**What do you like best about Shopify Plus?**

The automated workflows through Flow and Launchpad empower teams to build custom logic without heavy engineering resources. Multipass login, advanced API access, and expanded checkout customization give the flexibility we need for complex stores.  The upsides are scalability, customization, automation, support and international growth potential.

**What do you dislike about Shopify Plus?**

One challenge is that deeper customization often still requires working within Shopify’s opinionated framework. Certain areas, especially checkout and some native reporting, have guardrails that limit how far you can go without relying on workarounds or third party apps. Even with Plus, not every customization is as flexible as a fully custom built platform.

**What problems is Shopify Plus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Shopify Plus solves the complexity of scaling ecommerce by providing a stable, high performance platform with built in automation, flexibility, and enterprise support. It benefits us by reducing operational overhead, enabling faster execution without heavy engineering resources, and giving us confidence that the platform can handle growth, peak traffic, and evolving business needs without disruption.

**What do you like best about Shopify Plus?**

**What do you dislike about Shopify Plus?**

We’ve had consistently negative experiences with Shopify Plus. Our sales and deposits are frequently held for extended periods without clear explanations, creating unnecessary strain on cash flow. The contracts required by Shopify Plus feel predatory, are extremely expensive, provide no benefits, and offer little to no meaningful notice prior to renewal.  Equally frustrating is the lack of access to actual decision-makers. There is no transparency, no accountability, and no real avenue for resolving serious concerns. Despite branding itself as a champion of small businesses, Shopify Plus provides little support and operates in ways that feel exploitative and profit-driven rather than partnership-oriented.  It takes an enormous amount of time and effort to set up and maintain the platform. Investing hours or days into building a business on Shopify Plus, only to be met with withheld funds, rigid contracts, and minimal support, is deeply discouraging. If Shopify truly intends to support small businesses, significant improvements in transparency, communication, and fairness are necessary.

**What problems is Shopify Plus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Shopify Plus has consistently fallen short in supporting our business. Funds are withheld for excessive periods with little transparency, contracts are expensive and feel predatory, and there is a noticeable lack of advocacy for small businesses. The experience feels one-sided and exploitative rather than supportive.

**What do you like best about Shopify Plus?**

I appreciate that some apps are free for Shopify Plus members. Specifically, the Flow app has been great in automating some parts and steps in our company, which has been very helpful.

**What do you dislike about Shopify Plus?**

I'm currently having inventory issues because of new updates in Shopify Plus. The POS can't receive merchandise and transfer it from one location to another as it lags too much. I would love for Shopify's help with Stocky to get better. It would also be great if Shopify offered a Warehouse Management System (WMS). We're paying $3000, and I don't see too much change in my Shopify store. I'm still in the process of setting up catalogs for Shopify Plus. I wish it could offer more options, as currently, the pricing is only from retail price down by a percentage. It would be better if it could be from cost to price.

**What problems is Shopify Plus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Shopify Plus helps organize our warehouse with bin location and automates parts of our business using the Flow app, making operations smoother.

**What do you like best about Shopify Plus?**

I use Shopify Plus for POS, online sales, and inventory management. I really appreciate how it allows us to have multiple retail locations and sales channels with one central inventory. The central communication features are great when dealing with multiple locations and stakeholders. I also like the automatic inventory allocation based on location and priorities. The timeline communication, inventory movement, and reporting features stand out to me. The reporting has been greatly improved, especially with the integration with Better Reports.

**What do you dislike about Shopify Plus?**

I don't like how there is certain functionality with POS but not with Admin and vice versa. When a new feature is enabled on POS or Admin, a lot of the time that feature isn't available on the other system.

**What problems is Shopify Plus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Shopify Plus allows us to manage multiple retail locations and sales channels with one central inventory and communication system. It automates inventory allocation based on location and priorities, and offers improved reporting with better integrations.

**What do you like best about Shopify Plus?**

I like Shopify Plus for its ease of use and the ability to scale, which is essential for selling our mini wine products online. The platform supports multiple storefronts, making it possible to manage various stores with different sales goals efficiently. It provides a modern, user-friendly website to sell products with varying prices and inventory. I appreciate the features like discounts and upsells that are crucial for a modern CPG brand to be successful and scale.

