Moving files from one locaiton to another, copy a list or library, etc. More content managment then reporting for sure. You can migrate a Site, content, or just files into SharePoint with a few button clicks. Conversely, you can fully customize the migration with the additional settings within the migration tool. It has an easy to use API for elaborate migrations. Performance is also customizable with a simple slider to migrate. This is very helpful when Microsoft decides to "tweak" their user requests limits algorythm causing other migrations to "time out". Above all, their customer support is the best of all of their competitors. I have sent tickets ranging from simple inquiries to advanced API migration strategies that I needed assistance with. They have always responded quickly and have solved 100% of my issues within the first or second contact. **What do you dislike about ShareGate?** It's hard to find something I dislike about the tool. But if I had to mention something I disliked, it would have to be the constant updates. It seems that every time I open ShareGate Desktop, there's a new update. But that's the nature of the beast with tools like this. Microsoft is always changing. In turn, ShareGate has to change with them. **Recommendations to others considering ShareGate:** I never start a new SharePoint role without my prospective employer knowing that ShareGate will be a part of the job. When it comes down to the cost, sometimes my managers will be a little hesitant. But when comparing ShareGate with other competitors, there isn't any competitor that comes close to the available feature set, cost & top-notch support that ShareGate has. **What problems is ShareGate solving and how is that benefiting you?** As a SharePoint Administrator for 17 years and an independent contractor for five years, I have performed migrations for clients ranging from small mom & pop shops to global entities with 100,000+ users. Honestly, I can get done everything I need to through the M365 Admin panel, UI and PowerShell PNP. But I can do all the same things and a lot more, not to mention the great reporting features, with ShareGate in a tiny fraction of the time it would take me otherwise.
