But after the updates, I am not sure where everything is... **What do you dislike about ShareGate?** The features are great but I am not using most of them. **What problems is ShareGate solving and how is that benefiting you?** With COVID-19 and work-from-home policy implemented, we released MS Teams to users without much instructions and management plans. In result, we had a huge mess. ShareGate help us see the health of our Teams' environment in dashboard and made it easily manageable with a few clicks. The migration tool was absolutely necessary since Microsoft doesn't offer an easy out-of-box solution for move the SharePoint contents. We use the migration feature all the time because our intranet keeps changing and evolving. 2025: We are currently not using the migration features. Teams management tool was really helpful but updates made UI pretty confusing. ### 2. New features and enhancements are frequently added. Support from aquiring to software to tech support has been outstanding. I work with software from several vendors and Sharegate is top of the list in support. Implentation has been simple . ShareGate isnow a daily use product for my team with reports and easy of maininting content in Sharepoin, OneDrive I have migrated on-prem SP 2010, 2013 and have moved Tenant To tenant to consolidate with success. We are currently brancing out into teams management and template use **What do you dislike about ShareGate?** The only down side I have at this point is really a Microsoft thing, with the custom scripts having to be actiavted and throttling at times. The SP template create needs to included customing the URL , not just the name of the site **What problems is ShareGate solving and how is that benefiting you?** Easy of creating report, maintaining and migrating content between OneDrive, Sharepoint and MSteams maintaining complete history. We have migrated three onprem and two tenants into one tenant for consolidation. We frequently run canned and adhoc reports for Site owners. We are currently rolling out Sharegate to help maintaing MS/team365Group sprawl and expirations. ### 37. ShareGate is a product full of features and utility, but they are not ONLY covered in Knowledge Base content. The ShareGate User Documentation is excellent, but to have a weekly opportuity to ask questions of experts clearly embeddded in the application design i.e. "they know their stuff," is worth every dollar of aupport agreement investment. Users describe challenges and learn from the ShareGate staff and a helpful groups of colleauges gathered for a unified purpose: used the application in the most effective manner and make it the tool that does what you need done. It is similar to a weekly support call; even when you may not know in which area you need fortification. I must also write a "glowing review" of the ShareGate Tech Support staff. They are extremely knowledgeable, call when they are scheduled, follow-up in a few days to gauge your progress and the effectiveness of their guidance. What is most refreshing is the willingness to say, "I am not sure, but I will find out" in areas of which they are not familiar. **What do you dislike about ShareGate?** I wish they would make the software update process was smoother. I lose connection to already authorized tenants to automatically exports migration reports every time a ShareGate software update is pending. Once I complete the update, I have to add the storage location again, but the migration reports, complete with date/time stamps, etc. are once again accessible. **What problems is ShareGate solving and how is that benefiting you?** It makes both site migration and fileshare migration easy and efficient. The ability to schedule these types of tasks in a cogent and accessible GUI is a major boon. Most software providers overlook scheduling by foisting the repsonsibility on the user to adapt native OS scheduling. Or they devote puts very little planning and utility into scheduling features design. ### 38. This is a User-friendly Microsoft tool and it is easy to integrate into our systems. It reduces my time for migrating data between SharePoint Tenents. **What do you dislike about ShareGate?** Sometimes I have faced slowdowns when I work with huge data that could be avoided. **What problems is ShareGate solving and how is that benefiting you?** When I had to move lists, document libraries, and site pages from one SharePoint Online tenant to another tenant, doing it manually took a lot of time. I had two years of experience with SharePoint Online and the SPFx framework, so I did it all step by step, from the source to the destination. But it was slow. Then, a colleague told me about a migration tool. I tried it out, and it was amazing! It simply copied everything from the source to the destination. It only took about half an hour, which was incredible. I was really happy with how easy it made the whole process. ### 39. ShareGate does this well and documents all steps so I can track down any issues. The online documentation is very helpful, and they have the best customer support ever! The best is that they constantly update and innovate to meet new needs! I don't know what I'd do without Sharegate! **What do you dislike about ShareGate?** I don't even know a downside to ShareGate! **What problems is ShareGate solving and how is that benefiting you?** When we acquire a company with existing Teams sites, I can bring their content to our tenant with all permissions and metadata. Sharegate handled it all very well. We did have some issues with throttling, and visiblity into that throttling took some understanding. Support was kind of there to assist us with questions. **What do you dislike about ShareGate?** Support! There is a poor model of support. Email only, introduces significant delays. National holidays always fall at the wrong times, so the US customers get more delays. I have been working a current issue with User cleanup for 3 months with support, and we are not close to a solution. Not the greatest support to help with technical issues with the product. **What problems is ShareGate solving and how is that benefiting you?** Large file moves from on prem to the cloud. Support is good and queries are answered or directed to log an enhancement request. there's also a searchable knowledge base. **What do you dislike about ShareGate?** some actions aren't currently available and although permissions reports come in a nice gui they can only be exported as a excel spreadsheet which is much harder for the target audience to comprehend. time difference for support causes delays and webinars etc are in Canadian time meaning they are harder to attend. **What problems is ShareGate solving and how is that benefiting you?** Migration of information from shared drives, SharePoint permissions reporting and Teams management. ### 43. Customer Service is very responsive to questions and issues. The dashboard if easy to navigation and oversee the tenant. **What do you dislike about ShareGate?** Since we use privlege admin accounts, sometimes the log on to the tenant with different credentials can be confusing. Not really an issue with ShareGate product. **What problems is ShareGate solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are beginning a file migration project from file shares to SharePoint/Teams. This tool is valuable for providing an inventory and analyze prior to the migration. In addition, we are opening up to guest users in our tenant and the monthly guest user review is very helpful for site owners/team owners. ### 49. Easy to use and implement, and customer service is responsive. **What do you dislike about ShareGate?** Often I am told my credentials may have changed when they didn't. ***Update: today I scheduled site promotions for 57 subsites. I would LOVE it if there were a bulk update so each one on the list could be set to use the Team (no Microsoft 365 group) template, for example. I had to do them all individually. :( Also, there is no way to save the options selected for each of those promotions before scheduling or starting the promote operation.