I would like to see more custom cart and checkout fields. Custom Shopify Plus tax settings like adding custom pass through tax at checkout, specific to the wine industry.

**What problems is Shopify Plus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Shopify Plus to create a marketplace for selling our wine advent calendar and other mini wine gift sets online. It supports multiple storefronts, making it easy to scale and manage our varying inventory. Everything a modern CPG brand needs to succeed, like discounts and upsells, is possible with Shopify Plus.

**What do you like best about Shopify Plus?**

I really appreciate the analytics feature in Shopify Plus, which provides insights across all our sites, helping us make better business decisions and track growth for individual sites. I like how we can manage all our sites within the organization efficiently. It's great being able to use our own custom middleware along with Shopify's APIs to sync data and site content between our systems. This integration allows us to offer real-time availability and fees for our products. Also, now that we have a workflow for our operations team, the initial setup has become easy.

**What do you dislike about Shopify Plus?**

I don't like the domain reporting. We use Shopify for domain management, and there are still some Plus Org reports that aren't great. We need to see reports for all sites and features, like which sites have certain things like Tipping turned on or off.  WE also have frustrations with the Gifting Model that we have.   We almost always have a different sender and recipient  - Shopify needs to be better for stores that are primarily gifting.

**What problems is Shopify Plus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Shopify Plus lets us manage all our sites, gain insights with improved Analytics, and sync data using our APIs. It helps make better business decisions and offers real-time product availability.

**What do you like best about Shopify Plus?**

I find Shopify Plus to be an amazing full management platform that allows us to present our products to customers very easily. I really appreciate how the admin dashboard is very easy to use. It provides us with all the data and stats that we need to understand our business better, such as where our traffic is coming from, and when we see higher order values coming in from certain traffic sources, we can focus our marketing efforts on those sources to see a return in revenue. I've found the setup to be extremely easy, even eight years ago, and I've noticed that the features have become even more robust over the last five years.

Nothing

**What problems is Shopify Plus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Shopify Plus is a full management platform for our D2C business, making product presentation easy and offering an intuitive admin dashboard. It provides comprehensive data and stats, enabling us to analyze traffic sources and enhance marketing efforts, ultimately boosting revenue.

**What do you like best about Shopify Plus?**

I use Shopify Plus for my ecommerce website. The initial setup when we upgraded to Shopify Plus was relatively easy.

**What do you dislike about Shopify Plus?**

I feel like I pay a ton of money for something that I'm not really sure I get the most out of. I kinda think that I am locked into a service that I don't really need for my website. I think it's overkill for what I'm doing. I haven't noticed a significant difference between Shopify Plus and the other Shopify subscription model. What I really don't like is Shopify partners. It's the worst program, and I would never recommend it to anybody. Shopify partners is very deceiving. You can leave a positive review for a discount, but then they do crappy service. Shopify partners won't let you change the review, and Shopify didn't take any action when I reported a bad partner experience. It was terrible, and there's a good chance I wouldn't recommend it to anybody.

I'm unsure about the benefits of Shopify Plus; it feels like I'm locked into a service I don't really need.

**What do you like best about Shopify Plus?**

I love the higher API limit with Shopify Plus. As a developer, this feature is a blessing, allowing us to run our custom automations smoothly without hitting thresholds. I appreciate the ability to customize checkout rules to match our specific business needs. The inclusion of features like POS Pro, Markets, and a Custom dev dashboard is great, and I like how they're continually improving. I'm very happy with all the features and always excited about their updates. It was very easy to set up Shopify Plus, and we got everything running in just a couple of days as an international brand.

**What do you dislike about Shopify Plus?**

The only thing I feel is more valuable to us is syncing the data between staging and production store. I know there are tons of apps that do import/export for you, but if there is an option to auto-sync the data with the store, that would be wonderful and we can then leverage the same data on dev store to reflect the development more clearly.

**What problems is Shopify Plus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Shopify Plus manages our products, blogs, and site aesthetics, offers robust APIs for app development, and handles custom data for PDP pages. Higher API limits support bulk operations and custom checkout rules streamline order processes. I'm happy with its features and continuous updates.

