SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence (BI) Reviews & Product Details

Ability to run and schedule reports off of the server, rather than locally on my machine. I also like the flexibility that our IT teams can build entirely different and very dynamic universes for all different parts of the business. I like the permissions functionality to be sure that the appropriate people have the right access to the reports and behind-the-scenes information. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It's not particularly intuitive. I have to be somewhat well-versed in the product to know how to run jobs/reports off the server, so many of my co-workers haven't migrated to the run-jobs-off-the-server thinking. When jobs aren't run off the server, there are limitations (could be the decision of our IT/IS department, I'm not positive) for how many records can be included and unioned. I was involved in three BI tool evaluations within a data warehouse initiative. We surveyed all of the majors on the Gartner quadrant, and Business Objects surfaced to the top with the balanced capability of dimensional analysis and ad hoc reporting. Business Objects is a great reporting platform for any business to use. It is easy to use and very customizable. You can do the desktop version and the web version of the software and has a great administration platform for the administrators. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
