## Socrative Reviews
  ### 1. The Pleasant Experience of Using Socrative

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Azami S. | Marketing Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 26, 2020

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

Training is essential to achieve the objectives, which is why there are tools like Socrative, specifically designed to ensure that you can implement courses, consultancies, and workshops online, but with high quality. What I like most about this software is that you can have the students connected through any computer in real time. You can also implement many practical techniques in your consultancies so that you can evaluate the classes. The tool gives you ample freedom to evaluate through questionnaires, tests, workshops, among other options that will adapt to the type of evolution method you want to implement. I find it very helpful that you can get reports of the results of your classes, which you can download in Excel or simply store them safely in the cloud. Something that undoubtedly increases the quality of this software is that it allows learning to be retroactive where the instructor is part of every process in the class.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

It would greatly enhance the experience for Socrative users if the questionnaires were more interactive, such as by integrating audio or video within them. Additionally, being able to edit any of these questionnaires after saving them is really complicated, especially if it's your first time using it.

**Recommendations to others considering Socrative:**

If you need to use a tool that allows you to interact and engage people in high-level online training, Socrative will help you in many aspects, as it allows you to obtain real-time results. Just prepare the objectives of your workshop, courses, or consultancy, and you can implement them fully.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have finally found a practical and simple tool to conduct online training, which ensures that the results of those trained will be recorded, either individually or in groups, if you prefer.

  ### 2. Socrative helps me bridge in-class and virtual instruction.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 02, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

I like that I have access to student responses in real time.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

I would like to have more choices of question types (like matching). My students get frustrated that their short-answers are counted "wrong" when they aren't typed in exactly as I put them in . Even though I tell them that I will check those answers myself, they believe what the machine says over what I say.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest issue Socrative has solved for me is how to provide the same assessment for my virtual students that I have for my in-class students.

  ### 3. Very useful in formative evaluation at the end of each class.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Inacia C. | teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 19, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

Quick monitoring the learning's of my students. Easy to do.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

I can't do personalized questions for different groups at the same time.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Formative evaluation in class; summative evaluation in the current situation (e-learning);
Being able to reformulate what I have planned in a short time;

  ### 4. Socrative

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

It saves an awful lot of time and gives pupils immediate feedback.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

- It would be great if it linked with Google classroom
- It would be great if you could have a whole class mark book where it shows all the scores for every test/quiz set that gives averages and can identify "hotspots" within the test that can be addressed

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It gives a clear picture of areas that pupils have not understood. Again, time saving.

  ### 5. Socratic for Real-Time Formative Assessment

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Justin H. | Program Chair, Secondary Education; Associate Professor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2020

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

Socrative offers a simple and easy to use platform for immediate feedback for students, enabling powerful total participation techniques. This helps me adjust instruction on the fly and provide feedback to shore up accurate understanding before moving on. The "quick question" feature is particularly great! I've found it most effective coupled with my powerpoint where i have questions pre-written - only delivering them verbally required me to repeat the question often and disadvantage hearing-challenged students.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

While this is more preference, i'd really like for students to not to have to download an app to participate - this is where i've found Plickers to be a better product as it's not dependent on student technology. There are ways to overcome this, but you need to consider your context and your students before making the call.

**Recommendations to others considering Socrative:**

As long as you know students have sufficient technology, and you are willing to allow them time to accommodate the downloading of an app and getting used to it, it's more than worth the effort - i recommend doing it regularly so the novelty wears off and it's about their learning first and foremost.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Socrative is one tool in my toolbox toward helping students make their thinking visible - when used well, quick quizzes and knowledge checks (not to mention i LOVE exit tickets!) help me know what students need from me to be successful. The simplicity and ease of use of Socrative really helps me focus on what's most important.

  ### 6. Using Socrative For Single Best Answer Questions And Extended Matching Questions

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

  ### 8. Socrative is a great way to assess student mastery of subjects.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 02, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

Questions and answer choices are randomized.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

If a student gets logged off they need to start all over again. I also think that there should be the option of setting time limits for tests/quizzes and the option of "kicking a student" out of a test/quiz if they shouldn't be logged into the test. Tests should also be able to be merged.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Efficiency, reaching remote students

  ### 9. The Review you asked for

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 02, 2021

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

Saving paper and not having to grade exams.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

I would like a time stamp for when each student starts and ends their questions. I would also like to remove a student during a particular session so that it does not show the student as logged in.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I know which types of questions/topics my students struggle with.