I really appreciate Shopify Plus because it helps us reach our customers and allows them to interact with our brand. We love the customizability and the growth potential that our store has with Shopify Plus. It's great knowing we have access to checkout customizability, which has been huge for converting customers at their most high intent moments. Another big plus is the availability of partner themes and the various apps that ensure long-term software compatibility support. I also value the international market access enabling us to present a more local storefront with local payment options, and the reliability of the platform, especially during crucial sales dates. Additionally, I found the initial setup easy thanks to the available templates.

The price can be expensive if the store cannot financially support the upgrade.

I use Shopify Plus to operate and host my e-commerce website and appreciate its affordable credit card processing fees, protection against fraudulent orders, and a robust structure to build an exceptional website. I like quick access to support when I come across a challenge I can't solve on my own. There are a variety of tools specific to Shopify Plus customers, such as workflow and greater reporting, that hold a lot of value. Workflow allows the automation of many processes, saving man hours and time, especially during busy periods, and the improved reporting functionality helps me further understand trends and activity on my e-commerce store. It was very easy to transition from standard Shopify to Shopify Plus.

**What do you like best about Shopify Plus?**

I think for Shopify Plus, some of the things that stand out the most are the access to some really robust themes. I also like that I can integrate different sales channels that we couldn't do on the regular Shopify channel. Being able to access more channels lets us drive in business from different marketplaces, like connecting our Amazon shop and TikTok shop, which allows us to just have better access to more sales channels and ultimately increase our sales. The initial setup was extremely straightforward and very easy.

**What do you dislike about Shopify Plus?**

I think the double-edged sword for Shopify is that their system is built for apps. A lot of the problems we run into, Shopify will be quick to say, 'oh, there's apps for that' versus offering it instinctively for their customers.

Shopify Plus lets me navigate and pull data from different customer cohorts and quickly resolve theme issues with support, enhancing our business operations.

**What do you like best about Shopify Plus?**

I really appreciate the uptime commitment of Shopify Plus. The support is always available and usually pretty knowledgeable, which is really reassuring. I find the Audiences feature very cool and the overall ease of use for the platform, including installing and managing applications, is a huge plus. It's great that applications integrate with ease and the standard for getting into the app store seems to be quite high. Integration with other markets like Amazon and eBay, and tools like Klaviyo and Google Ads, also works seamlessly. Setting up Shopify Plus was very simple, with tools available to migrate products and orders, and the settings and design were straightforward enough.

**What do you dislike about Shopify Plus?**

I mean, discounts are incredibly basic and should be updated and should include a built-in feature to display the discounts on the frontend without the need for custom coding.

**What problems is Shopify Plus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Shopify Plus as a reliable inventory source and to manage our retail store. It eliminates server maintenance worries and downtime, combines web and point of sale platforms, and offers integrated analytics.

**What do you like best about Shopify Plus?**

I like the ease of use of Shopify Plus, especially considering that our development team is small and agile. This platform allows us to really get the best out of it for what we want to do. I also appreciate that Shopify Plus can be integrated into pretty much everything else we do. It's great that it has so many integrations with tools like Syn7 for inventory management, Xero for accounting, and Klaviyo for email marketing. I love that Shopify Plus makes things really easy as an out-of-the-box solution. It's definitely one of its huge advantages.

**What do you dislike about Shopify Plus?**

We previously had a really good Shopify Plus manager. With the reorganization, they've moved on, and we haven't found the same continuity of service. So I think if I could improve anything, it would be on the personal level. The technology is fantastic, but just the account management would be great to improve.

**What problems is Shopify Plus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Shopify Plus to sell into 70 countries with multiple currencies. It's easy to use, even with a small, agile team, and offers vast integrations, like Xero and Klaviyo, allowing me to streamline operations.

**What do you like best about Shopify Plus?**

I like the flexibility and stability of Shopify Plus, which allows us to have a high loading speed even while using many additional apps. This helps push our conversion rate without slowing down the site. The high loading speed also keeps customers engaged longer and prevents them from leaving the page. Setting up and maintaining the platform is incredibly easy, making Shopify Plus a better choice compared to WooCommerce, where I had to worry about site crashes and massive overhauls after platform updates. We successfully use upselling and cross-selling tools to increase our average order value and convert those difficult clients.

