wanted. Worth it in the end, but plan for the ramp. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Storylane solving and how is that benefiting you?

It replaced the static "book a demo" wall on our homepage with something interactive. Visitors get answers and live product tours in the moment instead of waiting on a sales call, and the persona-aware responses mean they see what's relevant to them. It's lowered the barrier to engaging with our product before anyone has to talk to a rep. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"RepX AI Delivers Fast, Polished Live Demo Agents with Accurate Custom Q&A Training"

4/5

What do you like best about Storylane?

The RepX AI demo agent is the standout feature. We're running it as a live demo agent on sharegate.com alongside our conversational AI stack, and the ability to train it with custom Q&A pairs means it handles product-specific questions accurately rather than hallucinating generic SaaS answers. That training workflow - where you build structured pairs and deploy them directly into the agent - is straightforward and doesn't require engineering involvement.

The demo creation flow is also faster than I expected. Building a guided product walkthrough that actually looks polished took hours, not days. For a GTM team that needs to move quickly on pilots without pulling in design resources, that matters.

The ability to embed it as a demo agent rather than just a static tour is the real unlock - it shifts the experience from "here's a product video" to something closer to a live rep interaction, which is exactly what we were trying to achieve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Storylane?

Seat pricing is structured for larger teams. For a lean GTM operation running a focused pilot, the default packaging has more seats than you need, and right-sizing it requires a commercial negotiation that shouldn't be necessary at the pilot stage. A usage-based or small-team tier would lower the barrier significantly.

The RepX training workflow is manual in a way that becomes a bottleneck as product surface area grows. You build Q&A pairs one at a time - there's no bulk import from a doc, knowledge base, or existing FAQ. For teams with deep or frequently updated product content, that's a real ongoing time investment. A structured ingestion flow would change this meaningfully.

Conversation-level analytics for the AI agent need work. You can see demo engagement metrics, but understanding how RepX is actually performing - where it's falling back on questions, which topics it's handling confidently versus poorly, where users are dropping - requires more manual digging than it should. For a tool positioning itself as an AI agent, the intelligence layer on performance should be first-class. Better per-question analytics would make internal ROI reporting much easier.

Integrations are functional but not deep. The connection to our existing stack works for basic handoff, but tighter integration with CRM and intent data would make it possible to personalize the agent experience - which is the obvious next unlock for a tool like this. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Storylane solving and how is that benefiting you?

The core problem is demo coverage at scale. Our sales team can't be live on every product touchpoint, and static product tours don't handle follow-up questions. Storylane RepX fills that gap - it acts as an always-on demo agent that can walk a prospect through the product and respond to questions without a rep in the room.

For a GTM team running a lean outbound and conversion stack, that's a meaningful unlock. It extends rep capacity without headcount, which is exactly the tradeoff we were trying to solve for in a pilot context.

The secondary benefit is speed to deployment. We went from evaluation to a live agent on sharegate.com faster than we would have with a custom-built solution, and without needing engineering cycles to do it. For a team that owns experimentation budget and needs to test and iterate quickly, the low deployment overhead matters.

It also forced useful internal work - building the Q&A training pairs created a structured handover document that now lives in our knowledge base and has value beyond the tool itself. That's an unexpected side effect worth noting.

Still early on full ROI measurement, but the directional signal is that it's compressing the gap between a prospect's first product touchpoint and their ability to get a real answer - which is the moment we care most about in our funnel. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
