"Limited for Complex Logic, High Costs, and Strong SAP Ecosystem Lock-In"
What do you like best about SAP Build?

SAP Build is best because it lets teams quickly create apps, workflows, and automations without changing SAP’s core system, which keeps upgrades safe while dramatically speeding up delivery. It enables business users and functional consultants to build approvals, forms, and simple applications themselves, reducing dependency on developers, while still maintaining governance, security, and SAP UX standards. By running side-by-side with S/4HANA on SAP BTP, SAP Build allows companies to extend SAP cleanly and efficiently, combining enterprise stability with the speed and flexibility usually seen in modern low-code platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP Build?

The downsides of SAP Build are that it has limited flexibility for complex business logic and performance-heavy scenarios, meaning advanced calculations, highly customized rules, or large-scale data processing still require traditional ABAP or custom development. Licensing and SAP BTP costs can also be high, making it less attractive for smaller teams or simple use cases, and effective use still requires a solid understanding of SAP processes to avoid poorly designed solutions. Additionally, while it accelerates development, it can create long-term dependency on SAP’s ecosystem and tooling, reducing portability and making migrations away from SAP more difficult.