**What do you dislike about Shopify Plus?**

The AI builder has not worked well for me when I've tried using it. Most of the time, I get an error message, or it simply doesn't create anything close to what I was looking for.

**What do you like best about Shopify Plus?**

I appreciate how versatile Shopify Plus is, as it can be used by varying sizes of clients. We love the Functions features, which have been a game changer for our high value merchants, allowing us to help our clients offer more bespoke discounts and deals, which the native discount functionality doesn't fully cater to. I find the platform to be robust and scalable, providing an excellent ecommerce solution for our clients to enhance their sales. The initial setup of Shopify Plus is also super easy.

The sales process is pretty long and drawn out, and the Shopify sales team competed with us. On more than a few occasions, we've pushed clients over the line to go for Plus, but the deal gets swept out from under us by the Shopify Plus sales team.

Shopify Plus provides a robust, scalable ecommerce platform for our clients to sell more products. The Functions feature enables bespoke discounts and deals, enhancing client offerings beyond native discount possibilities.

We require multiple storefronts to manage different aspects of our business - the fact that these can all be rolled into one 'organization' under Shopify plus is a huge benefit to us. The premium level support is also a huge selling point for us as a business - being able to get a live agent almost immediately to address any issues is critical for us as an organization.

**What do you dislike about Shopify Plus?**

As an emerging brand - the decision to go with Shopify Plus was not taken lightly due to it's significant increase in cost compared to base Shopify plans. The fact that for this added cost you cannot manage multiple brands (with different branding) without paying even more is also a bit frustrating. But the benefits outweigh the overall downsides.

**What problems is Shopify Plus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Shopify Plus was crucial for us with our more complicated sales tax integration that was a reequipment for our business. Additionally, it solves our need for multiple storefronts under one singular brand without requiring multiple base Shopify plans - the unified storefronts make things much more simple for us to manage.

**What do you like best about Shopify Plus?**

I like the integration between retail and e-commerce on Shopify Plus. It allows us to manage our inventory and sell in both channels, which is crucial for our business. Running promotions and varying them between online and in-store is very helpful, and maintaining our inventory in a single place is essential. The product listings creation and maintenance process is also very helpful. The integration with the retail POS helps us serve all our customers and track purchases efficiently. Shopify Plus streamlines our processes, maintains accurate inventory, and makes managing promotions easier. The setup was easy to upgrade our POS locations to run Shopify Plus, and we faced no major issues.

**What do you dislike about Shopify Plus?**

I often have issues in stores with returns and exchanges. The system often has problems facilitating exchanges, which means we have to just refund and then create a new order. This has been frustrating for the team. On the e-commerce side, having custom themes does help create some unique pieces, but also can be tough when certain features do not work with our selected theme.

Shopify Plus streamlines our selling process, combining retail and e-commerce into one platform, maintaining accurate inventory, and simplifying promotions. It integrates product listings and retail POS, enhancing inventory management and customer service.

**What do you like best about Shopify Plus?**

I like the very easy-to-use UI of Shopify Plus. I also love the apps on my phone, which allow me to manage my site and answer customer chats anywhere at any time. It keeps me connected, not tethered. If there's an issue on my site that needs immediate attention, I can fix it in seconds wherever I am through the app, so I can solve problems without waiting. The initial setup was very easy; I went from idea to implementation in less than 10 weeks.

**What do you dislike about Shopify Plus?**

I am not keen on the discount structure for promotions. It would be better to have a way to EXCLUDE items from an order discount vs the current solution of inclusion. The level of flexibility that Shopify Plus provides is its best feature.  We are able to automate nearly everything, including discounts, workflows, and custom checkout logic, using Shopify Scripts, Launchpad, and Flow.  Additionally, operations run smoothly because to the connections with CRM and ERP platforms like HubSpot and NetSuite.  Businesses that want both power and usability will find it ideal.

**What do you dislike about Shopify Plus?**

The dependence on third-party apps for necessary functions is the largest disadvantage.  Even if the app ecosystem is fantastic, the expenses can mount up quickly, particularly if you're already paying more for Plus.  Advanced reporting and loyalty are two examples of essential enterprise operations that have to be offered by default.

