Ease of integration - We moved from Workflowmax and it was a very easy transition. 1 person in our business set ProjectWorks up and everyone switched to using the system with little issue or frustration. **What do you dislike about Projectworks?** Custom fields are rather limited - there's no ability to add the custom fields to certain windows which makes it hard to track the status of the project. Setting up templates in word can be tricky with the MERGEFORMAT in word. I haven't been able to find much online to help support me through getting the templates to work properly. **What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?** Ease of being able to track time quickly and succinctly. This includes being able to easily see who hasn't tracked time completely. ### 2. This has greatly improved our ability to plan and manage cashflow. It has also given our firm actual revenue targets that we can work towards. Another great feature for us is the ability to Resource personnel in accordance with revenue Forecast and timecodes. **What do you dislike about Projectworks?** Projectworks can improve the Expense part of the software. They really take on board feedback, ideas, suggestions and actually act on it. The regulalrly push out updates and changes and those changes actually add value to the end user rather than being a useless feature that does nothing but push the price up (what we experiend with larger products). We then shifted our focus to resource management and forecasting. As we explored ProjectWorks capabilities, we had many "wow this is powerful" moments. We now use ProjectWorks for timesheets, invoicing (integrated with Xero), resource management and forecasting. Great metrics available on screen at click of a button. **What do you dislike about Projectworks?** Reporting functionality is not the easiest if you are not super techy (think need to be able to code). No app so people can't do timesheets on the go on an app. Great metrics on screen but sometimes hard to show this in a different format so I can't present to senior management without showing them my laptop and sharing my screen that way, **What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?** Staff capacity - we can see whether staff are over or under-resourced and solves things before they become a problem. Accurate financial forecasting as our resourcing is up to date. MS Project was far more complex than we needed (although we appreciate their Gantt Chart tool), and monday.com was great potential but required significant up-front programming to set it up for our purposes. After several months of trying to get going with each of these, we kept looking for something that would better serve our needs for project management. Projectworks has been very easy to use from the start. Their staff was outstanding with "onboarding" support and had us up and going quickly. They were very responsive in answering questions, helping us understand how to best use the software for our office. Once we were onboarded, we spent the first few months getting our staff used to using the new tool. As we became ready to deepen our use of the software and move to the next level, their support staff was right there for us, helping us to continue to understand how to get what we wanted to get out of the program. Of course we want certain things that the software can't yet give us, and they're great at taking feedback regarding processes not yet integrated into the software and are continually developing new features and functions. **What do you dislike about Projectworks?** As a "younger" product, they're still building out the capacity of the software. So, while it isn't quite providing everything we would like (e.g., pdf a Gantt chart that we can share with clients), they're constantly working on these things and are very receptive and responsive to such requests. When possible, they're also happy to help us figure out creative work-arounds until such features are integrated. Other softwares have extensive on-line "how to" videos, where Projectworks does not; however the support staff has been outstanding and quick to respond to questions so we have never felt abandoned or lacking in ability to use the program. **What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our initial reason for wanting a project management software tool was to track productivity and help us better allocate staff time over a two-week to month-out timeline (or further). For commercial work, we also need to provide the owner with overall project schedules by phase before the project begins, and then to provide regular schedule updates as the project progresses. Eventually, we'll integrate Projectworks with our accounting and invoicing, however we're taking it one step at a time. We've been using Projectworks for about 5 months now and have found it very helpful in staff allocation and in tracking our actual time worked and how that tracks with revenue per phase. Our staff has found it very helpful as they are able to clearly understand the time they have to complete tasks and it's given them a better understanding of how their productivity impacts the overall profitability of the firm -- giving them more ownership and accountability. ### 15. I can use the functions to manage my projects, including resourcing and budget - which I would use on a regular basis, as well as my time spent working on other projects, and weekly billing to the organisation. I generally find it fluid and easy to interact with. **What do you dislike about Projectworks?