"My Experience with ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management"
4.5/5
What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?

I like how ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management helps keep projects aligned with broader business goals. It makes it easier to see how work is progressing across projects and to decide which tasks need extra attention. I also find it helpful for managing resources and tracking key details in one place, instead of juggling information across different tools. Overall, it supports better collaboration between teams and makes project planning and prioritization feel more straightforward. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?

The main challenge for me is that it takes some time to understand all the features, especially when using it for the first time. Depending on the project requirements, it sometimes needs additional configuration. I also think the reporting could be simpler, and when there’s a lot of project information to manage, it can take extra time to handle everything. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Clear Portfolio Visibility, With Room to Simplify Setup"
5/5
What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?

I like how ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management connects project work with bigger business goals and gives me a broader view of priorities, progress, and resource use in one place. Project tracking, resource management, demand management, and the portfolio dashboards help me spot delays, workload conflicts, risks, and priorities, and evaluate incoming requests by business value. The centralized information makes it easier for teams to stay on the same page, have more productive discussions, and make informed decisions without spending as much time chasing updates. Once everything is configured, I find it easier to use for regular project tracking and planning. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?

I find the overall user experience could be improved. Some features take time to understand, especially for new users unfamiliar with portfolio management workflows. Setting up reports and dashboards to show exactly what I need takes extra effort, and I’d like more flexibility in customizing views, simpler navigation, and better ready-to-use reporting options. Integrating project data from other tools could be more straightforward, since sometimes I have to update information in multiple places. The initial setup was moderately easy, but configuring dashboards, workflows, and resource planning took more effort. Simpler onboarding and practical templates would help. "Useful Tool for Project and Portfolio Management, with Good Visibility but Some Usability Challenges"
4/5
What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?

What I like most about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management is how it brings project planning, portfolio tracking, and resource management together in one platform. From a consulting perspective, it makes it easier to manage multiple projects, track progress against milestones, and provide stakeholders with a clear view of overall performance.

The dashboards and reporting features are particularly useful, as they reduce the need for manual tracking and make it easier to identify delays, dependencies, and potential risks. I also like how it helps connect strategic priorities with actual project execution, which is important when working on large transformation programs involving multiple teams and stakeholders.

Overall, it's a useful tool for improving visibility, coordination, and decision-making across projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?

One area where ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management could improve is the overall user experience. While the platform offers a lot of functionality, the interface can feel a bit complex, especially for new users. Navigating between different modules and configuring dashboards or reports isn't always straightforward, and there is definitely a learning curve.

From a consulting perspective, setting up workflows and customizing reports can take more time than expected, particularly when managing multiple projects with different reporting requirements. Integration with other tools like Excel, Power BI, and Microsoft Project could also be more seamless, as teams often rely on these for day-to-day project management.

Performance can sometimes be an issue when working with large portfolios or detailed dashboards. Also, the licensing and implementation costs can be relatively high, making it harder to justify the investment for smaller teams.

I think a more intuitive interface, easier integrations, and better AI-driven insights for identifying project risks and resource constraints would make the platform even more useful. The onboarding process could also be simplified to help new users become productive faster. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Useful Project Tracking That Keeps Everything in One Place"
4.5/5
What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?

Pretty useful service for keeping track of projects and their progress. Having everything in one place makes it easier to stay organized and know what's going on without having to check multiple places Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?

Sometimes it takes a little time to find what I'm looking for, and a few things could be more intuitive. Overall, it's useful, but there's still room to make the experience smoother. It would be nice if navigating between projects and viewing updates were a bit simpler. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful Planning, Needs Intuitive Navigation"
3.5/5
What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?

I like the resource capacity planning feature of ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management. It helps us broadcast future project deliveries and deadline planning. The portfolio planning and prioritization features give us a consolidated view of our initiatives and help us prioritize projects based on strategic value and business objectives. The prioritization capabilities are particularly useful when we have more demand than available budget or resources. These features help align projects and initiatives with strategic business objectives and provide better visibility into resource capacity and demand. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?