**What problems is Shopify Plus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our issue with checkout friction was resolved with Shopify Plus.  We were able to improve the layout, incorporate alternate payment options, and add trust elements because of to the customisable checkout.  This increased conversions by over 15% and decreased cart abandonment.  Additionally, mobile optimization and performance have a significant impact.

Well previously we are using Woocommerce which is very slow and a lot of bugs. But we started using Shopify Plus around April 2023 and it improved everything. Starting from API connection directly to Mintsoft and Extensiv. It has a hundreds of integrations, and for me as a Data Analyst, the exporting of reports are very crucial. So I used a lot of the report and analysis function of the Shopify Plus and it's so easy to tweak it thru the python scripts! 

Moreso, the inventory management, the product creation, metadata, all these systems are so seamless. 

We use well the order management to amend, track shipments of parcel straight from the order, knowing all order details, was able to cancel, refund, amend, resent invoice, and even downloading invoices.

The processing of bulk data transfer from Woocommerce to Shopify Plus is fast that it takes just less than 24 hours to migrate.

Their customer support is very reliable and always available.

**What do you dislike about Shopify Plus?**

The downside is most probably related to preference, but for our team, without looking on the pros, the high cost is something challenging to justify - but in order to justify, we make it our goal to do serious volume of sales to make sense of it. 

There's also some functions that we hope that is already part of this expensive package. Rather than using external apps or dependency to add-ons. 

For example, we like a unified dashboard, checkout customization, backend control but nonetheless it's great for the core features.

**What problems is Shopify Plus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem with other softwares we used before is down times, international currencies, slowness and lack of realtime support. But the basic or even core features of Shopify Plus already helped our team to go on, achieve more due to the 24 by 7 customer service, the easy to go reports for analysis (specially for me as a data analyst) and the 100% uptime!!! Also it has a lot of integrations that I was so amused , and because of how good it is it inspired us to make more sales

I appreciate Shopify Plus for its ease of use. It's very much plug and play, making it easier to see the apps and do customization with limited web developer work.

**What do you dislike about Shopify Plus?**

I wish there were more customization options at the checkout page. It's kind of annoying having Shop Pay integrated, which we prefer not to have. Also, the server going down has happened a couple of times in the last few weeks, and that resulted in a loss of sales. Moving from Shopify Basic to Shopify Plus had more hassles than expected.

**What problems is Shopify Plus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Shopify Plus provides us a good marketplace that's easy to integrate, and it eliminates the need for developers to create apps by offering seamless add-ons.

**What do you like best about Shopify Plus?**

I use Shopify Plus for scaling high volume ecommerce. I like that on Shopify Plus, scaling is just there and doesn't require infrastructure headaches like other enterprise platforms do. It allows teams to focus on marketing and product instead of firefighting, which means less emergency fixes and more confidence in launches. I also find the initial setup of Shopify Plus easier than people expect, especially when compared to other enterprise platforms.

Some logic simply can’t be changed (order of steps, certain validations).

Nothing major as far as negatives about Shopify Plus. The theme updates not bringing over custom code automatically would be my only negative comment.

**What do you like best about Shopify Plus?**

Shopify Plus is where if you are starting an e-commerce business, it meets all the things you need. I used it years ago quite frequently where I had start up my own gym wear service, and thanks to its simplistic ui and complex options, it can make managing a store online easy. It also provides statistics for what needs improvement, like you can see how a user would go through the server, and much more. Some plugins/extensions help you connect Shopify with your own apps that you use.

**What do you dislike about Shopify Plus?**

While I mention its complex options, using it can be confusing and tedious, as there are numerous tasks to perform and optional actions to take, which would require time and considerable learning. Customer Support can vary, like on good days it might be fast while on others it might not be aswell so your results could vary. If you are already a big business you could implement Shopify in your business, but it will take a good bit to implement Shopify into your business if you already have a physical/online system.

**What problems is Shopify Plus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Some services appear to help decrease complexity and provide guidance. Shopify is also guiding people on how to use their app.
Customer Service is always adapting, especially as AI continues to rise.
