This question comes up constantly in localization research, and I think it's worth digging into directly. There's a meaningful difference between swapping words into another language and making an interface feel like it was designed for that market from the start. I'm exploring how teams evaluate for this in practice and which providers consistently deliver that kind of depth.

Here's what reviewers in the App Localization category say about the options that address these specifically:

Did you have to do a significant internal review pass after delivery, or did the output hold up on its own?

The glossary thing is more important than it sounds. We thought we could skip it the first time around and just give translators context in a brief. The output was technically correct but everything felt a little off, like the brand voice didn't carry over. Made us much more intentional about the upfront setup with every vendor we've used since.