  ### 10. The golden ticket to quick grading!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Desa J. | Teacher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2020

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

My favorite part of this tool is that it allows you to quickly assess your student's understanding of a topic or standard and then plan for necessary interventions. When you are needing a user-friendly way to asses students, this is your golden ticket. You can use it as a fun review game, a short exit ticket, or even a summative assessment. I enjoyed the fact that you have several options when deciding what type of questions you would like to give. There is the true or false, multiple-choice, or short answer. I would often use the short-answer response to check my student's grammar or spelling. This is easily achieved because students must type in their responses and it has to match the key exactly to earn points.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

It is not the most attractive layout for the teacher or student view. I do believe with a little more added dimension to the graphic design or updated approach to the games for a wider age range of students this tool could be phenomenal.
This was not a big issue for me, but the way the data is presented at the end of a short answer assessment would be better if you could reduce it down to one screen.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have been able to effectively gauge my student's mastery of a skill. I am able to use Socrative to provide data to my district to prove that mastery is taking place. In PLC's we also have been able to use this as a focus group to create better instruction and activities for all types of learners.

  ### 11. Socrative in the Classroom

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2020

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

Socrative is very easy to set up and collect responses from students. I like that you can ask open ended questions as well as multiple choice questions.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

The only thing I really don't like is that you have to clear the room each time you want to collect new responses.

**Recommendations to others considering Socrative:**

I would recommend using this software as I feel that you will enjoy the ease of use and implementation of this software.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to check for student understanding of previous material learned, and knowledge they have before we discuss a topic. It has helped me to know how in-depth I can go when introducing a new topic.

  ### 12. Socrative the best to give evaluations.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Komal R. | Teaching Assistant, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 27, 2019

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

I like Socrative, because I can do many things while teaching, for example, students can enter answers and the whole classroom can visualize it, the function of conducting a questionnaire is incredible and easy to use, it is a great resource, I can get more skill as educator saves me a lot of time distributing exams to my students.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

The web version is more attractive than the mobile version, that's why I like it more for the web, it is easier to use and I feel much more comfortable, I could say that I have nothing negative to say about this great tool. I would like them to add more functions, since it seems like a very simple platform.

**Recommendations to others considering Socrative:**

As I said before, it saves me a lot of time, in a few words it has been a great help, you can quickly qualify, evaluate the learning, it is good.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Socrative makes for valid assessments with instant feedback and no correcting necessary.

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

I love that Socratative allows teachers the option of building an entire test of any length, push out just a quick question, or use the premade exit ticket. It's also great that students do not have to login with their own accounts. The data is presented in easy to read format and allows me to save to my Drive or project on the board and hide student names.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

I wish that there were a way to edit the pre made exit ticket.

  ### 21. Easy to use, great for teachers!

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amanda S. | Instructional Specialist, Primary/Secondary Education, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 20, 2018

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

Teachers can easily use Socrative to create quizzes and games for their students. It can give instant feedback and results to teachers, and is a fun way to start off each class period, review for an upcoming assessment, or just for a quick interactive poll.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

Socrative can be challenging to create reports at first as a new user. It took some time to teach the staff how to use the website to best implement into their classrooms.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When I was teaching in my own classroom, I used Socrative as an app on the classroom set of iPads. My students would log onto the classroom using my room code, and then I would quickly have them answer a few questions based on the previous day's lessons. Student data would pop up immediately, and it can be shown to the class with names or as anonymous. My students really liked playing the rocket ship game!

  ### 22. Best of the best for quizzes

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

The immediate availability to ask and gather perceptional data immediately in tables.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

  ### 23. Socrative as a learning tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rachael H. | Middle School Science Teacher, E-Learning, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2017

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

I really enjoy the ease of use and access with Socrative. It is a simple format that enables flexible questions and uses. The ability to review and/or share data from quizzes and surveys is very helpful and easy to manipulate. The ability to create online rooms or classes to separate groups is efficient and organized.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

I would like to see more visuals or graphics incorporated with Socrative. It would be nice to have one more lengthy interactive option other than the three provided (Quiz, Space Race, Exit Ticket).

**Recommendations to others considering Socrative:**

Practice working with the quiz options well ahead of time. I find Socrative is most useful if given live so you can track the answers and completion status as the information is being submitted.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Socrative is an easy way to assess knowledge in a group of people after a class or a concept has been taught. I have used it for surveys as well, to find out opinion on various matters. The Exit Ticket option offers an easy, quick way to collect simple data from a subject group.

  ### 24. DAmico Socrative Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew D. | Faculty Member (Chemistry, Physics, Astronomy), Education Management, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 18, 2018

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

This software allows for assessments to be instantly graded while having the options to shuffle questions AND answers.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

You have to pay for premium features. Also, you have to lauch an activity for it to be accessible to students. A similar product, Quizlet, allows users to access activities live or on-demand.

**Recommendations to others considering Socrative:**

This is a great product, even the premium version is worth the cost to use with students needed to make up work or IEP students who need a different test. The only downside was the website went down for 2-3 days last year (just before final exams). Thankfully, everything was working by the time I needed to use it for finals.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to save significant time by not having to grade work.