One area that could be improved is the overall user experience. ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management is powerful, but some features can feel complex to configure and navigate, especially for users who are not familiar with the platform. Reducing the number of clicks required for routine activities and making commonly used actions more accessible would improve productivity. Overall, the platform is very capable, but a simpler and more guided user experience would make that functionality much easier to adopt and use consistently. "Streamlines Incident Management with Intuitive Filtering"
5/5
What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?

I like that ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management helps me streamline my daily incidents and allows me to arrange filters or write queries to my preference. I have a dashboard where I can click on my favorite dashboard name to see all the incidents, change requests assigned to my group, or pending for my approval. I love the flexibility with the filters because it's unlike most modern tools where you have to go through multiple tabs. ServiceNow has a unique query writing feature where I can specify exactly what I want, which is very flexible. I also use it for creating surveys to gather feedback from users, and it's useful for handling open issues by sending email notifications for reassigned tasks. This flexibility helps me stay on top of high-priority tasks. Overall, I think it's one of the best tools on the market for coordinating across multiple teams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?

One thing I don't like about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management is that when I resolve an incident on one page, it automatically redirects to whatever the previous tab was opened for. I hate that because if I'm changing the status of a ticket, I would not want my page to reset. It kills my mood because then I have to go back, open the ticket again, and navigate back to the tab. "ServiceNow SPM Unifies Strategy, Budgeting, and Execution with Clear Portfolio Visibility"
5/5
What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?

What I like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management is its ability to bring strategy, planning, budgeting, and execution together on a single platform. It provides clear visibility into projects and portfolios, helps teams prioritize initiatives based on business value, and improves collaboration between business and IT teams. The centralized dashboards and reporting also make it easier to track progress, manage resources, and make data-driven decisions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?

The main thing I dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management is that it can be complex to configure and customize, especially for organizations with highly specific processes. It may also require significant training for new users, and some advanced features can take time to understand and implement effectively. The overall user experience could be more intuitive in certain areas. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Facilitates Seamless Data Integration with Room for Improved Analytics"
4/5
What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?

I like how ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management makes data and data-related transformations seamless, especially with data integration to different platforms in the cloud like Azure, GCP, and AWS. This gives me confidence and helps in navigation to get metadata information when data is updated or created. I also appreciate that it provides data aspects that aid in decision-making, reducing time and effort. The initial setup seems to be a seamless experience from what I've heard from my team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?

It's complicated to navigate the dashboards, which can be time-consuming. I feel a more streamlined platform would help, similar to Python profiling tools, to quickly review and act on data. Also, sometimes the event-triggered actions could be more efficiently handled. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Strategic Portfolio Management Made Seamless"
5/5
What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?

I find ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management strengthens my problem-solving approach by helping me identify root causes and prioritize them based on business impact. I am especially impressed by the clear communication and timely responses, which ensure I can solve most of my problems. What I like most is the foundation—from foundational portfolio management to advanced agile planning. The alignment of features with technologies and business priorities really stands out to me. I value features by their impact on the user's business and the effort required, prioritizing those that align with strategic business goals. The product is quite valuable and simple, making setup pretty easy and easier to understand. It was quite simple for me to set up, as I had documentation to back me up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?

When I understand a problem from the user's perspective, I've noticed a delay in identifying the root cause, which impacts the effectiveness. There's also work that needs more relevance to truly solve the problem. This is an area in ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management where I see potential for improvement. The process could improve to ensure that outcomes are clearly validated with the user. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Offers a Clearer View of Projects, Costs and Resources."
3.5/5
What do you like best about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?

I appreciate how it helps with resource planning. As a Growth Product Manager, I am constantly fighting for engineering and design time. This tool shows me where people are allocated and where we have gaps. I can spot resource shortages before they become crises. That alone has made my life easier. My conversations with leadership are also more productive because I can show them actual data instead of guessing. The visibility it gives me across all our growth initiatives is probably the biggest win. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management?

The onboarding process was rough. It took us a few months to get everything configured properly. I am not technical so I relied heavily on our internal team and ServiceNow support. Some parts of the platform feel outdated. Sometimes I get lost and waste time just navigating. Performance can also be slow when I am looking at large portfolios. The system takes a while to load all the data and that is frustrating. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
