I have worked with support on this issue with no resolution other than reinstalling everytime this happens. I would LOVE it if there were a bulk update so each one on the list could be set to use the Team (no Microsoft 365 group) template, for example. I had to do them all individually. :( Also, there is no way to save the options selected for each of those promotions before scheduling or starting the promote operation. Performance was very similar to competition , we managed to use most of the features for our migration, and even afetr migration were able to use ShareGate to review permissions, versions and help us tidy up during migrations any errors we couldclick on and it would take us to support articles and we were able to review and resolve issues easily. **What do you dislike about ShareGate?** although we didndt use every aspect the majority of functionality exceeded our requirements, , ideally a UK based support would have been useful, although we found we needed support only a few times. **What problems is ShareGate solving and how is that benefiting you?** migration to SP2019, we had an old Sp13 Farm on old hardware, with many custom modofications which caused a few headaches, the migration to a SP19 with new hardware has meant we started with standard OOB features and our users are finding the modern interface much more friendly. ### 23. We need this info to identify them and their duties within Sharepoint for re-assignment. Currently those fields are not an option. We are able to retrieve those fields from AD, for existing users, but not for orphans, since they are no longer in AD. **What problems is ShareGate solving and how is that benefiting you?** The ability to run reports in advance of migration giving the user and migration team more insight on the existing environmental structure and contents is quite beneficial. ### 26. Also, all of the new team features and the fact they are constantly expanding. They are even expanding to make a feature set we can push to end users, which I am excited to try. **What do you dislike about ShareGate?** There is not an easy way to migrate ODfBs from one tenant to the other with this tool. You can use their PowerShell platform, which is helpful but it's not as simple as the other migrations. **What problems is ShareGate solving and how is that benefiting you?** The biggest problem for me is migrations, we acquire new companies a lot and they typically have either an old on-prem version of SharePoint or an O365 tenant. This makes it easy to go in and see what they have out there, who uses it and makes a move a single weekend job instead of weeks. It is also a great tool for managing our current environment and keeping up with the governance of a small team. ### 28. I feel the insane mode can be faster. Granted between the same environments it is pretty fast. However we were puzzled by the time it would take for migrating between SharePoint 2013 to Online. Again, not necessarily a fault of ShareGate, however, it seems to sometimes take longer than expected. **What problems is ShareGate solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is helping us navigate the very strenuous task of migrating a large SharePoint web application from 2013 to SharePoint Online. If I want to copy an item from one list or library to another, it does so, and I can keep all the metadata intact. Or if I want an entire list or library, that is done too. Or, keeping going up the chain, I can copy entire site collections. I appreciate the ability to be able to tweak the results without too much difficulty when oddities come up (such as people who have left the company, which would typically cause copies to fail). But the bottom line is that it easily accomplishes the task of copying SharePoint (now including MS Teams) content from one location to another. **What do you dislike about ShareGate?** Sometimes the friendly user interface gets in the way, if we have a scenario that doesn't fit the models provided. **What problems is ShareGate solving and how is that benefiting you?** ShareGate initially helped us with our migration from 2010 to O365. Currently, we use it to migrate content from lists and libraries from one site to another, sometimes as a business request and often as part of a dev effort to create a development environment. We also use it to clone and/or backup site collections. We also use it frequently to run reports of various sorts; one of the most common is the permissions matrix.