  ### 25. Great for Formative Assessments

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeannette O. | Teacher, Primary/Secondary Education, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 27, 2017

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

It is easy to get the students connected, and the platform offers a lot of options. You can make your quiz in advance (and save it to use again for other classes or the next year), or you can ask a quick question on the fly. You can either show responses or not, same with names, while students are answering. On a quick question, the other students can vote for which answer they think is the best -- great if you are asking them to define vocab or make predictions in a story.
When you finish, you can sync your reports easily to Google Drive.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

There's very little that I dislike. It is very easy to use.

**Recommendations to others considering Socrative:**

Great free platform for formative assessments.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Great for warm ups or exit tickets. The students love the competition.

  ### 26. Amazing wedsite for teachers!

**Reviewed Date:** April 10, 2018

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

User interface is very easy to learn and use effectively

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

Does not currently integrate with campus systems in the same deep way other response softwares do

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ad hoc polling for classrooms and for large non-academic meetings, feedback on the fly

  ### 28. Test/Quiz Software in the Classroom

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michele S. | 8th Grade ELA Teacher, Education Management, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 13, 2017

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

I love that Socrative allows me to quiz my students in the moment, without wasting paper or making copies. All students have access via computers and it's helping them prepare for the real world. I love that I can control the order of the questions and whether my students get access to the results immediately, after each question, or at the end. I also like that I can make the quiz go at my pace or at my students' paces.

You are able to assign multiple choice answers, which it grades immediately, or constructed response that you grade/review later.

I like that this minimizes academic dishonesty. You can see the answers in live time.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

I dislike that you can only have one quiz open at a time. This is hard when you have multiple preps of the same subject. I also dislike that the constructed response answers are included in the total correct when they haven't been graded yet. I wish there were more options for the reports that are provided from the students' results. I wish that the screen could be locked.

**Recommendations to others considering Socrative:**

I think this software is decent. You can use it in the classroom for quick checks, reading checks, or something needing immediate results.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This is great for all kinds of quizzes in the classroom. This minimizes teacher grading and fatigue. Yay! It also ensures correct responses. I think this gives teachers a good set of data to work with. I only wish it was possible to align and assign quizzes to the state standards.

  ### 29. Socrative - Great educational tool for K-12

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2017

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

I love the instantaneous feedback that both students and teachers can receive on a Socrative quiz! It is so great for real-time intervention.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

I dislike that students cannot just join a class and stay connected with it - they need to type in the classroom code and their name each time, which takes time.

**Recommendations to others considering Socrative:**

It's free to sign up and try an individual membership, so do it! Try it out!

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This has been a crucial formative assessment tool. I am able to reach out to students who need extra support right away, and this has helped improved their academic performance.

  ### 30. Good, but I have better tools now.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Killian P. | Teacher, Primary/Secondary Education, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

Very user friendly. It was easy to create quizzes and easy for kids to access. I could get to results quickly and easily.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

I don't know that there was much I dislike. I can just do that in my campus platform now, so it can go straight into my gradebook.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used it for assessments of many kinds, but I also used it to collect information, like kids signing up for their meals on big trips. We've moved to Google Forms for that now since we all have Google accounts.

It’s very difficult to type mathematical characters

**Recommendations to others considering Socrative:**

Try it! So many options for assessing student learning.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

  ### 45. Great for formative review!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael A. | Science Teacher, Music, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 12, 2016

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

I love that I can create a short, medium, or long length formative review for my students. I use the multiple choice format, and my students work in groups to answer the questions. We can all work at the same pace, or the students can work at their individual paces.

My students like to use socrative, because it allows them to be competitive and then we can discuss their answers as a class once the assessment is complete. Unlike a pencil/paper quiz, they get immediate feedback, and I can help to clear misconceptions.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

I wish there was more color contrast. Sometimes the light colors get washed out by the classroom lights. Students with vision problems usually have difficulty; I have to print a physical copy for them. However they would be able to use the product if there was a high color contrast option.

**Recommendations to others considering Socrative:**

This software has the ability to assess in a wide variety of areas, including education.

I use this in education to assess my students during instruction. I am able to see what areas of content need to be retaught and reinforced!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2016

**What do you like best about Socrative?**

We used Socrative as an app and a web platform. The app was easy for everyone to download and use, regardless of the phone type. Great idea--really needed for a lot of academic settings. The user interface is also really great and has a clean look to make things simple once you are in the right quiz environment.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

Some participants struggled to actually enter the right areas of the app, so the initial on-boarding was a little more challenging than we anticipated. I think it would have been better is a smaller group.

**What problems is Socrative solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had regular large group meetings and needed to quickly get feedback in a reliable way.

  ### 47. Socrative

Socrative is an excellent tool to use for quizzes and review alike. Socrative gives me the ability as an educator to distribute tests and then the software grades the tests for me, saving me a great deal of time.

**What do you dislike about Socrative?**

Socrative is very simplistic and there could be more useful tools to it such as more interactivity or review games to choose from on the student's end.

Socrative is a great tool to use for tests.