** I think it would be great if it could interface or plug in to MSTeams. This would further improve user experience and have one less thing to log into. There can also be some refinements made to the navigation in the project management dashboard. Right now there are two rows of options, the second one you can only get to if you go to settings, and then the drop-down menu comes. This could be more clear and intuitive. **What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are able to have one place to look at for project management-related matters including budgeting, resourcing, invoicing. Zabe and his team were always incredibly responsive to any feedback we had, and worked to fill those gaps wherever possible, through updates to the software on their end - we really felt like the service and the product were completely personalised! **What do you dislike about Projectworks?** It's not as "all-in-one" in terms of CRM as our previous software was, so we had to find other ways of managing that, but overall the streamlined nature of ProjectWorks makes it a lot easier for the everyday user to navigate and we have seen that reflected in the take-up of ProjectWorks by all members of our team. **What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?** It's much easier to get an at-a-glance overview of how a project is tracking, and the resourcing feature assists with resource forecasting for team leaders and gives individuals an easily referenced heads up as to what projects are coming their way. ### 17. We previously used 2-3 different software platforms to achieve what we can now do using Projectworks alone. We are particularly impressed with the forecasting and resourcing features. The SQL back-end allows us to extract any type of report we need, which has proven to be incredibly useful. The intuitive interface requiring minimal mouse clicks has made the transition super easy for our team. We received responsive, timely support throughout the migration period and the excellent support has continued as various requirements have arisen along the way. It is exciting to see the regular updates released. **What do you dislike about Projectworks?** Our experience with Project works has been excellent. We required a variety of layout options for our client invoicing in Xero, and ProjectWorks have provided us with an excellent workaround. We are looking forward to having full Xero integration soon so we can benefit from the other integration features available when Xero talks directly to Projectworks. **What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?** The ability to also use Projectworks as a CRM tool has been super useful. The tech support has been amazing and are always quick to respond. When I make technical errors, they have always been able to amend them without any trouble. Zabe has been excellent during the training process and I rarely contact support for queries as the software is quite intuitive. **What do you dislike about Projectworks?** I still find myself getting data from Projectwork and putting them on a spreadsheet to get more pieces of insight that would be good for the team to present. The integration with Xero has been good but at the beginning, with syncing them with the employees on Xero, we were having issues with the rate cards not accruing leave. Which created some issues with what employees were supposed to be accruing, etc. **Recommendations to others considering Projectworks:** If you are looking to have a more straightforward approach to daily tasks in project management, this is definitely the program for you. The design and layout of Projectworks is excellent. There are insights that can be gained that are very valuable to further a company. Lastly, techsupport has been fantastic. **What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?** We wanted a project management tool that really tracked our projects, profit margins, costs of workers, and all operational aspects of the business. We had only been using a time-tracking program and gathered data into an Excel spreadsheet to do our own calculations. With Projectworks, we no longer have to do that. Operations meetings have gone so smoothly and all employees that have been trained to use the program have not had a lot of issues at all. The UI is amazing. ### 19. The program is set our well and relatively easy to use. It makes sense. I like that we can amend project information easily. The forecasting has been a game changer for our organisation and we are able to easily assign work to staff, know what works we have coming up and also financial forecasting. **What do you dislike about Projectworks?** One minor thing is if invoices are part paid there isnt an option to send the invoice again with an amount remaining. I am sure they will be able to fix this minor detail though. **What problems is Projectworks solving and how is that benefiting you?** As above, the biggest benefit was the forecasting of projects, staff and financial. We are a lot more productive and it's good knowing where we have availability for projects and what additional work we can take on. Until you work out how to make it work for you. Also I found the organisation of the project set up pages and tabs to be not very intuitive. I was spending ime hunting for the screens / fields I was wanting to view or complete. Why not have the Settings as the first tab (or maybe the second after Budget) rather than the 8th? A bonus would be if the resourcing and schedule functionality would be integrated to optimise resourcing and scheduling. Recently Projectworks released an integration that allows team members to record time in Projectworks through Azure DevOps work items. I found Projectworks and was immediately engaged. The Project Reporting & Metrics allow us to interrogate the system. There is a good library of reports to get you by, but Projectworks also has the capability to produce custom reports. I have found this feature complex and would like to see it made simpler. Our PMO integrates Projectworks with Power BI to present a bit more detail in the dashboarding. Integrating with Xero is good, but I am not sure if we utilise the full potential. As our Software Engineering uses Azure Dev Ops, it will be good to see the integration, which is currently in a beta state, advance to generally available. Projectworks are advancing with new features and communicating their product roadmap well.
